Kareem's POV
I can't believe I did something like this,I've always been drunk but I always try to control my self
I got angry when I find out that of all people it was Hafsa,we've been together for about ten years now,she was a friend to Safeenah. She confessed her feelings to me ten years ago but I told her I can't date her coz I love her friend already and this have to happen again? Oh my God!
I entered the the house and every where were so quiet
Did she get tired already?" I thought as I smoke at my self. Normally for the past three month she would cook me food and stay awake till I'm back and totally she didn't do any sort of thing. May be she realise that she can't get into me
I decide to just check up on her coz she doesn't seem to be the Maryam I used to know. I called her name so many times but she didn't answer.
Was she deliberately doing this? Oh I see she was doing the pay back thing,coz when ever she knock on my door I purposely don't answer her that's why she's also doing this. Well if she can't open her door for me I'll do that my self after all this is my house
I opened the door and was surprised when I found out that she isn't there,I checked every where in the house but a glimpse of her I could see. Where could she be? It's dark already and she's not someone that like staying out late. I hot frustrated already, I went and asked Danladi if he had seen her but he told me she haven't return yet
I tried calling her number but it was off...that was when I saw her missed calls
Could she be with my parents? I don't think so,but it might be possible and even it was to be possible what will she be doing there up till now that she haven't return? But I'm very sure that if she was to be there Mom would have called me. What a minute! Is she with Khalid again?! The thought of her been with Khalid boiled my anger up all of a sudden. I won't take this. I won't!
I bring out my phone and called him
"Hey...what's up?" He asked cheerfully as he pick up
"Is Maryam with you?" I asked directly I'm not in the mood to chat with him. I don't know I'll do if Maryam should be with him at this time of the day
"What? Maryam?...I thought...she was supposed to be with you Na?" He asked back sounding so confused
"What do you mean she was suppose to be with me? I was in the office since morning and she's at home,she don't follow me to work now tell me how is she suppose to be with me?" I asked back
"Actually she came to my place this morning concerning what gift would she get for you and I told her. She also wants to get for Kareemah but you know I don't know her taste so she said she will come to your office and talk to you about it"
What? I hope it not what I'm thinking
"Man what time did she leave your place?"
"She left early coz she came in the morning but I think she came to your office by 6:30pm to 7:00pm cause she later called me and we talk....."
"Khalid I can't explain anything to you right now but we need to find Maryam please" I said and he seems to understand the situation coz he agreed and hang up the call
I got into my car and started searching for her
"Maryam where are you?" I thought
After searching for like eternity I went back home but was shocked coz I met her seated already. Her two eyes were red,she doesn't look like the old Maryam
"Maryam-" I wanted to talk but she cut me off by standing up and went inside her room. I was about to follow her when Khalid called me. I quickly picked up
"Kareem I have to leave coz something urgent came up in the house,but she's at home already,I found her outside my compound,I tried to ask her what the problem is but she didn't open up...please Man try to fix this..I hate seeing her in that state" I nod my head but then I realise that he can't see me
"Thank you Khalid, I will" I said as I hang up and went to her room only to be shocked coz her clothes are inside her suit case already. What's she doing?! Wait! No! She can't do this,never! I won't let her
I went to her side but she only glared at me. I wanted to touch her but her burning gaze told me not to try it "Don't! " she warned me and quickly close her suit case
"Please don't go" I begged as I knelt down in front of her
"Maryam please listen to me once...what you saw-"
"No you listen to me Kareem! Enough is enough....I'm tired of all this...I can't take it anymore! After all I'm human too! Kareem just think about it,since when we've been married to each other have you ever make me happy? Have you? You always make sure either I sleep with sadness or cried. I'm tired of breaking you but you're just as hard as rock! You never want me! You never look at me the way I wanted! With all what you've being doing to me I still love and cherish you but instead you chose your secretary over me?! I'm done with you and over this relationship! I was very much patient with you with hope that you'll change but instead you keep taking me for granted"
"What I saw this evening really break me. You broke my heart...No you broke me...I'm broken Kareem! I'm sorry I can't live with a person who don't value my existence"
"Maryam please listen to me at least. I don't even remember exactly what happened!"
"You were drunk aren't you? You promised me Kareem! You promised me you won't take drugs or drink again! You do....and what will even happened if I listen to you now?...what happened between us will it change? No it won't...nothing can ever change what's between us... It over Kareem and it's late already"
"You're now free...you're free to finally be with your one and only safeenah who has been dead but still into your system" she said and went out
I'm so stupid....I'm too stupid to just realise it now that I love her...I love her so much...she's the true one for me....she's the only woman who love me with all her heart
But...it's too late now!
