Daniel’s P.O.V
I got out of that place and put my sunglasses on. I started walking towards my car, but just as I got near it someone called my name. I knew who it was and I stopped, but I did not bother to turn around and look back. Jackson and Jacob were looking at me and studying my face. They both knew that I was acting normal in front of my mother, but there was nothing else left in my mind.
“DANIEL!” My father shouted after me and stood in front of me, but I just pulled my phone out and started looking at that instead. My father turned his attention to Jackson and Jacob, smiling while looking at them and then he pulled Jacob into a hug.
“How's your health Mr. Robert? I am very sad to hear about your father. May god give you strength,” Jacob said, I knew he was only asking because it was the polite thing to do, but it did not mean that I had to do it or be polite. My dad nodded his head and then hugged him again.
“It is great to see you, Jacob. At least you are the one who thinks well for me.” My dad said to Jacob and I watched as Jacob's smile disappeared and his face was filled with fear and dread. Jacob knew that comment was directed at me and it made me angry that my father had said it. Jacob started to gulp and look nervous, he looked like he had saliva stuck in his throat, but he was neither swallowing it or spitting it out. I started to walk away and Jackson smiled at my dad and then followed behind me. I was just about to get into my car when I felt a hand on my shoulder and as soon as I felt my fathers touch I jerked myself away from him and looked angrily at him.
“HOW DARE YOU TOUCH ME!!” I shouted angrily at him and all the bodyguards around us heard me. The good thing for him was that there were no guests outside, there were only bodyguards, but they had seen this view many times and it was nothing new for them.
“Forgive me son….” dad started to say, but I cut him off, shocked by his choice of words.
“SON?! Have you forgotten that you lost the right to call me son years ago? Don't make the mistake of calling me son again.” I spat out through gritted teeth, but my father just closed his eyes. I knew he felt insulted in front of his bodyguards, but that was not the case today. I had always insulted him in front of the whole world, I did not care who was listening to what I said.
“Well, I will not touch you, but today the guests here are from the Mafia and are my fathers friends. They are all from respected families, ministers and royals. They have all come to pay their respects to your grandfather and say goodbye to him for the last time. Your grandfather is about to leave and you have not even been and seen him to pay your respects. Father sent bodyguards after you to bring you back, he waited for your arrival, but you never came. Why do not you at least go and see him one last time, after all he is your grandfather.” Dad said and I took off my glasses, giving him a bored look.
“Do not be under the misconception that I came here to see you father and I have nothing to do with the person lying in that coffin. He is your father and you are his son, but there is no need for me to establish a relationship with either of you or your family. The only reason I have come here is to see my mother because without me her health would deteriorate even further. That's all, I did not say anything inside because I promised mother, but enough is enough. If you try to stop me once more the consequences will be very bad.” I said, warning him and my father turned around and saw that Lola was standing in the doorway.
My father knew that I had seen her standing there and that she had heard everything, but he also knew that defying my words would make my father have to pay a very heavy price. I got in my car and Jackson was already inside, he knew that I would settle the matter within a matter of minutes and get in the car. No one could stop me even if they wanted to. Jacob got into the car and started driving, but as soon as we had left the grounds of the mansion he stopped. He knew that I did not have a meeting and that I just wanted to get out of there. I was looking out the window and the whole car was silent for a few minutes.
“Jacob…” I said, breaking the silence and he turned to look back at me.
“Sir, what is the order for me?” Jacob said, making me look at him.
“If you want to go back to the mansion you are more than welcome to. You do not need to follow me, I have Jackson with me. If you want to go to mom you can go.” I said and Jacob smiled at me.
“You know I do not go anywhere unless it's with you. I will go with you guys, I do not want to go back.” Jacob replied and Jackson just smiled as he listened to us talk.
“You did not know your mother was going to be there today did you? Who told you that she was going to be there?” I asked jackson.
“No, I did not know mom was going to be there. One of my men told me that she was going. I could not tell her not to go, she would not listen to me.'' Jackson replied and leaned his head back against the seat. We all stayed quiet for a while, just sitting in the parked up car.
“If neither of you have any ideas on where to go, then why do not I suggest a place?” Jackson said, breaking the silence and upon hearing him both Jacob and I raised our eyebrows. Jackson smiled at both of us and we both knew where jackson was talking about going. Jacob smiled and started the car back up, turning around and driving on the other side, in the same direction that people were walking in. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the screen, looking at the picture of Sara I had which I was constantly looking at. Jackson peeked over my shoulder, looked at my phone and saw Sara's photo.
“You still have this photo of her?” Jackson asked with surprise. I nodded yes and carried on looking at the photo, but everything suddenly went strangely quiet and when I looked up I saw that Jackson was looking at me diagonally and Jacob was looking at me through the rear view mirror.
“What?!” I asked both of them, but Jackson started angrily gritting his teeth.
“I remember very well that I asked you about Sara's photo one day. I asked you to show me, because you told me that you had taken her photo, but you told me that you had lost it and now I can clearly see her photo on your phone. This implies that you never wanted to show me her photo, you wanted to hide this photo. You bastard! I am telling the truth, aren't i?” Jackson angrily said. I listened to him and when he was finished I gave him a devilish grin and put my phone back in my pocket.
“Yes you are right, I deliberately hid her photo and did not let anyone see it. Sara is mine and mine only, no one can see her!” I replied.
