I nodded as I replied, "Okay, my parents will be so excited to meet you because they have been so eager for me to find my mate."
"Mine too, you would love them and I'm sure that they would love you too." He muttered as his gaze strayed to my lips again before moving back to my eyes. I saw the heated look in his eyes increase, and I felt so happy and excited to be desired like that.
I smiled at the thought, "I really hope so."
His eyes held mine and we stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds before he leaned over and kissed me again, but lightly this time. As he pulled back, I saw his dark eyes turn reddish again. He let out a small breath as he murmured, "God, my wolf wants me to mark you so badly. I want to mark you too."
I unwrapped my arms from around his neck and stepped back, making him release my hips from his grip. "Then maybe we should keep a little distance between us first."
He looked like he wanted to protest, but he sighed, "I don't think I can keep my hands off of you, especially when you are so beautiful and innocent, but since that's what you want, I will try my best to keep my distance until I mark you."
I nodded as my lips widened into a large smile, feeling grateful that he was willing to please me even though it wasn't what he wanted. "Thank you so much for agreeing to wait."
"You don't have to thank me, my one." He replied as he took my hand and interlaced his fingers with mine. He tugged me towards the couch in his office that was facing the door. However, I tugged him back, making him turn back to me with both brows raised in question.
"I have to get back to work, the manager will be very angry at me and I already pissed her off when I arrived late." I explained to him with a concerned expression on my face.
He looked amused again, "She knows that I called you, so she shouldn't be angry, but I can talk to her if she tries anything on you."
I shook my head, feeling even more worried, "But that could make her think that I got this job because I'm sleeping with you. Everyone is probably thinking that too when they saw you call me."
He cupped my cheek with his free hand as he stared into my eyes, "Relax, Kat. I won't let anyone spoil your reputation, so I'm going to announce to everyone that we're dating and you didn't know my true identity until today."
My eyes widened in surprise, "You would really do that? But would they believe it?"
He took his hand away from my cheek as he replied, "They have to. I'll go with you to the office now and let them know."
"Okay, let's go." I replied, anticipating how they were going to react.
He nodded and we walked to the door hand in hand. He pulled the door open and let me walk out first before he did. His three assistants' gaze dropped to our linked hands as soon as they saw us and shock showed on their faces. However, they didn't say anything. They quietly followed us back to the elevator. When we reached it, Sebastian pressed the button for it to open.
We entered the elevator and he pressed the button for the 15th floor. He glanced at me with a smile touching his lips and started caressing the skin of the back of my hand with his thumb. I glanced at him shyly as a blush rose to my cheeks at how he was staring at me. He raised his free hand and pinched my cheeks. "What are you so shy about, cupcake?"
I shook my head as I batted his hand away from my cheek, "Nothing."
He let out a chuckle, "You're so cute when you blush."
I was speechless and didn't know how to respond except to blush more. The elevator doors opened at that moment and Sebastian tugged me gently out of the elevator. We walked into the hallway and turned the corner to enter our open office. As soon as the people in the office saw us, their eyes all moved to Sebastian and I's linked hands.
Some looked shocked while others looked like they expected it. The manager who was standing with some others had a frown on her face as she looked at us. It was obvious that she didn't like what she was seeing. At least, being with Sebastian would save me from her in case she tried to make my work life hard.
"I want to make an announcement." Sebastian started as he looked around at everyone's face. "Kat Mason and I are together. We met before she knew that I am the CEO here, so I expect each of you to respect her as your boss's girlfriend."
"Yes, Sir." They replied in chorus and I noticed that most of the girls were throwing envious looks at me. Who could blame them? Sebastian was the hottest man that I have ever laid eyes on and he was super rich.
Some of the men with a few women clapped at his announcement and exclaimed, "Congrats!"
As the clapping died down, Sebastian turned to me and smiled as he raised our linked hands up to his lips. He pressed a kiss on the back of my hand and let it go as he murmured, "I will see you later, my one."
My cheeks flushed at how he was showing affection towards me in front of everyone. "Okay, I'll see you then."
He nodded and turned around to walk out of the office with his assistants following him. I turned back to the cubicles and made my way to it to find my cubicle. Whispers floated around me as I passed them along with brief glances. I ignored them and continued to my cubicle. I soon found it and sat down.
The cubicle was large like all the others in the room and it has a computer on it with a keyboard and mouse for work. I switched on the computer to start working when I heard footsteps approaching me. I turned to the sound to see the manager. She stopped in front of me and a forced smile graced her lips.
"Kat, I apologize for the way that I spoke to you earlier. I hope that you understand that I was only concerned about you, that is why I reprimanded you."
