Ruhaan's P.O.V.

Though the doctor said that Titly was okay now and was just sleeping but as she wasn’t waking up, I thought of visiting the doctor again.
But in the hallway, I got stopped hearing Heer being shocked.
Getting near them, I asked her to confirm whether I heard right. She was saying that Shaan was really involved in all those things. How could this be possible!
Hearing me, she got totally silent and gave Roshni a what to do type look. Understanding the situation, Roshni spoke up, “Heer, Ruhaan is Titly’s brother. He is the family of Titly that we were searching for.”
Heer just uttered, “What!” but without bothering that, I spoke up, “I know everything Heer. So now tell me. What were you saying about Shaan?”
Getting herself together, she uttered, “ I am not talking about Shaan but the last one who surrendered. What was the name!”
In no minute when she remembered the name, she uttered making an angry face, “Yeah, right. Jahan Mahmud. I have seen him with the man who was troubling us for some time. See..”
Saying this, she forwarded her phone to us and we read a news article and looked at each other being utterly shocked.
Mr. Mahmud’s P.O.V.
Leaving Shaan, I got back home. The house was all empty. Though it was like this way for many years but it didn’t bother me then
When my wife was alive, there were always people in this house. Shaan used to be a cute and naughty child since his childhood days.
I kept going on making myself busy with business and the distance between Shaan and me started increasing.
I know I never cared about that. After my wife died, Shaan tried to get along with me. He used to wait for me till quite late at night and at that time the work that I prioritized never let me be with him.
But when Shaan started being with that Ahmed family, he just started making it look like that was his actual family.
I didn’t like that. I wanted him to get settled down in his life maintaining his status but what did he do! He again chose that Titly from that Ahmed family.
Then I just lost it and kept searching till the situation was just created for me. I did whatever it took me to fulfill my wish.
Though I was thinking it was for the best for him, I knew he wouldn’t understand it now but he would understand someday.
But I never expected him to think like this let alone saying this.
Giving all that thought a break, I tried to get some sleep. But wasn’t able to get it though I kept trying for a long time.
Shaan’s word was buzzing in my mind. How could he say something like that! How could he say being my son was his sin!
Just how could he!
I got down from the bed and kept walking in the hall room. All the memories kept coming to my mind as I looked all around the house.
The lively and happy face of Shaan as he jumped all around the house. The crying face of him when his mother died and then his sleeping face on the couch as if he fell asleep while waiting for me to get back home and then his blank face when he said all that in the waiting room of the jail.
Sounds of those moments kept buzzing to my mind altogether. I felt like going crazy with all that. Being unable to handle that, I went blank.
I forwarded towards Shaan’s room. The photo on his bedside table made me restless. There was a photo of mine also with him and in that photo, Shaan was smiling heartily. Then the blank face of Shaan came to my mind. There was so much hatred in his eyes when he said all that words.
Being unable to handle it for long, I got out of that room and forwarded towards the police station without my realization.
It was early in the morning when I reached there. I kept sitting in front of the police station for a while and then got inside.
I wished to meet Shaan but the policeman said he didn’t agree to meet me. Then I went to meet Tamim. I kept apologizing to him but all he kept staring at me blankly.
Then I got near the police and confessed all of my crimes leaving nothing. I also told how Tamim got involved in this without his consent.
I also handed some proof of all those incidents. Hearing all this and seeing all those proofs, the policeman also gave me a hateful look as he asked one of the policeman to lock me up and release Shaan.
While hesitating I asked about Tamim only to get an annoying look from him as he spoke up, “You made him involved in this directly. He won’t be released this way before court would decide to do so.”
I was taken to jail and Shaan got released. He didn’t even turn to me for once as he just walked pass me.
Shaan’s P.O.V.
When I got released, I got outside the police station and kept sitting in front of it. I never thought Abbu would do this.
He really surrendered himself. But still, I couldn’t forgive him remembering all those times of suffering of the people that he caused.
I was again alone. I felt like that time when Ammi died and I got afraid to get in the house. I kept sitting by the playground of the school as everyone was leaving for their house.
Almost everyone has got their parent to take them home or at least they had them waiting for him in the house but in my case, I was all alone. Neither anyone came to pick me up nor I had someone to wait for me in the house.
Then there was Vai..Ruhaan vai. Who came and sat by me as he put his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him being all startled and he started patting my back while saying, “It’s me, Shaan. Your brother, Ruhaan.” and tears started rolling down as I hugged him.
Remembering that time, tears made their way this time also but now neither there is someone to be with me nor there will be.
I didn’t know how long I was like that until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked at him with teary eyes only to find Vai as he just sat beside me without uttering anything.
I also kept totally silent finding nothing to say.
After some time when I got up while wiping my eyes and was about to leave from there, he spoke up, “Shaan?”
I got stopped but didn’t turn to him. Then he came in front of me and spoke up, “Where do you think you are going? And what did you think you were doing?”
“Vai, I am going to leave this country. I don’t want to be with you anymore. No actually you people shouldn’t be with me anymore. Whatever happened was just for me and I ” I spoke up keeping my head down.
“Stop it, Shaan.” He just yelled at me but I spoke up again, “You know it’s true vai. So don’t stop me. Let me leave.”
He kept silent for a moment and then spoke up, “Now you only thought of leaving. Then why didn’t you leave as I kept asking you to leave me all these three years? Why didn’t you let me feel alone?”
Hearing him, I looked at him and spoke up, “I should have left you back then.”
Hearing my word, Vai got shocked and spoke up, “What did you say?”
“I thought of being with you in sufferings as you also did the same when I was on edge of being alone in pain but little did I know I was the reason for your sufferings.” I spoke up only to get another yelling from him as he spoke up, “Just stop it.”
Finding nothing else to say, I uttered, “I am sorry, Vai” and was about to leave from there but got paused when I heard him uttering, “Titly is in hospital, Shaan.”
I turned back to him and just wanted to rush to see Titly but my mind kept chiding, “That’s also because of you. Just because of you.”
Getting hold of myself, I uttered in a lower tone, “She will be fine vai and besides you all are with her. Being with her, I will just make it worse. I don’t want to let it happen again.”
He uttered being anguished, “Shaan!” but I left the place as tears started rolling down my cheeks....
