THE LYCAN'S DUEL Chapter 62

I was sound asleep in my room when my heart gave me a thug. Even though I was awake now, I remained seated. I was not paying attention to the unsettling sensation in my body. My expression was frowning as I looked around the space. I thought I was sound asleep, but I'm not sure how I'm able to wake up at this point. Something seems to be happening, in my opinion. I have a strange feeling in my stomach. I instantly got up and took the duvet off of my body because I was uncomfortable. I was experiencing heart palpitations, and I was positive that Lucius was going through something. I sense that he's in danger since I could smell the hazards that were lingering in the air, hear his worry, and feel his discomfort. I made an effort to ignore it, but I failed. It seemed as though the sensation was lodged in my ears and thoughts. I got out of bed and went to his room because I knew I had to check on him to make sure everything was right. As soon as I heard the noises of objects falling and the stench of rogues, I instantly frowned. My eyes were watering from shock, and I was at a loss for words. My entire body tensed up. I was relieved that I arrived on time because I knew he was in danger. I was aware that since he hasn't fully developed his powers, he might not stand a chance against them. I knew the rogues had to be aware of it. As soon as I entered his room, I opened the door, and I was astounded by what I saw. I witnessed some rogues holding Lucius down, and one of them—who appeared to be their leader—had a sword in his hands with blood streaming down it. I looked at Lucius's arm and saw that he had a cut on his hand, so I knew that blood belonged to him. Until I rushed toward the man who appeared to be their leader, nobody seemed to be aware of my presence. My intention was to chop off the leader's head, but instead I got my claws into the heart of one of the outlaws who took the fall for their boss. I peered at them, waiting for the ideal moment to attack, not realizing they were aware of my presence. I saw the rogues tightening their grip on Lucius's hand as he attempted to escape their control. They all turned to face me, but the people clutching Lucius' hands continued to cling to him in terror. They made a concerted effort to hide the fact that they were trembling as they looked at me. I remarked coolly, examining my eyes as I gave them a little enraged look. "You should leave when you still have the chance," I murmured. After seeing my partner's blood, I was attempting to maintain my composure, but it was practically impossible because I felt like a twig was breaking. I understood that things wouldn't turn out the way I wanted them to if I acted out of rage. I was aware that if I fought them off irrationally, I might get wounded. "You are outnumbered and going to get hurt—look who's talking. One of them said, "I will advise you to leave now before you get hurt," to which the others all chuckled. "Alright, I'll depart as you have instructed," I said, turning to go. I was aware that they might have believed that I was going to go and that I had the upper hand because they were unaware of my status as the leader of this pack. I caught sight of Lucius's transformed expression of amazement as I cast a quick glance at him. I was aware that he wasn't anticipating that I would abandon him to the rogues. I motioned for him to get up while I suddenly launched an unexpected attack on them. When they spoke to me, they all turned to face Lucius, seeing how afraid I was. Unexpectedly, I released my alpha's auras and charged toward them. They were taken aback by that, but Lucius and I started battling them before they could respond. They were shocked that they had the opportunity to assault us at all. After a little while, there appeared to be just one remaining member, who appeared to be their leader. I asked, peering at their rogue leader, who laughed, "Who sent you?" The rogue's leader answered, "I will rather die than tell you who sent us," and I grinned while glancing at him. "You will regret ever messing with me by the time I'm done with you," I shot back, carrying him as I made my way toward the pack's house while my eyes were bright with rage. "Where are you taking him to?" I didn't answer Lucius when he asked, trying to keep up with my speed as he walked after me. "I said with a serious expression in my eyes, somewhere he will regret going; he will have no choice but to answer my questions; he will be begging me by the time I'm done with him." After I was through with this, I was positive the rogue would tell me who sent him. I was aware that Alpha Aiden was probably the source of the rogues. I was aware that he was upset that Lucius had defeated him. Even though I was aware that the charges might not be true, I still wanted to make sure. I understood that accusing him without proof would not be good. I was aware that the information the head council had given me the day before regarding Alpha Aiden working for him was accurate, but I don't think Alpha Aiden would collaborate closely with someone who wished to support my friend. I was aware that Aiden is an alpha and that he is difficult to mislead. Although I had no say in the matter, I realized that there must be something going on between the two of them. I will never admit that I have suspicions about the top council. I knew I would have no backing from anyone. Nobody would want to interact with me because they would all believe I had gone nuts. I was aware that the people who would stand with me were the same ones who already knew me. I was confident that both my parents and my betas and gamma would be there for me. They're all aware that Alpha Aiden isn't someone who should be taken lightly because he does things that make one pause, and I suspected he was the one who dispatched the rogues. I was aware that I might know or have a gut feeling that he was the one, but I won't stand by him until I have hard proof. I remarked, "You better start talking now," and the rogue gave me a sly look. I heard him say, "None of this would work; you will be wasting your time," and I gave him a menacing smirk since I knew he wouldn't be able to take it. I was aware that no one could have defended him or herself from my torment, and I also knew that he would not be left out.
