SCHOOL OF PRIEST
Wake up sleepy head" I heard my dad say,he was moving the truck to park.
"We are here" he said with satisfaction in his voice, I rubbed my sleepy eyes and temple,
"I think i'm going to have a headache".
"Wow"I exclaimed.
"School of Priest" I said reading out loud the sign post at the gate.
School of priests was really a big school, it was painted in Ash, a lighter shade of ash at the top close to the roof, the darker shade at the bottom close to the marble on the tiles ground.
We walked in with my luggage in my dad's hands, we saw a student neatly dressed in that same color as the school painting.
They look so clean with their white socks and black shoes.
The boys had their dark Ash pants on and a lighter Ash top tucked inside their pants.
While the ladies were in the same shade but they were on skirts, I loved the way they looked on it.
They all had a long knotted tie on their neck,matching color with their pants and skirts .
I felt excited to be here, it was a new whole start for me, nobody knew me here,They didn't know the shit I've passed through.
As we walked, we came closer to the administrative office for the checking of required documents and items to be brought to school.
They did, I was angry when they made my dad take back my hair conditioners, "jeezz " I sighed out rolling my eyes, how was I supposed to take care of this hair.
I got my uniform and I was taken to my personal dorm.
" Room number:21" the Rev sister said cheerfully.
"Thanks" my dad said gratefully as he collected the keys.
He handed them over to me, he helped me find the room number assigned to me, we could never get lost here cause of the direction sign everywhere.
When we got to my dorm it was so quiet, there was no one around "Room No:21" my dad pointed as he dragged my box to the front door.
"Keys!" He requested I hand him the keys.
My room wasn't that bad, I was to sleep alone cause it had just one bed, it was neatly dressed with a white sheet.
The room looked small but very well manageable, as far as I was the only one here, I didn't lay a single complaint.
My bed was so soft and comfortable as I sat on it, my room was painted purple inside with alot of stickers.
The huge clock hanging close to the wall had a picture of Jesus Christ on it.
Near my bed was a picture of Mother Mary and near my small window that allowed me to have a very good view of the whole school was a picture of the"Holy Family."
"You're going to do just fine," my dad started,after scanning the room.
" I know dad" I smiled with my face down,I felt a grip on my hand suddenly, my dad kneeling before me as he said a silent prayer.
Guess it was time for him to
leave as two Rev sisters were already standing in front of my door that was unlocked.
"Say your goodbyes, it's time for you to leave sir" one of them said those words pierced my heart, I didn't want him to go,guess he had to.
"Always be yourself no matter what, make new friends and always be happy" he gave me a quick kiss on the head, I nodded as he stood up to leave.
" I love you Dad" I muttered under my breath, I felt the tightness in my throat and the wetness in my eyes,I couldn't hold them any longer.
Dad smiled, I stood up as he wrapped me in a warm hug
"God loves you more, never forget that" I nodded,he released me and stepped out of the room almost in tears.
I was on my own now, it was just me now ,I felt so alone. I missed them, I missed them so very much ,as I wiped the tears that rolled down my cheeks.
