I feel like someone is following me. When we left our house, I felt like someone was watching over us. Even though I dropped Lyndon and Layzen off at their schools, I can still feel it. The feeling of being watched.
I am uncomfortable with it, and I find it very uncomfortable. That, it feels like it won't do me good. Being watched does not do any good for anyone. In dramas, they will either kidnap someone or follow their target because they are being observed.
I fished out my phone and dialed someone who I could see. When I saw Archane's name on the list, I immediately called him. We don't talk much on messages or calls, but I need it now.
"He—"
"Where are you?" I cut him before he could even finish his lines.
"At the snack bar, why? Miss me?" Archane retorted.
I can't help but grimace. "Can you fetch me now? Can you?" I asked.
"Why should I fetch you? Why bother calling me when you can call—"
"I think someone is following me. I feel weird. Can you fetch me? I am still in the school street." I interrupted him again.
"I am on my way," he answered. "Don't end the call. Let's talk while I am on my way. Make sure to go with people." he added.
"Okay, thank you." I told him.
"Boss! Out for a while. I will work overtime later." I heard Archane exclaim, and the bell chimed, saying he had already left the Snack Bar.
The Snack Bar is close to here. I made a good choice to call him. Since his name starts with the letter A, I can't even scroll to call Zarsuelo because his name is at the end.
After five minutes, I saw Archane still wearing the Snack Bar uniform. I waved my hand for him to notice me if he did not.
"Do you think they are still following you?" Archane asked.
I nodded. Showing him my arms with my hair standing because of the weirdness I am feeling right now. "Since we went out of our house and after I dropped the two, I still feel that someone is watching me," I answered. "I don't know if someone is watching me, but why do I feel like someone is watching me? I am too uncomfortable." I added.
Archane throws the helmet at me. "Wear it. I will send you off to your boyfriend's company." he said.
"You will go there, still wearing the Snack Bar uniform?" I asked.
He nodded confidently. "Of course! I need to attract new customers and for your boyfriend's employees to come and eat at our Snack Bar." he added, emphasizing the word boyfriend.
I rode on his motorcycle, and he sent me in front of the Grand Finance. I see Tyler looking confused about why I am hanging on someone's motorcycle.
"Thank—"
"Let's go." this time. He is the one who interrupted me.
"And where to? We are already here, aren't we?" I asked back, also confused by his behavior.
"You made me your bodyguard today. I need to send you off in front of him to pass the duty on to your boyfriend." he replied, and he held the end of my jacket and gently pulled me to enter the Grand Finance.
"Who is he?" Tyler asked the moment we entered the security pass.
"She will explain it later to you. Let us pass for now." Archane answered instead of me.
He didn't even let go of me until I guided him to Zarsuelo's office because that was what he wanted.
"Good... morning, wife, and unexpected visitor?" He was confused too.
"I am here to send your girlfriend. I meant no harm," he replied, raising both his hands in defeat. "To explain my side, your girlfriend called me to fetch her, and I decided to send her here. Tell your employees to come and eat at the Snack Bar to pay me, okay?" Archane added.
I can't even say anything because I don't know what to express or tell him.
"I will pass the duty to you, Matthew. I will go now. Traizle, you owe me twice now." He added, and headed out straight, not waiting for us to answer him nor even looking at us for the last time.
"Did something happen?" Zarsuelo asked.
I turned to him and sat on his couch. "I called him to fetch me on my way to Grand Finance." I started to share.
He approached and sat beside me. "Why?" He asked.
"When we left our house on our way to Lyndon and Layzen's school, I thought someone was following us. I still feel it after sending the two. That is why I called him." I replied.
"Then why did you call him instead of me?" He asked again.
"He is first on the list. Your name is at the very end of my contact list." I answered honestly.
He quickly fished out my phone in my pocket. "You save me as Zarsuelo in your contacts too?" He asked.
"What should I name you there?" I asked back.
He didn't even answer me. He was already busy typing on my phone. "There," he replied, showing me the name he had saved on my phone. "You should name me like this, not just Zarsuelo." he added before handing my phone over to me.
He named himself 'A husband.' He made sure to be the first one in my contacts.
"And what happened to you? Do you want me to investigate?" He asked.
I shake my head in disagreement. "No, you don't have to." I answered.
"But it is all about your safety. Just let me do it for you. If someone has bad intentions towards you, we can make a solution for that this instant. We also need to ensure your brothers' safety." he explained.
If my prediction is correct, they have evil intentions for us. I need to make sure of their safety first. "Can you help me?" I asked.
He smiled before he nodded. "There is a way to make you agree—and it is to use your brothers." he answered.
I don't want to take a risk and put them in danger. No way. Never. I will pay him with respect, kindness, or whatever it takes to repay my debt. I told myself I wouldn't ask for anything that included money, but this was important, and I could take a risk to ensure their safety.
"I will ask my uncle to ask his men to investigate the CCTV near you these past few days. I will tell you the result after a while. Don't worry too much, and we will keep an eye on your brothers," he said. "Maybe this is how God wants to tell you." he added.
What does God want to tell me? That what? "Way to what?" I asked.
"I think of a great idea," he answered excitedly. He was smiling ear to ear. "This is giving you a sign for you to live with me." he added.
I can't afford to load up at his house. Not now. I don't want to take advantage of his wealth. Until I can do it and come up with a solution, I will do it.
"Don't share your high-paid ideas, Zarsuelo. I am not buying it." I told him.
He pouted. "I thought you would agree too," he replied. "Can I just sleep at your house for days? I want to make sure of your safety." he added.
Our house was bigger than it was, I asked him to sleep in our house, but it was not. He won't be able to move too much since it is small. It is like we will be the tuna inside the canned goods.
"What do you think? Will you agree with me sleeping at your house?" He asked again.
"You might feel uncomfortable in our house, which is too small for you." I told him.
His eyes widen. "Will you let me sleep at your house?" He asked.
"If our house was a little bigger, I think I could let you in, but it is not. You might feel uncomfortable." I answered.
"No," he replied. "There is no way I will feel uncomfortable in your house. And even if it is, there's no more uncomfortable place than my house since I am all alone." he added.
"I will let you sleep in our house if I can still feel that he or she is still watching over us." I told him.
His smile widens. "No offense, but I want them to watch you tonight and for me to sleep over at their house," he answered. "I can save you guys, trust me. I know martial arts, and I am pretty capable, you know." he added.
I hope that I am wrong or I am just overthinking.
Lord, guide us, especially my brothers.
