Chapter 81
Sansa's Pov
Logan stood around the red Ferrari, looking dashing in a black suit. They both shone in the bright sunlight. He was waiting for me as he always did.
My heart was breaking as I approached him; he was my first love, but I was not his.
He pulled out his shades to get a better look at me as he turned to face me. He couldn't take his gaze away from me for a second.
a fringe haircut on dark red hair and hazel-colored eyes. His endearing personality made him even more appealing. He was very romantic, and his masculinity captivated women.
I was walking towards him in a red Maxi that he had given me for my birthday two days before, even though I had never worn heels before.
He knew my preferences, my likes and dislikes, and everything about me. How could he remember such insignificant details about a friend when we never crossed the line of friendship?
"You look amazing," he said, causing my heart to race. His voice had a charm to it that made me want to listen to him over and over.
He opened the door for me, and I sat in the Ferrari. We used to talk a lot on the way, but this time we were both silent, surrounded by thoughts that surrounded our minds and kept us thinking about our good memories.
We were both inside our favorite restaurant, The Gallery Clove, in no time. He drew a chair for me, and I sat, and he sat across from me.
For the first time, we were both unsettled, and there were no words to bridge the gap between us.
"Hello, Ma'am and Sir, would you like to place an order?" Waiter Ben broke the strange silence by standing in front of us to take our orders. He was aware that we had been having lunch together in the same restaurant for years.
For the first time, I was listening to slow, soft romantic music in the background while other hard rock music used to play in the background.
"Well, you can order whatever you want." Logan was attempting to strike up a conversation with me.
"Um, I'm going to get a regular meal," I explained.
"What would you like, sir?" Ben, the waiter, inquired.
Logan was giving the waiter orders when my gaze shifted to his face. I wanted to stare at him for a long time, but as Logan met my gaze, I became uneasy and looked around.
Why was it only that day that I felt uneasy around Logan? Was it the dress I wore when I didn't usually wear that kind of dress, or was it because I just wanted Logan in my life and wanted to confess my feelings even though I knew he was in love with someone else?
I had no idea what was wrong with me; I suddenly felt a hot atmosphere, and my gaze wanted to follow Logan even though I was trying hard not to be a creep in front of him. After taking our order, Ben walked away.
"Is there something special going on today?" I inquired out of curiosity when he was looking particularly dashing.
"Every day is special," Logan responded, smiling.
Logan couldn't take his gaze away from me; we'd never felt uneasy around each other before that day. Strange feelings and vibes, as well as silence, I could tell he wanted to talk to me, but his lips were sealed.
"You look different today," I said, clearing the air of unease.
"Finally, you've noticed," he remarked.
"You never respond to me right away, always beating around the bush," I said as I sipped water from a glass.
"I'm going to confess to her tonight," he said with a wide smile, and I could see the shyness in his eyes.
"Oh, congratulations." I was happy for him and wished him the best in life.
"Will she accept me?" he wondered, a little nervously.
"Why would she not?" You are attractive, intelligent, and romantic, but you are an idiot." I teased him a little as I used to.
He appears shy and takes a few moments to respond. "I hope you mean it, minus the idiot word," he said nervously.
I had the impression that the most important person in my life would be separated soon, so I smiled even though my heart was breaking every second.
"You are my best friend, and to be honest, you are the most handsome person I have ever seen. And---," I was telling the truth when he cut me off in the middle.
"Then why did you always say that not every girl could fall for me?" He asked, looking me in the eyes, which made me nervous for a moment and set my heart racing.
Did I become entangled in my web? When I said that not every girl can fall for him, I was the first one.
"Fine, I retract my statement; any girl can fall for you," I said, avoiding eye contact with him while taking another sip of water.
"Did you ever?" When his gaze was fixed on mine, he asked abruptly.
I was speechless. Why was he interested in me when he already had a girlfriend and was planning to propose to her that night?
"I was saying that to make you confident, don't be nervous; if you're nervous, she'll dump you before your confession." After changing the subject, I laughed.
"No, she would not; I saw love in her eyes for me." Logan pretended to be confident as he drank the entire glass of water at once.
"How could you possibly know?" I inquired.
"I just know," he admitted shyly, winking at me.
He took me to places we used to go after lunch, and we both remembered the times we spent together.
That broke my heart to know that we would never be the same again after that day, that he would marry his girlfriend, and I would be left alone like I used to be.
I was never afraid of the worst possible scenario, but being alone was my worst nightmare.
I had trust issues with men because I had never dared to love anyone, but by the time I realized my feelings for Logan, who was always by my side, I had overcome them.
I never imagined the day would come when we would both have to say our final goodbyes.
We were both in a stage of life where we wanted to start a family and be with someone who loved us unconditionally. Logan had his first love, but mine was slipping through my fingers.
Logan was overjoyed when he was buying a bouquet for her while I was sitting in the car, wanting to get home so I could cry to relieve my heavy chest.
He pulled over outside the fancy restaurant as the sun set and the moon rose.
"I thought we were going home," I said
He got out of the car, took the bouquet from the car, and faced the restaurant for a few minutes, while I got out of the car and waited for his response.
"I need your assistance," he said nervously as he returned to me.
"Can you tell me what happened?" I was perplexed.
"She's inside, and I'm nervous," she said while He was inhaling the fragrance of the flowers.
I began to laugh aloud at his performance because I had never seen him so nervous before.
"Why are you laughing?" he inquired.
"I thought you were the most romantic, but I see you're the most scared," I said as we both laughed.
"I thought that would be the easiest task in the world, but I'm not sure why my heart is racing," he said, his voice trembling.
He took my hand in his and placed it in his heart; his heart was racing as fast as a bullet train, and my heart began to race as well when I looked into his eyes; we were both lost in the moment when neither of us broke the stare.
"Today it's faster than I expected," he said, looking at me. I had heard the cutest thing.
I didn't want to give him any hints about how I felt. When I started laughing, I pulled my hand away from his. He was always confident and full of charm, but for the first time, he was nervous.
"Are you worried she'll reject you?"
"Losing her will break me," he said honestly.
I could tell he adored her; she was the luckiest girl in the world.
"Don't worry; if your love is strong enough, she will return your love," I advised.
He kept looking at me with intense eyes. I was wondering what I said to get him hooked on me for minutes.
"All right, then I must try my luck," he said cheerfully.
"I hope you get what you want. I'm going to leave; I need some sleep," I said as I turned to walk away.
