THE LYCAN'S DUEL Chapter 53

Freya I couldn't help but keep giving Lucius cold shoulders. I felt like this wasn't something I wanted to do. I was giving him cold shoulders because I wanted to be sure that none of this was their plan. I felt like there was something going on between Selene and her. I feel like Selene was after something, and the same goes with Lucius. I watched curiously as the fight between him and Stephen ensued. I knew that Stephen wouldn't take it easy with him. I knew that he would want him to give up, and I knew that the only way he could do that was to hurt him. I knew that Lucius wouldn't give up easily, and I instantly regretted ever giving him cold shoulders. I was shocked by Lucius's improvements when he first fought today, but I knew that all that glitters ain't gold, and I knew that he might not be able to hold up against Stephen. I felt my blood run cold as I thought of what would happen. Lucius is going to get hurt by the fact that he isn't as strong as Stephen is. My face turned pale as I stared at those who were seated close to the ring, and my eyes landed on that of Alpha Aiden, who has a smirk on his face. He stared at me with a smile, which I found creepy. His eyes pierced through mine, and he looked at me like he could read through me. I could feel goosebumps form on my body. He pointed his hand at Lucius and made a gesture with his hands, which he made like he wanted to cut his head off. I could feel my body turn cold, and I started sweating immediately. I knew what he meant, and that was that he was going to kill him without mercy. He had a victorious smile on his face before turning to look at him with a smile on his face. He seems to be happy with my reaction. I knew that what he wanted me to feel was what I was feeling. I couldn't help but feel scared that he might kill Lucius. I knew he was ruthless, but I didn't expect him to have a feud with Lucius, and I knew with no doubt that this was all a plan. I knew he wanted to get rid of him so that he wouldn't be a problem to him after he won. I knew that this was where he wanted to go, but there is no way I will be telling Lucius this. I knew that he wouldn't allow that to happen, and he might want to confront him before tomorrow. I won't want him to think that I wanted him to back out of the fight. I feel like I was thinking in a selfish way; I couldn't help but feel bad about the whole thing. I feel like this is something I should have expected. I knew things wouldn't be good, but I tried hard to believe everything would be alright. I was too foolish to know that things wouldn't add up like I wanted. I know that I don't want him to fight in the duel, and a part of me wants him to fight and prove himself worthy of being with me, but I don't know which path I should take. I knew that I should have chosen a way that would make things easier. There is no way I'm going to let anything unexpected happen. I feel like this is a threat. I haven't felt confused like this in my whole life. I felt the need to be with my mate, but I knew the implications. I knew that he might not win the duel and might end up getting killed. I knew that he might not want to give up easily on fighting to be with me, but there is no way I would allow that. I was lost in thoughts, but I was jolted out of my thoughts with the cheers of the crowd who were here to watch the duel. I snapped out of my thoughts, and I concentrated on what was going on. My eyes widened in shock at the sight. Lucius was on the floor, bleeding on his head, and Stephen was towering over him with a triumphant look on his face. My heart was beating rapidly as I stared at his figure, who was lying on the floor with blood covering his body. I felt the need to go into the ring to fight Stephen, but I knew that doing that wasn't a good idea. I managed to calm myself down in such a way that I could only stare at him with tears dripping down my eyes. He has never been injured in any of the fights he has had with anybody, and this is the first time for him to get so much injury. I couldn't help but think of what had happened. I felt like there was something hidden that was used in this fight. I knew that no one noticed anything wrong in the fight, but I did. I stared at Stephen angrily while trying to sniff out what was weird about him. I feel like something is wrong, but I couldn't pinpoint it. The last time I remember Lucius was holding up against him and he had the upper hand, then why did he suddenly fall to the floor? I sighed heavily after a while of searching, but I couldn't find it. I turned to look at Seraphina with raised eyebrows, and with a quivering tone, I asked her the question. "What the hell is going on?" I asked while staring at her with curiosity written on her face. I had cleaned up the tears in my eyes. "He used some skills against him; there is nothing suspicious; Lucius doesn't want to give up; look," she said, pointing at Lucius, who was now on his feet. He staggered toward Stephen, and he carried him, and with that, he threw him out of the ring. I smiled happily, and I couldn't help but be glad that nothing out of the blue happened. I was glad that he was able to win the fight, but I could tell that he was exhausted. I stood up from where I was seated, and I walked toward his direction with a worried expression on my face. He walked out of the ring and headed toward his room. "Lucius," I called, and he turned to look at me. I hugged him tightly, and after a while, he winced. I released him from the hug, and I kissed him passionately. I haven't been this happy in my whole life. I was glad that he won the fight and, most especially, that he was back on his feet even though he was injured. I broke the kiss when I heard the clearing of throats behind us. We are close to his room, and we were the only ones there before. I knew that everyone was at the pack square, where the duel was taking place. I turned back, and my eyes darkened with anger, seeing that it was Selene. Sbe stood at our back with a worried look on her face. "Are you alright?" she asked Lucius while staring at him with a worried expression on her face. "Yes, I'm fine," he replied, and I knew that things wouldn't be good if this continued. I stared at Selene and then at Lucius. I couldn't help but think of what to do or say to make them stop talking and take him to his room. I don't want her to know about the room. "He needs to watch all these, and you don't have to worry; you can leave to watch the remaining match. I bet you won't want to miss watching it," I said to her, and she nodded her head. "See you later, Lucius," she said, and while saying his name, his name rolled out of her mouth seductively. I stared at her as she walked away while swaying her hips. I couldn't help but wonder what she was trying to do. I can remember how she hugged him yesterday with her hands lingering on his body. I felt jealous while watching them, but I couldn't do anything. "I'm glad you won today. I feel happy, but I feel scared. You should be careful," I said to him as we both walked to his room. "You don't have to feel scared about anything; I'm going to scale through everything with the moon goddess' wish. There is no way fate can be changed; if you were destined to be mine, then you would. The moon goddess won't let us be apart if we are meant for each other," he said, and I nodded my head while hoping that it should be the moon goddess' wish for us to be together. "You need to have a shower; I will select the clothes you are going to wear before you are out of the bathroom," I said to him, and he nodded his head before walking away.
