Under The Moonlight: Alpha's Bride Chapter 86

Chapter 86 Xavier's Pov My hands were on her back to keep her from falling to the ground while she was in my arms. My heart began to race as if it were about to burst. "Sansa?" When I called her name, she did not respond. I carried her to the bed. "Sansa?  Hey? Sansa! open your eyes?" My voice was trembling as I shook her face. I was insane from the panic attack I was having, which I never had in the most important battles. I had no idea what to do to get her to open her eyes; her condition was making me concerned about her, even though I had been careless my entire life. I dashed over to the balcony to yell for help louder, but I stopped myself as I watched them all having a good time in the garden together, despite the trauma of the wild creatures they had encountered. I was about to yell for help without regard for their amusement. The door had already knocked, and I held myself back. Amara was there when I rushed over to open the door with my hurting body. She offered me a glass of juice. "I brought some a—-." When I cut her off in the middle, Amara said "I require your assistance." I was irritated. "What happened?"  Amara wondered as she watched me panic. She stood there watching Sansa as I opened the door to let her in. "We were talking when she collapsed unexpectedly; do something." I couldn't speak because my breathing was labored. "You need to calm down first, I'll call Kris," Amara rushed out of the room. Every second became difficult for me to breathe, and my chest felt heavy. I sat on the chair next to the bed, unable to control my nerves. They said I was the most brutal Alpha, but what was wrong with me when I only became upset when she collapsed? I had never been afraid of anything in the world except I realized what I was afraid of for the first time. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to hurt you; I just wanted to keep you by my side because I don't know how to make you stay," I reached for her face but stopped myself from touching her. "Why are you so obstinate? Why can't you just stick around with me? Why?  Stop forcing me to pay attention to you; I don't want to." When my heart hurts, I shed a single tear. I had no idea I would become so attached to her. Her worse condition made me realize how much I valued the unknown bride. I reached out to take her hand but stopped myself because I felt helpless. The law bound us both, but she needed some time to adjust. And I needed her the most during my darkest days. Kris arrived with Amara, and she told him about Sansa's condition. Kris examined Sansa's veins and her entire body. "She's sweating; take her coat off," said Kris. I didn't want to touch Sansa because she didn't like it when I did. "What exactly are you doing?" Hurry!" Amara told me My hands shivered in fear of losing Sansa, the only woman I wanted to keep close to me. I sat next to Sansa on the bed and embraced her in my arms while removing a white coat from her. I was nervous, avoiding her face getting too close to mine. Kris was checking her condition while I watched her sadly, feeling guilty for scaring her; nobody had ever gotten closer to me, and I had never let anyone get closer to me before. I was the Alpha of the pack, whom they blindly followed, so what made Sansa different? Why didn't she realize she had to spend the rest of her life with the pack and with me? "Xavier?" My attention was drawn to Kris, who had called me twice to get my attention. "Yes," I said. "Are you okay?" he inquired. "I'm fine; how about her?" I was terrified. "What did she eat?" Kris inquired of me "I'm not sure," I was clueless, "What happened to her?" "It's just restlessness; she'll be fine," Kris assured. "I was scared to see Xavier panic more than Lady Sansa fainted," Amara joked about me. Amara's attention was drawn to Sansa as she placed the pillow beneath her head. "She just needs a good night's sleep and some food, Buddy; you need to take care of yourself as well, Let me examine your wound," Kris said. "No, I'm fine," I replied slowly. "Are you sure?" Kris inquired. "Yes, I am," I said. "Alright, call me if anything bothers you," Kris said before leaving the room. "You should change her dress into a nightgown; she might be uncomfortable in that tight dress," Amara said as she walked towards the door to leave the room. I grabbed Amara's hand unexpectedly. "I can't change her dress," I said in a broken voice as I pondered a reason not to touch Sansa. "Why?  You can do that for her because she is your wife." Amara stated "I'm sorry, but I can't." I was at a loss for words when I couldn't come up with a compelling reason to refuse. "What is the problem?" Amara inquired, perplexed when she suspected I was concealing something. "I am... I'm not feeling well; it would be difficult for me to change her dress when I can barely move my body." I avoided making eye contact with her. "Oh, sorry, you're right; let me change her dress for you," Amara said as I walked over to the wardrobe. Amara selected an attractive short-sleeved red nightgown and showed it to me while she was already deciding. "No, that's not a good option because she dislikes short gowns. Bring enough to cover her completely; otherwise, she will freeze at night." My voice was nervously shaking. "It's your job to keep her warm," Amara teased, then smiled and turned her face back to me. When I wasn't ready to talk about Sansa and my relationship, her mischievous eyes spoke volumes. "Find a decent gown," I said, ignoring her. Amara stated. "That was my favorite," While looking for another gown in the closet "I told you not to buy short nightgowns," I said. "This was the only option I had while shopping for your bride; the nightgown should be too seductive to wear," Amara said with a smile. "But I disagree with your choice, as does Sansa, who does not wear these." I teased her as I moved to the bookshelf to avoid her. To avoid Amara and Sansa, I pretended to look through the books on the shelf. "You should have considered Lady Sansa before venturing into the jungle to fight those wild creatures," Amara suggested. "I wanted to stop them from harming any of the pack members, but I couldn't stay back," I explained, holding a book and pretending to read when my face was turned away from Amara. "You are no longer alone; she is your wife, and it is best that you both love each other; whatever decision you make, keep in mind that you now have a wife." Amara expected me to be a good husband. "She approves of every decision I make," I said when I was the only one who knew the truth about our toxic relationship. I was working hard to establish a good relationship with her, but Sansa was obstinate. "She might be, but you need to take care of that; just think about her; don't rush any decisions; you have her responsibility now; just think about how she got hurt when you ignored everyone, including her, and went to the jungle in your worst condition to fight wild creatures; she might have been afraid to lose you." Amara's voice was gentle. Any loyal wife would have felt the way Amara described, but it was Sansa who wanted to get rid of me because she hated being around me. If I had already died, she would have been relieved to regain her freedom. "I'll think about it," I said as I turned to look at Sansa's milky skin on her shoulder, which Amara was about to remove the dress from. when Sansa was sitting and Amara was taking her dress off. My heart started racing, and the book I was holding began to shiver. I wanted to flee before I saw her completely naked. I turned away before becoming addicted to the view, but it was difficult to keep myself from turning to her. "At the very least, assist me in changing her dress," Amara said as she struggled to dress Sansa. "I'm not feeling any better! I believe I require some fresh air," I said nervously as I exited the room without looking at Sansa or Amara. My heart was still racing as if I had run 1000 miles in seconds. I was experiencing a strange sensation that I had never experienced before. I was curious as to what was wrong with me.
