Thea's Point of View
Month of January.
Because of the cold, I rubbed my two hands together. I had no idea the new year and Christmas had passed. Except for Cray, I don’t have anyone around me to celebrate. I declined Megan’s invitation to their home since I didn’t want to disrupt their family gathering. If I did that, I would just appear to be an outsider.
I spent Christmas alone. Craig asked if Cray could spend Christmas with him, and I didn’t want to say no because we hadn’t spoken in a few months. He also can’t communicate with Cray, so he spends Christmas with him. I believed he was asking me, but after analyzing each phrase, it appears that Cray is the only one he wants to be with. He also returned my son the next night.
I clad Cray in weather gear, a hat, and cloth gloves as I rubbed my two hands together. There has been snow since January 1st. Even if I wanted to bring Cray outdoors to play, I couldn’t since he may get sick. As soon as he was ready, I hugged him. I’ll get dressed right now.
“Where are we going?” It’s been three months, so Cray’s words are pretty straightforward. He still has letters that can’t be pronounced, but he seems to be speaking properly.
“You’ll be excited when you find out where.” I smiled because we were going to Craig’s office today. My heart is mixed with nervousness because I will see him, but there is also mixed with fear because I don’t know the reason why he called me. All he said was he had something to say. He never mentioned what the reason was. My heart is beating fast.
Cray and I drove to his office. Craig and I didn’t even talk much. We’re still having a conversation about Cray. With that little thing, I was happy. Felicity was no longer bothered by what happened at the car shop. She also did not spread the video and photo, she told me.
Maybe that’s where I’m at least reassured.
We immediately went down to the car. Cray seemed to already know what he was going to do because he ran into the elevator while accompanied by another employee. Felicity isn’t mad at Cray, but I think she just doesn’t catch up with me being with Cray because all she knows is I’m just sending him.
An employee pressed the button to go upstairs. Even I felt like I was back in my childhood because of the excitement I felt at seeing Craig again. Cray played with the office workers while I held his hand. He is even more tiring to take care of because his stamina has also increased. It’s hard for me to chase every time he plays. His height was also taken by his father because he looked like he was 3 years old.
Cray ran as soon as the elevator stopped. I smiled, looking at him. My heart is already nervous. What can Craig tell me? I hope it’s pretty good news so I don’t lose my mood.
I didn’t call him and just smiled walking towards him. As soon as I sat on the sofa, I was not immediately relieved when I saw a familiar envelope. I only lost sight of it when Cray pulled me upright. Because I didn’t want him to be embarrassed, I stood up, but Craig’s secretary entered.
She was still Craig’s former secretary, so I smiled at her. I didn’t meet her when I came here to send Cray. She was carrying toy robots while calling my son. Cray quickly ran towards her outside.
Suddenly, the atmosphere got heavier as the two of us were the only ones left in the room. I don’t know what word to say first. I was embarrassed to open a topic with him. I just looked back at him when he returned to his table while I was just looking behind him. My imaginary brain finally came back when he suddenly had a raised brown envelope.
I said then that I had been waiting for him to sign those papers for a long time to completely sever my connection with him, but to see him holding it with his cold and determined eyes scared me. I’m wrong. I’m not ready for him to sign them. I no longer knew how I could save him from Felicity’s scandalous plot against him.
“I will sign this now.” He didn’t even hesitate to say that. I had no clue in his voice if he was having second thoughts. He took the pen that was neatly arranged and then removed the lid. I was just watching him.
I thought he wouldn’t. I was amazed when he signed it quickly and returned it immediately in the brown envelope. Am I still asleep? Am I still dreaming? If so, please wake me up because I don’t like it.
He then pulled out a piece of paper. I’m not sure what that’s for this time. Even from a distance, I don’t see him thinking about me as much as I do about him. Even from a distance, I couldn’t tell how excited he was that I was now in front of him.
“This is the contract that Mason and I signed for the merger of our company. But ... ”He took out a piece of paper and signed it. “I am returning all the shares and 50% earned by your company while we are merging. I hope this is the last thing we can talk about.”
I didn’t react to everything he said. My brain can’t process it.
