Maryam's POV
"HOW DARE YOU KISSED ME YOU MORON!!" I wanted to shout at him yet no word came out from my mouth,the tickly sensation seem to remain in my cheek.
In a blink of an eye, he was back at the other side of the table and sat on his chair like he didn't do anything wrong. This was the hardest breakfast I will ever have in my entire life,not that the food is bad but the jerk sitting across me who was eyeing like a glue is the problem.
"Son,I thought you wouldn't be coming home until next two week?". Dad asked him.
Kareem who was still looking at me answered as he answered " I'm taking a vacation,I'll be spending two week with you all". He said looking at me as he said those words.
Mom giggled. "Alhamdulillah, finally you're taking a vacation"
"Well, I thought you're going to work your self to death". Kareemah said mockingly.
"You're right, but that was then but now, I'm taking a vacation because I now have a reason to take a break". He stated and smiled at me.
I glared at him but I never said anything else, he might be thinking that I'm assuming things again.
"Erm Mom..Dad?". I called.
"Yes dear?"
"Yes, my dear". They both said.
"I'm expecting a visitor today. I wanted to let you know". I announced nervously. I had to tell mom and Dad about Mansur in front of this proud man. May be then, he might back off.
He furrowed his eyebrow like he wasn't expecting this.
"Visitor? Who?". Dad inquired, quite surprised. May be because he knew I'm not that kind of a person who engage with people.
I turned to face Dad. "He's your friend's son Dad, he had told me he knew you. The Governor son, Mansur Shabsuma? He's-".
"What?!". Kareem's voice cut me off. I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrow.
"The governor son?". Mom asked. "Zainab Shabsuma's Son?".
"Yes Mom, you're right. She is your friend, right?". She nodded her head but she seemed not pleased with it. She glanced at Kareem,he was back staring at me but not saying a word. Instead, he remained quiet.

Mansur arrived and I escorted him towards where mom was relaxing.
"Mom this is Mansur". I said to Mom when Mansur greeted her. Dad is out for an urgent meeting.
"You don't have to introduce him to me. I know him very well, right Mansur?".
"Yes Ma". He gave an awkward smile. He bowed his head to Mom. "How do you do, Ma?"
"I'm fine...please take a seat".
Mansur take a sit in front of her and I sit beside him. They started the conversation. Mom was asking Mansur about his studies,sending regards to his Mom.

"Are you back with Kareem now?".
I shook my head. "No, we're not together Mansur, I'm only here for Mom. A lot has happened while I was away and I want to rectify that. I had left Mom which had caused her her health and that's why I'm here".
He breathed in relief. "Thank you"
"Why are you thanking me?" I smiled at him.
"Because, I still have a chance".
"I wish you do but right now? I don't know where you stand". I wanted to tell him but just decide to keep my mouth shut.

It was almost midnight when I heard a knowvj on my door. Who could that be? Everyone was already asleep or could Mom be missing me already? I got up from my bed and put on my small veil to cover my hair but I was putting on a golden night dress which is one inch below my knees. I walk towards the door to open it. I wide out my two eyes as I saw who it was.
"Hi beautiful " he said softly.
I quickly wrap my arm around my body tightly as I realise I was putting on my nightie in front of this idiot standing right in front of me. "Kareem, why are you here?".
He weakly replied. "I can't sleep"
"You're here to disturb my own sleep just because you can't sleep?". I raised my eyebrow at him. "What kind of nonsense is that?"
"It's really hurting here". He said as he stared back into my eyes tapping his left chest.
I eyed him confusedly. I rolled my eyes as I felt he's up to something again.
"Oh really? Then you should go to a doctor...as you can see, I'm not". I said sarcastically.
"Now scram! I need to sleep" I tried to close the door but he quickly place a foot on the door stopping me.
"You're really annoyi-"
I wasn't able to finish what I was about to say when Kareem grab my two arm and said. "I really can't sleep knowing that you were with that back stabber today and you were moving around freely with him. You're acting like you like him. I'm your husband for Allah sake!....now tell me how am I suppose to sleep?"
Did I hear all of his words right?
As far as I could remember,he didn't have any feeling for me. So what was he telling me now? Was he jealous of Mansur? And how is Mansur a back stabber? Did something happened between them?
"Well, my relationship with Mansur is not your business! I was never your wife and I'll never be!"
