I looked back at Sebastian as he answered their greeting, "Good morning, everyone. I hope you are all doing well."
"Yes, thank you for asking, Sir." The manager replied as her lips stretched into a fake grin.
He nodded at her, looking uninterested and moved his gaze to me, "Kat, please follow me to my office."
"Yes, Sir." I answered, feeling scared of what might happen. Would he reject me or accept me?
He turned around and walked out of the office with the assistants following him. I also quickly scurried to follow him as whispers flooded the office of how he knew my name on my first day and why we were on a first name basis. I couldn't believe that this much drama was already happening in the first hour of my first day at work.
Sebastian strode to the elevator and stopped in front of it to press the button for it to open. The doors opened and it was empty. Seth stepped inside, followed by his people and he raised one brow at me in a s*xy way as if asking why I wasn't getting in. The door started closing, but I quickly placed my foot to block it and stepped inside too. I stood beside Sebastian as the doors clsoed and we started moving up. I glanced at the button area to see that the top floor, 16th floor has been selected.
I felt nervous of what might happen, I was also scared of losing my job on my first day. It wasn't easy to get it and it has a higher pay than my previous one. I glanced at him to see his reaction and saw that his face was blank, not showing any emotions, so I couldn't tell what he was thinking. The elevator stopped and the doors opened. Sebastian was the first one to walk out.
I followed him and then his assistants. He stopped at the first door on the floor and turned around to face us. He glanced at me before moving his gaze to his people, "You three, stay here. I need to talk to her alone."
"Yes, Sir." They answered together and threw me curious glances.
Sebastian turned to what I assumed to be his office door and opened it. He walked in and I followed him inside. He turned to me as soon as I was in and glanced at the opened door behind me before looking back at me. "Close the door."
I felt unsure and scared of what might happen if I did, especially when he looked so intimidating. But I did turn around and shut the door before looking back at him. When he saw my expression, he looked amused as the corner of his lips tugged up into a small smile, "Don't worry, Kat. I'm not going to do anything bad to you. We just can't let them overhear us talking about werewolves or us."
I let out a sigh of relief, "Oh, I get it now."
He nodded, "I am sorry for not returning early last night. It was a very a urgent business call and I had no idea that so much time passed by while I was taking the call. You must have gotten tired of waiting."
"Yes, I also wanted to get home early for bed so that I would be on time today." I answered quietly.
"That's understandable, so what are your views on mates? I know that some of the werewolves of this era don't want their destined mates and I also saw you fighting with your cheating ex boyfriend." He asked as he took a few steps towards me and stopped right in front of me.
I felt my heart beat faster at how close we were standing and I looked down, shyly as I replied, "I take mates very seriously, I was only with him because I haven't found my mate yet. So what about you? Are you going to accept that we're mates or do you want to mate with someone else?"
As I said the last part, jealousy showed on my face since my wolf and I couldn't bare the thought of him being with another. Sebastian looked amused at the expression on my face, "Yes, I accept you as my mate, Kat and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
A sense of happiness filled me at his declaration and my wolf howled in joy too from within my mind. My lips stretched into a smile, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you too, Sebastian."
He took my chin in his large, masculine hand and lifted it up so that my eyes met his. I could see the happiness and love in his eyes as they stared into mine. He parted his lips and murmured, "Then you shouldn't be shy with me, okay?"
A small smile touched my lips, "Okay."
His gaze moved to my lips and he brushed the pad of his thumb against it. He looked back into my eyes with a heated look in his eyes, "God, I have been waiting so long to meet you, my one."
I felt butterflies flutter in my stomach at his words. Before I could reply, he took his thumb away from my lips and his lips replaced it. He captured my lips with his in a heated kiss and I kissed him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he moved his hands to my hips to grip them. After a moment of making out, I pulled back and I saw his dark eyes turn reddish as his fangs protruded from his mouth.
It seemed that his wolf was coming to the surface and they wanted to mark me as his mate. We were both breathing heavily as we continued staring at each other with tension filling the air. "I don't want us to move too fast since we just met. I want us to take things slowly as we get to know each other before you mark me."
He nodded in understanding and murmured in his deep, s*xy voice, "Okay, if that's what you want, cupcake."
"It is and why do you keep calling me cupcake?" I asked curiously and he let out a chuckle.
"You look and sound as sweet as a cupcake. It's what I thought about when I first saw you." He replied as his lips tugged up into a smile.
I raised my brows in surprise, "That's not the answer that I expected."
He looked amused and I noticed that his eyes have returned back to their normal shade of black and his fangs have retracted back into his gums. He swirled his index fingers in a circular motion as he continued gripping my hips and I let my arms stay around his neck. "I want us to meet each other's family today after work."
