THE LYCAN'S DUEL Chapter 67

Thorne "To discuss a pressing issue, I called you all here," I replied quietly, my eyes fixed on their expressions. "You all can remember the boy who won the duel." I furrowed my brow and turned to stare at them. After I was done talking, I knew they would all have reasons to despise Lucius, but I was also certain that they would all side with me. I calmly said, "His name is Lucius; he is a threat to us and is an impending danger to our authority," and they all looked puzzled. I grinned to myself, knowing they would all want to know how deadly he was. One of the council members asked, "How is he a threat to us?" I gave him a furious stare. I was astounded that he would dare to cut me off before I could say anything further. "He demanded everyone present bend their heads to him the last time we had an encounter at the duel, if you all recall. "He made some of you submit to him; do you think it's that easy?" I spoke quietly, but there were ominous vibes all around me. "I see no reason why he is a threat to us; he was put in an uncomfortable position, and if I were the one also, I would have done that." "He performed admirably outside, and there are no issues with him," stated the same council member who had spoken before. A few members of the council agreed by nodding their heads, but they were afraid to speak. My temper started to flare, and I was left wondering what to do. Given that he had council members on his side, I realized that things wouldn't be simple. I was aware that it appeared as though he was winning; he always seemed to have people on his side. I have the impression that everything I have been doing is in vain. As long as I don't give up, I firmly believe that it won't be in vain. I feel that if I continue to be forgiving of him, then all the council members will think well of him, and that is something I do not want. The only thing I want is for him to fail. If he died, everything would return to normal, which is what I want. "He poses a threat to all of us; members of each pack are no longer safe; he is coming for my throne soon; there is no way he would take a seat as an alpha." I hope you see things the way I do. He would go about using his auras to make people submit to him, and you all won't be able to escape his wrath," I stated. "You are wrong; you seem to be taking his matter harshly." He said it again, and I moaned loudly. "You seem to have hatred for him; if this is what you want to talk about, then I'm out of here," he replied. It was astounding to me that he already had the trust of the werewolf council without having to strive to earn it. The possibility that things might not turn out the way I wanted them to hurt. It would all be for nothing, whatever I had believed I had accomplished over the years. I continued, "Those who don't believe what I've said should leave." Immediately, five people got up and departed the area. Knowing that there was no way I would allow him to get to the other pack members made me feel at my hottest point. I gave their retreating figure a look as they departed. The ones that remained are the ones I started. those that are within my reach. I was aware that I had nothing left to say to them. "Meeting dismissed," I declared, furiously getting to my feet. I left the conference room of the werewolf council with a straight face. I entered my office feeling like I was surrounded by hazardous auras. I was in disbelief at what was occurring. Why won't people accept my assessment that Lucius poses a threat to us? I had no doubt that he had won them over and that their hearts had grown softer toward him. I was aware that I would be unable to incite their hatred toward him. I was aware that I would be unable to persuade them otherwise. As soon as I entered my office, there was a knock on the door. I recognized my beta by taking a whiff of the air. I said, "Come in." "What news do you bring me?" Knowing that he couldn't possibly come here empty-handed, I questioned him impatiently. I looked at him questioningly as I got up. "I have found a perfect day to set the attack," he stated. He continued, "It would be sudden, and they won't be able to retaliate," and I grinned broadly, knowing that things would soon turn out in my favor. "Alpha Freya is going on a trip with him next week, and I will suggest that you attack him there." Before long, he would be dead, and nothing would stand in my way of achieving my goals. Just like I had killed his father, I would murder him too. Rather than trying to stir up problems, he ought to have stayed quiet in the pack I took him to. He tossed that in my face, even though I was prepared to give him another chance. He would be sorry if he ever bothered with him. I would see to it that he regretted ever visiting Freya's pack. He would be sorry if he disregarded his former fiancée. I told him, "You can go now; I'll call you if I need any information," and he bowed before walking away. Knowing that he would definitely not be able to avoid death this time made me smile with delight. I would see to it that my finest warriors were sent. He will find the death he has been searching for for so long. He would be sorry if he ever bothered me.
