Under The Moonlight: Alpha's Bride Chapter 78

Chapter 78 Sansa's Pov They were all sitting around the fire on a cold night when the stars shone brightly. They were dancing and singing to the melody of a broken guitar that had been damaged but not destroyed. Omega Hamza was singing in a sweet, melodic voice that touched everyone's heart, and Beta Kris was playing the guitar, which he was very good at. They were all having a good time and creating wonderful memories together. They were upbeat and full of life and energy. They were all hiding their fear and trauma from a few hours ago behind their smiles. They fought a battle with immortal creatures that they never expected to win. Vera was imprisoned in the dungeon, awaiting the conclusion of her trial. She had been chained once more and was unable to free herself. The oak pack protected their family, and they all survived together. How could they be so content and so grateful to be alive? They were together during the battle and afterward to lighten the mood as if nothing had happened. The bond was precious and strong enough to make them enjoy the moment. As a result, the Oak Pack was the most powerful in Underworld. They were rejoicing in the fact that they had been saved and protected after facing danger and massive destruction. They say that being with family can help you heal more than being alone, but in my case, the opposite was true. After my father died, the person who I called my grandfather wounded me. I tried everything to get his attention, but he never gave up; he treated me like trash, and he never loved me. He saw me as a burden. which he got rid of the day after my father died, and he threw me out of the house. I was abandoned on the dark street to die. He never found me, as if I didn't exist. I used to curse myself for being alive when I was on the verge of death and decided to commit suicide. I had no desire to continue living in a world full of monsters and people with multiple faces, where disloyalty had become their duty when their hearts and consciences were already dead from the inside. When I was living on the street, I hoped for even one act of kindness from a stranger as thousands passed by without noticing my plight. I used to wonder where all of the nice people lived. Were they even alive or not in the world when they all became selfish with time? The night view from the balcony was best when the sky was bright with a beautiful half-moon and full of stars. When my hair brushed against my face, the cold breeze touched my skin. I was still wearing the white coat Amara had given me for the funeral. Fortunately, Xavier's room was not destroyed. When I was tired, I was standing on the balcony, and my legs gave out when I was giddy. I wanted to sleep for a long time, but the anxiety wouldn't let me. That was a long, exhausting, and traumatic day. Creaking! My attention was drawn to Xavier. He entered the room in his wheelchair, locked the door with the key, and placed it in his pocket. "What are you doing?" My voice was shaking. He treated me as if I didn't exist. When I was watching his back, he shifted himself from a wheelchair to the bed. "You must be upset with me, don't you?" Xavier asked calmly. When I was trying to keep my storm inside, I didn't say anything. How could he expect me not to be angry at him after ruining my life? kept me as a hostage and threatened me whenever he wanted. "You have a lot to learn; you've never been in a pack before; I understand," he said. I was astounded that he knew something I had never told anyone. I was curious about how much he knew about me. "Living among humans does not make you one of them; you have no idea how much we despise humans because of our bad history with them." He spoke softly. "I claimed you as my bride even though you are half-human, but what did I get in return? Hatred, cruelty, piercing eyes, and cursed words behind my back." He spoke softly. What was he going to say? What prompted him to start talking about humans? I was perplexed by his topics of conversation. I was concerned about the locked door, even though he had the key. I couldn't figure out why he was talking about something unrelated. For a brief moment, he remained silent, and I wondered what he would say next. "Why were you in the jungle?" He asked calmly, which made me think twice before speaking. "I heard a voice in the jungle and went to check," I said confidently "Why were you in the jungle?" He asked again as if I had never responded. He once asked me the same question several times before attacking me with the knife to attract the vampires. On the day I returned from meeting Elodie, I was worried about what he would do right now. As I drew the pistol and aimed at him behind his back with my shivering hands, my heart began to race. "I already told you," I said, my voice trembling. "WHERE WERE YOU IN THE JUNGLE?" He was irritated. I wanted to kill him immediately. As he looked over his right shoulder, I quickly hid my pistol in my pocket. The weapon I kept close by in case of a life-threatening situation "I heard a voice in——-" My voice was trembling. Suddenly, his hand tightened around my neck, and my hair flew through the air as he slammed me against the wall in a flash. My heart seemed to travel to my throat. My eyes popped open, and goosebumps spread across my body. The pain in my body was the most excruciating. It took me a few moments to realize what had happened to me. He was squeezing my cheeks and staring at me angrily. standing so close. At that moment, I see his frightened expression. "Leave me alone!" I screamed as I struggled to break free, but his grip was too tight for me to breathe. When I was helplessly trying to save myself from a psychopath, I was at the top of his list when I was his target for going against his will. I could feel the heat of his body on me because he was so close. When my heart was about to explode, sweat was all over my body. when my legs gave out on me. "I said leave me alone," I yelled through my lungs as I was struggling to breathe. "Sssshhhhh....."  When he leaned closer to my ear, he was serene. He couldn't stand on his legs in front of the pack while pretending to be injured; instead, he stood as if he had never been injured. I was wondering what game he was playing at the time. "How could you?" He was looking into my eyes, and the calmness on his face terrified me. The calmer he was, the more brutal and terrifying he became. That much I knew because I was there with him. "I despise those who even consider betraying me; fleeing when I provided you with the largest mansion and the most luxurious lifestyle is a heinous crime. I gave you the freedom to speak back to me; I gave you everything, so why don't you just go along with it?" Not only did my body shiver, but so did my soul at his terrifying behavior towards me, which I had not expected from the psychopath alpha who pretended to be the nicest. "WHY?" When he shouted, "Give me the damn answer," I jumped in fear. "I don't.... want to live here; I wanna go... back," I said, shakily, after gathering the courage to speak. "But you belong here. This is your home, your family, and I am your husband—not yet technically, but you will be with me forever." He said it sweetly. When I was suffering from the life he had created for me, tears streamed down my cheeks. "I've never had a woman in my life; you are the first and will be the last," He said without emotion, feeling, or sincerity in his voice. When the thought of being with him triggered me, I clenched my fist in rage. "Keeping someone against their will is not the right way; it will not work even if you believe you will not gain anything by making me your hostage." I was about to erupt in rage. "It's fine with me even if you don't love me; I'm not going to ask you to love me; I just want you around me because you're my bride and only I have a right to you," he explained. "So I chose death over being with you." I spat a bitter truth while daring to look him in the eyes, which triggered him even more. "Then die," he said shamelessly. We both looked into each other's eyes; I stood bravely while shivering in fear on the inside, and there was silence before the disaster. "I tried not to force you; I didn't want to be the dominant guy here, but you leave me no choice," He said as he began to grin. I could see what he was thinking in his lustful eyes; he had warned me earlier in the jungle. He didn't care if I died or lived, but the lustful man was never concerned. That was when the life-threatening situation that I was smelling arrived. Slowly, my right hand reached into my pocket to pull out the pistol.
