Thea's Point of View
“There are photos and videos of a well-known and respected business executive being leaked. According to the person who spread the video, the man allegedly forced the woman into the video but did not want to show up now for fear of threatening her.” The newscaster looked at the paper she was holding before continuing. “This man has been married for a long time so it is also said that he committed adultery with others, which is the reason for losing his wife for two years.”
I quickly turned off the TV and wrapped my arms around Cray, who was fast asleep. After Felicity phoned, Craig took me home. He advised me not to go outside for the time being since there may be danger outside, and he wasn’t wrong. The gate guard contacted me and informed me that a large number of press and media were waiting for me outside. Others, he claims, are attempting to enter and are still intending to scale the wall.
Celine stroked my back and handed me a glass of water. I couldn’t bear it because I was worried about Craig. This is what I tell her; I don’t want Felicity to know since I know she won’t hesitate in her desperate situation. She will not give up until she has what she wants, no matter what!
“Rest first, Thea,” she said as I handed her the glass back. She looked at me with concern.
I wouldn’t be at peace until Craig called me and say everything was fine. I also don’t want to look at social media because I know that’s going to be the content of gossip and articles. It’s a good thing, and I didn’t accept his offer to separate our company because that would be more reason for them to think that there is something wrong with our relationship.
When my phone rang on the small table in front of me, my hands were shaking. I took it, thinking it was Craig, but when I looked, it was Wayne. I put my phone back on the table until it died, but not for a single second did it lightly again.
“Won’t you answer that call?” Because of what Celine said, I took it.
Put it to my ear and waited for Wayne to speak. I wasn’t in the mood to exchange a story with him, so I didn’t speak, just waited for what he wanted to say.
“I heard about Craig. That man is really stupid! Like I told you, you don’t deserve him!” I can’t trace the anger in Wayne’s voice. It was as if I could hear the tone of joy in his voice even more, so I frowned. “Fuck him!” He continued.
“Don’t talk to him like that. You don’t know the story.” I didn’t hesitate and told him that. We should not judge just one story. Like me, I did that, and it was all too late. There have been so many times that I can’t go back.
“O-oh. Sorry.” He suddenly fell silent on the other line. It looks like I offended him, but I didn’t even feel guilty. I know he doesn’t like Craig because of what he did to me, but it’s still disrespectful to curse my husband in my ear.
“Do you have anything more to say?” I asked coldly. I wanted to disconnect the conversation since Craig could be calling, but he couldn’t because I was already on the phone with someone else.
“Nothing.” he hadn’t indicated explicitly that I had hung up the phone.
I wasn’t mistaken, because Craig called right away. My appearance immediately changed from tough to sudden it was replaced by concern. I tightened my grip on Cray, and Celine immediately stroked my back to calm me down. I’ve been like this since earlier.
“It is still unknown where the video came from and how it spread so fast. S-Sorry.” Even though I can’t see him, I seem to be able to visualize in my mind the stress on his face. Maybe he thought it would hurt too much for me.
“Do you have a lead anywhere? If the IP of the sender was known, we could easily imprison him for breaking the law...It is an invasion of someone’s privacy!” My voice rose. I didn’t realize how much it pained me for what was going on, because the woman with him on the video was different.
“We don’t have a lead at the moment. We can’t even find the gadget that was used. We’re not sure if that was an error or if the person who did it was skilled at hacking.” His voice slowed at the end as if he was wondering.
I’m not sure if it was just a coincidence when he mentioned the term “hack” and Wayne sprang into my head. Felicity can’t do it because of that woman’s exaggeration. She is only good at the company and she’s excellent at designing. I remembered what Felicity had said about being distrustful of other people. I also recall seeing a doll and a sticky note on Wayne’s vehicle.
“Hey ... Something is wrong.” It came out of my mouth on purpose. He was silent. I narrowed my eyes as if thinking because there was a theory formed in my brain.
“Wayne is an expert in this kind of thing, isn’t he?” I bit my lip so hard because I knew he would think I was asking Wayne for help.
He didn’t answer, so I knew I was right.
“He was the final one to call me. Is there a serial number you have so we can compare it to his last connection with me?” I’m also not sure why I suspect him. I had a faint idea that Wayne is kind, but as I previously stated, there is a classic story that cannot be seen, listened to, or read.
“I’m not sure why you doubt him, but wait. I’m still here in the office to inquire.” After he stated that, I had no response from him. He spoke again a few minutes later.
“An officer here said he has the IP Address of the device but he can no longer locate it. It looks like it blocked their office.”
“Wait, wait for me there. Send me the address and I’ll get there right away.”
If this is the case, actively block the specific agency to prevent the IP from being discovered. I believe that all the locating agencies have been blocked by the person who disseminated them. As a result, as long as no one has minor facts or connections about the device, you have no possibility of discovering it.
I’m just hoping my suspicions are right. But it would have been incorrect for me as well since I didn’t want to break the bond that had been built when I wasn’t feeling well with Wayne.
Because the phone call had gone dead, I had to act swiftly.
