I was distracted the whole day. On top of that Mike and Julio are coming. I wasn't worried about them. I can deal with them. I don't care about the reasons for their visit. All the time my mind was whirling over our arguments. I wanted to be fair to her. But it is tough considering her attitude. She is not ready to accept her wrong. She would rather fight with me than try to beg for my forgiveness. She was stubborn. Even if she had done it I would have forgiven her. If she is truly sorry. I can't believe I'm battling with choosing her over my people. It shouldn't have happened. But it did this is only a sample of what is going to happen in the future.
"Alpha did you talk with Luna?", asked Lana.
" I did but she is denying everything", I told her.
"Maybe she is innocent", said Lana.
" You are the only person in this tribe guy to believe that", I told her with a sad smile.
"What about you?", he asked.
" I'm debating", I told her.
"She is going to be hurt if you don't trust her", she told me.
" I don't trust her. She is very hurt. But who's fault that is?", I asked her.
"Within a few weeks moon cycle is coming", reminded Lana.
" I know" as if I want another reminder for that wrecking day.
"I thought we will see a baby. It has been so long", said Lana.
" I think right now we must focus on our visitors rather than my baby", I told her.
"You are right. I'm sorry", she said chagrined.
I went to my office and went to work as usual. I love my mate and it is hard to hurt her. So I kept away from her not caring about how would that make her feel.
" I still don't get it why do they need to come here? We talk all the time on the phone", told Seb.
"I don't know why they are here. They said something about tensions with other tribes but I know better. We will know it soon", I told him.
" They might be thinking of pursuing us till we say that we are with them", said Liam.
"Of course, we are with them. The other tribes are animals. We would never side with them", said Seb.
" Sebastian, that is enough. They are our brothers. I think you should use your brain sometimes for a change than your emotions. They have tied with vampires. Does it mean anything to you?", I asked him.
"I'm sorry Alpha. The vampires are our enemies by nature. It's bothersome that they allied with them. I will be more careful with my words in the future",
" You should learn to be more perceptive than receptive. It will help you more", I told him.
"I don't know Alpha. I'm a wreck these days", he said.
I could tell how the break-up destroyed him. I knew it was bad that you are breaking up but when your partner had been with you for a decade it will hurt like a bitch. There is nothing more painful than your mates leaving you.
I did everything that is required of me. I wanted to go to my mate. I could tell that she was hurting but I wouldn't want to ruin the meetings with Mike. I don't like to mix business with pleasure or pain. I will talk to her maybe ask for her forgiveness. But after tonight's meeting. I can't delegate the responsibility to anyone. No matter how my personal life is suffering.
" Alpha they are going to be here soon", said Li. I nodded my head. I went outside to welcome the visitors. To my surprise, it was Mike alone. Thankfully we don't have to deal with the soul sucker.
"I'm pleased that you came here to find me. I missed our conversations", I told him politely.
" I know you are too polite to say how much intruding I'm being right now", he said.
This is why. I like him. He doesn't care about anything. He will call spade a spade. I could deal with him. He is not at all annoying as Julio. I wonder why he was not here.
Once we were seated in the office. We served him drinks. I had coffee while he drank tea. We discussed the weather for a bit. I know he is going to mention the reason for visiting any time. I wonder why he is biding his time.
"I'm here to ask you rethink your alliance with other tribes", he said.
" Why would I do that?", I asked him.
"We are about to attack the other tribes anytime", he said.
" I don't understand the reason for such a drastic decision", I told him.
"There are many reasons we would not like to discuss them at the moment", he told.
" Why would you need our alliance as well. With the vampires with you, I thought you guys were unstoppable"_ I told Mike.
"You know the vampire world works differently than yours. Each of them is a loner. They only stick together for some time for their selfish reasons. Then they break apart", he told me.
" I still don't get the reason for you to attack them", I told them.
"Well, one of the reasons is our alliance with the vampires of course. Now they want the freedom to walk in the human world", he said.
" It sounds reasonable to me. There is no problem in allowing that for you. Since you allowed vampires to walk free", I told him.
"They are sworn to secrecy, but your kind is a bit too loud", he said.
" Still doesn't sound a reason to attack them", I told him.
"You are a tough nut to crack Aidan. Let me tell you to choose your allies now or regret it later. We are going to have a full-blown war soon. We promise not to attack you. But you shouldn't interfere anyway", he told me.
