DAMIEN
I have been thinking about going to meet Fabian. I know that he hates me. Well, I am very well aware of that! But he surely cares about his daughter's happiness. Every parent wants what is good for their children. That is why Fabian wouldn't just want his daughter to run away to his enemy.
I have that maybe I could go and talk to Fabian, man to man. Without his guards and entire pack guarding him. If we have to fight, we should fight, but we have to resolve something by the end of the day.
If he wants to set terms and conditions, I will agree as long as they don't involve taking Clara away from me or putting my family in danger. I know Clara is happy here; she told me that but she is not completely happy. She must be worried about her father and he might do any time from now.
I don't want her to leave in fear. I want her to be completely happy when we are together. I don't want part of her attention to be devoted to what she has left behind or what her family thinks about her. That is why I have made up my mind.
I haven't talked to Clara about it but I have talked to Luther and Raul. They seem hesitant about my decision but they are ready to support me if I am determined on doing it. I am doing this for me, for Clara and our unborn child.
I haven't even prepared what I will day when I get there but I will just ask Fabian for his permission to have Clara and to let her live with me. I know that he won't allow that but that is the whole point of needing to meet him so that we can talk about the matter.
This can't go on forever. We need to settle this in one way or the other. I doesn't feel right having a father in law who is hunting and haunting me.
Clara and Katherine wanted to go shopping for groceries. Victoria couldn't miss the opportunity to join them, so they went together. I am sure that Clara will be safe with the two women. They are able to protect her incase of anything.
After doing all my duties, I feel useless that Clara is not in the house. At least I am confident that she is going to come back unless Fabian hijacks them on their way but that will be too much even for him.
A thought of going to meet Fabian without Clara crosses my mind. Our relationship is still delicate and I don't want to do things behind her back. She could get really angry with me or even hate me. Anything is possible but I don't want to take any chances.
We promised each other to face whatever comes our way together so I shouldn't leave her out. I know Fabian will try some of his tricks to coax her into doing what he wants but I won't let that happen. Clara is now strong and she is determined to sacrifice a lot for out relationship.
The chanting girls come back from their shopping. I tipped Victoria some money and asked her to coax Clara into buying some clothes and lingerie for wearing when she is staying here.
She doesn't have enough to wear when she is hear and all of her things are still at her father's house. Maybe if this meeting goes well, we might be able to move her things in here later.
I hear Clara's giggles and then my name being mentioned. I hope I am not the topic of the joke. Then I hear Raul's name being mentioned. Now I know I am not the topic of the joke. Are these girls talking about their partners? Anyway that is not doubtable. I wonder if Clara has told the them about the pregnancy.
"Welcome back," I tell Clara while engulfing my hands around her waist. She pecks me on the cheek and gives me the brightest of smiles. Katherine and Victoria wave her goodbye and they leave us alone.
"Did you have fun?" I ask her and she nods vigorously making me chuckle.
"What did you buy?" I inquire from her while staring at the many shopping bags in her hands.
"Many things. Do you want to check?" she says while placing the bags on the table. I nod and grab one bag. Carrots, spinach, tomatoes, onions... Nope! Wrong bag. I grab another one and check in it. Fish, packaged beef... another wrong bag.
Clara watches me with an amused smile as I go through the bags like a child whose mother is just from market.
"Tell me what you are looking for," she says and I wave her off. She laughs and then purses her lips to muffle her laughs. I can't help but laugh at myself too. Well, I found what I was looking for. They look very sexy. I can't wait for her to try them out for me.
I watch Clara as she carefully places the food in the pantry and fridge. When she finishes keeping the things well in the kitchen, she the turns to look at me.
"I think I have bought too much food. I don't think I will be able to finish it soon," she says.
"Don't worry about that. If it goes bad, we can always buy new ones," I tell her and she frowns.
"I feel bad about wasting food. I should be careful not to buy too much net time," she says.
"Maybe you should invite someone over sometime so that we can prepare a whole meal and the food won't go to bad. I am sure Emily would love to come over sometime," I say and her face beams.
"That's a good idea. We could have a lot of fun if she came over. I am sure the girl's would like her," she looks very thoughtful. I can see wheels turning in her head. I can guess that she is planning the whole layout of what they could do together if she came here.
Actually, talking about Emily reminds of Fabian and my plan to go and meet him today. I want to do it as soon as possible do that I can get it out of my mind otherwise it will keep bothering my head if I keep procrastinating.
I wonder if I should tell Clara about it right now. She looks so happy. I don't want to ruin her mood, but the earlier I tell her, the better.
Shit! How do I begin? Umm... Ah...
"Clara. I want to tell you something," I finally bring myself to open up. Shit! Why do I feel so guilt?
"Yes. What is it?" she asks. I look around is, but I have no idea what I am checking for. Clara's face frowns in concern when she notices my nervousness.
"Clara, I want to meet your father," I tell her and her eyes go wide.
"What? Why?" she asks me.
"To talk about the situation. To talk about us. The meeting might not yield a lot but you never know. We might be able to resolve something. Clara, I know that we are happy now but you are not completely happy. I know you worry about what your father might do anytime. I don't want that to bother you. I don't want us to live in fear," I tell her. She walks to me and holds both my hands in hers. She looks me in the eyes with a sincere look.
"If you are sure about it then it's fine with me. It's true that I worry about father's wrath but I don't want that fear to hinder our happiness," she says. Oh, that is why I love her! I give her a chaste kiss on the lips and she grabs my collar so that I don't pull away. I laugh against her lips while he wraps her hands around my neck to pull me closer so that she can kiss me properly.
As evening approaches, Clara and I have already prepared ourselves to go to her home and meet her family. She told me she is sure Fabian is at home at this time.
Luther asked if he could come along, just incase things get out of hand but I turned him down. We want to handle this situation on our own without involving my family or anyone else. If things go out of hand, I am sure I won't come home with broken bones. I will come back home safe and I will bring back Clara with me.
When we show up at Fabian's house, we are immediately surrounded by guards. I don't ask myself why this doesn't surprise me. I look at my girl. She looks very confident. She is ready to do this, and I am very proud of her.
Even if this meeting doesn't resolve anything, at least we will have tried to create the peace. We will leave it up to Fabian to either go on with his hatred or to give it up and move on.
I have given this enmity. It has lasted a good number of centuries and I think if is time to put it to rest. My parents are already long gone and there is nothing I can do to bring them back. I already did my revenge on Fabian a long time ago though the anger towards him had never resolved until I met Clara.
The day Clara entered my life, everything changed. She changed my attitude towards many things and my perception of things around me.
So today, if Fabian's perception also doesn't change then, it's up to him. I won't care anyway if he let's me have Clara because I already have her and she is mine. There is nothing he can do to change that.
I hold Clara's hand and give it a firm squeeze to assure her that we have got this, and since we are already here, we are not going back until we finish this.
