Maryam's POV
Three days! It has been three that I've set my eyes on Kareem. He refused to talk to me nor does he eat my food again. He wakes up early and comes back home late
Three days ago,when he went out of the room in anger,I cried my self to sleep. I hate the fact that we are having a fight and the most painful part is that, it's all because of her
And safeenah? I've not been seeing her around too. Thank God, coz I don't know what I will do if I keep setting my eyes on her
I called my mom and told her everything, she told me to keep calm that she trust Kareem he wouldn't do anything to hurt me,even though I knew she was right I just couldn't bring my self to believe it. Anything can happen at any time, this lady in question has the charm,she can seduce him and make Kareem leave me
"No! No! Maryam don't think that way,Kareem won't ever do something like that to you" my subconscious advised me
Kareem's POV
It been three days that I and Maryam have not been in good terms and it's killing me already,I hate the fact that we are having a fight
I missed her a lot. Getting frustrated already I pick up my jacket and walk out from my office
"Kareem!" Hafsa called my name standing up from her seat
"What? " I answered rudely
"Where are you going to? The Chinese investors are coming any moment from now on"
"Look, tell them something urgent came up and I had to go back home"
"What? Do you know what we're aiming for?"
"Fifty million naira right? I don't care! I have billions of naira...look I don't have time for all this, I need to leave...bye" I said leaving without waiting for her response
I need to beg Maryam to forgive me,I've been a jerk to her for the past few days,even though I promised to always make her happy, here I'm doing the opposite. I just wish she could see my mind,I won't ever betray the trust she lay on me,I love her and will only love her only. I know she's scared that Safeenah might take me away from her but I don't know how I'll explain this to her that no matter what she'll still be the one,not even Safeenah could come between us
Thinking of what to do to pacify her, I decide to brought her something special. I quickly drove off to the jewellery store
Maryam's POV
I've made up my mind, I'll make sure I beg Kareem for forgiveness today,I've made a big mistake for not trusting him and I regretted it
I'm in the kitchen cooking his favourite, smiling and dancing. I told the maids to take today off,I can do the house chores my self since this is not the first time of me doing it
"Oh the princess is cooking " this is not a statement obviously,it's clear that she meant it in a sarcastic way
I decide not to mind her and continue with what I was doing,I won't let her come in between me and my husband again. It's because of her we are having an argument which I'm not even sure if Kareem will forgive me
"Hey! I'm talking to you" she tried to turn my body to face her but still I never mind her
"Keep calm Maryam....breathe in... breathe out" I tried to calm my self
"Oh! Now you want to turn me to a dog right? I should keep barking !" She forcefully turn me to her which made the knife in my hand fall on the floor
I breathe in and look at her, I tried to calm my self down "I don't have anything to say to you right now, please just leave" I begged clapping both of my hands together
I tried to bend and took the knife as she quickly draw me up "you think you're smart?.......No you're not"
"Do you think I'll let Kareem be happy? No! he can never be! he needs to go through hell!"
What? What is she saying? She sound like she hates Kareem
"He haven't seen anything yet,I will make his life miserable!" She laugh wickedly
"The idiot thought I love him from the beginning not knowing that I've been planning something big for him,and when I was about to succeed, you came! You this witch came and ruined everything for me! But I won't mind, you only making my game becoming more interesting!"
"I don't have issues with you Maryam,you're a very nice girl I could tell but I won't let you accomplish your mission in this house, Kareem needs to suffer! I will make sure I make his life miserable! " she spat angrily
What has Kareem done to her? The way he told me she approached him doesn't seem like she have bad intention towards him,could there be something? But what could it be?
"You don't need to think my dear,coz you can never understand even if you try to know you still won't,no one will ever know what's going on till I finish my mission..I'll make sure you leave this house and never come back, by then I'll be able to destroy his life and-" I didn't let her finish as I made my hand land on her right cheek hardly
"You slapped me?!"
"And I'll repeat the same thing if you dare try to hurt my husband!"
She was about to say something as we both heard Kareem's voice. He opened the door and entered,from where I was, I could see him scanning the room. I felt disappointed coz it seems like he was looking for her
I was about to leave when Safeenah screamed all of a sudden. I stood there frozen looking at her with wide eyes. The knife I was using,she took it and cut her self with it,after doing that she quickly throw the knife to me making it fall on my feet
Kareem ran into the kitchen and wide his face out of shock
"Safeenah!" He shout her name and ran towards her
He didn't even acknowledge my presence
"What happened to you?! Why are you bleeding?"
"She" she pointed her index finger at me

She started crying as she continues "She did this to me,I came and tried to talk to her,I told her I didn't mean to destroy her marriage, in fact I said if she want I'll leave from your lives,I knelt and beg her but she slapped me and took this knife to do this to me...arrrrrghh!!" She screamed and feigned hurt
"I..........I........ Ka.........I " I stuttered shaking my head, I couldn't find the right word to say
Now Kareem was really giving me the disappointed look,he left her and move closer to me. I glance over at her and saw her wipe the fake tears already and she smirk at me
"I.......I " I keep stuttering
"Did you do this? " he asked,his voice is now scary, just as the first time I met him
"Ka-"
"SHUT UP!!!"
"HOW DARE YOU!! HOW DARE YOU MARYAM!! Who do you think you're to hurt her this way! Can't you just for once trust me?! Why is it so hard for you to trust me! She haven't done anything wrong to you! Why do you hate her so much?! Fine she was my ex but now you're my wife! MY WIFE MARYAM!! " he yells angrily
"Why?! Don't you have conscience again? What happened to the old Maryam I used to know? Why do you have to turn to the wicked,selfless,selfish and-" I never let him finish as I slapped him so hard on his cheek
Tears flow down my cheeks as I bend and took the knife from the floor "do you think I did this? Do you?! Yes Kareem! I might be angry,nervous,scared of loosing you to someone else but to try to hurt her? Do you think I'll really do it? Is this how far your trust in me goes?"
"Fine! If that's what you want to believe then so be it,I won't beg you Kareem nor her. You two can go to hell for all I care!"
I'm hurting, I'm really hurting, how could Kareem believe her over me? Can't he see? Can't he see the truth just by seeing the face? He's such an idiot!
He never replied to all I said,he shook his head and move closer to Safeenah " let get you treated" he said and she nod her head crying
"Maryam please forgive me if I may have offend you in any way, please believe me. I never intend to destroy your home, you can hate me all you like but please don't get angry towards your husband, he really loves you..if you want I could leave the house, I will never show up again and-"
"You're going no where Safeenah! You don't have anyone here and moreover this is my house, anyone that's not comfortable should just excuse their self and not you " Kareem replied her but through out he was looking at me as he said so
I felt my heart getting heavier, is this Kareem? Was he the one saying all this? No I can't believe it
They both move closer and walk out from the house. I stood looking at the floor
What's really happening in my life? In my house to be precise,is this how I'm going to loose my husband? He doesn't even know that the person he was fighting for never like him. In fact she hates him so much which I don't even know why?
