“LUCY! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR! LET ME GO! OPEN THE DOOR! LUCY! I'M NOT GETTING MARRIED! DAD LET ME GO! OPEN THE DOOR!” I screamed and repeatedly banged on the door, but they wouldn't open it. I slid down the door and sat on the floor,l as tears fell from my eyes. If I had known that my dad and Lucy were planning such an evil plan then I would never have come back, I would have ran as far away from them and this place as I could.
How could he take a loan out and repay it with me? Didn't he have a heart? He sold me to the Don and now he wants me to marry him, I thought to myself as the tears were freely flowing from my eyes. I don't want to marry that criminal.
“No! I will not marry him! I will run away!” I said to myself and got up from the floor. I went over to the window and pulled the curtains back, but my eyes went wide with fear when I saw that the same people that had come earlier that day and taken my photo were yet again outside. They took my picture to send to Nolan, now I understood why they did it and what Lucy was talking about.
I was trapped in my room and couldn't even call for help because Lucy had taken my phone. I flopped down on my bed in shock at the realization that they had planned all of this out. That's why the street lights were off and the street was deserted. I brought my knees up to my chest and held them tightly. It was already night and in just a few hours they said that I was going to marry Nolan. I again went to the door and started banging on it for help, but no one came and I was starting to lose my voice from all the screaming and shouting I was doing.
I closed my eyes and fell down to the floor. I had no other option but to marry him, but I didn't want to. I curled up in a ball on the floor and the only image coming to my mind was of Daniel. I silently prayed that he would somehow know that I needed him. He said that he was going to come back and change our lives, but my life was already going to change tomorrow. I was going to be married to a criminal
He had asked me to wait for him, but I was running out of time now.
I lay on the ground crying and when I looked at the clock it was already 2am and there wouldn't be much more time until it was morning, but it felt like the sun was setting on my life. It's a terrible feeling knowing what is going to happen with your future and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Suddenly I could hear the sounds of vehicles outside and quickly went to the window, but when I looked down I saw that a heavy goods vehicle was parked in front of the house and the black cars that were here earlier had gone. I heard sounds coming from inside the house and when I looked outside again the furniture and everything was being loaded into this van, it was a removal truck. Lucy and my dad are leaving the house, they are moving, but what will happen to me? Am I going to stay locked up in this room?
“Sara….” Ryan said, from the other side of the door and gently knocked it like he always does.
“Ryan! What are you doing here?” I asked, running over to the door and speaking quietly so that no one else would hear. Why was he up at this time?
“Mom told me that we are leaving home, so she woke me up at midnight.” Ryan said and that's when I knew that they were going to leave me in this house alone.
"Ryan, please help me. open the door. These people have locked me inside here. Please help me." I begged and Ryan immediately said yes. I became very happy on hearing his answer and now I could run away from here. As soon as I heard the sound of the door unlocking, tears came out of my eyes. I could not believe that a small child was helping me and that too was not a small help. I saw that the door was about to open, but suddenly the door was closed and locked again, which made me nervous. Why did he lock the door again?
"Ryan, I told you not to come here. Go to your dad." Lucy said, scolding Ryan and he ran away fearing her. I was still trapped inside.
"Lucy, Ryan told me that you guys are leaving home. I have also seen vehicles outside the house. Why are you leaving home like this? If you are leaving then why are you keeping me locked in this room? Let me out." I begged Lucy, but she just started laughing.
"You are right. We are leaving home, but you are not.” Lucy said, sounding bitchy as usual.
“What do you mean? If you guys are leaving then what will I do alone, locked in my room?” I asked in panic.
“You must remain in here until Nolan comes and takes you with him. You have to save us by using yourself, but until then we will be leaving and going somewhere else to save our own lives." Lucy said and laughed from afar, telling me about their devilish escape plan, but left a live bomb on me which could burst at any time. This meant that these people were about to leave me here and flee, I was going to pay the deeds of all these people, by marrying a criminal.
"No, You guys can not do this to me Lucy. Let me out of this room. I want to go out!!!" I shouted, while thumping my hand at the door and started screaming loudly, but no one paid attention to me. The only sounds that could be heard were the sounds of me banging on the door and yet when I went to the window they were still bringing stuff out and loading it up, as if they hadn't heard me.
They were acting as if I was invisible and that's when I knew that my dad and Lucy had paid them more money to ignore me. After a while I could see that Lucy, dad and Ryan left the house and I was left alone in this room. Today this house scared me, I had spent my whole life here, but today as I was alone I was afraid. I picked the photo frame up of my mother and hugged it tightly.
