Rafael laid on the bed but he couldn't fall asleep, what a way to start married life, he already knew they were going to be a lot of bad reviews about his wedding and he didn't like it, first Natalie showing up late and then she was acting up, she kept doing things the wrong way and getting angry at him when he should be the one angry, gosh, she even told him to shut the fuck up, if this is how she does when she is stressed then he must be ready, because she was a handful, he definitely didn't expect most of her behaviour, she fucking flagged the chair man of the biggest tech company and all he could do was watch, he had told himself he will put her in her place when they are alone but then, she had bossed him into forgetting, whatever was going on with her, he definitely liked the submissive version of her not this vile one, she was already challenging him and they weren't even married up to a day, he had the sudden urge to go tell her where she belonged, he got off the bed and strolled to the room she was using, he couldn't believe he let her stay in the main bedroom of his penthouse while he used the other, he tried to open the door but it was locked.
"What the fuck?"
He said knocking, he heard her walking towards the door expecting her to open. He stood ready to give her a piece of his mind in a not-so-kind way, but then the door didn't open, instead her tiny voice came from within.
"Who is it and what do you want?"
"Are you okay? Open the door,"
He yelled.
"Excuse me Mr. But I am just going to ignore you,"
She replied.
"What? Natalie open the door right now,"
He yelled banging on the door, she was offending him on purpose, this has to be on purpose, he waited for over five minutes but still, she didn't open nor answer him again, he went back to the other bedroom furious, he even forgot what he had to tell her, he tried calling her line to tell her off but her phone was off, she was so different from the submissive Natalie that he knew, or maybe she has been pretending all along and this was her real character.
"Well fuck her, I am just going to stand her until I get what I want,"
He said to himself, laying on the bed and for once wishing to fall asleep, he couldn't believe he resisted touching her all those months they were dating just to be snubbed on their wedding night, what a way to start, his phone started ringing, he picked it up after seeing it his personal assistant that was calling, he didn't know why she was calling at night when he is supposed to be on break but he could tell it was important.
"Hello good evening sir,"
"Good evening, Armani, why are you calling me so late?"
He asked his personal assistant, getting up from the bed, it was useless trying to fall asleep anyway.
"Sorry sir but it is urgent and I needed to tell you,"
"What's this about?"
"Sir, it's concerning your partnership with Jones builders,"
"What's up with that? Go straight to the point Armani,"
Rafael let out, not liking anything about this conversation even though he didn't know what it was about yet, he recently signed a partnership with them in regards to the building of his new hotels, across Florida, New York, and California, if this was going to be bad then he might as well pull out before his partnership with them is made public.
"It's just a rumor for now but I didn't want to take any chances, there is a rumor going around that the CEO embezzled funds and is currently making use of substandard materials, knowing how much this might affect our credibility, I had to let you know immediately I found out,"
"Okay, then you, now a first thing, whether it's rumor or not, pause the sending of the final document I signed, I will do some finding and if I notice any foul play, we pull out completely and not that, I will make sure everyone else pulls out, he can't be living off people's money and putting people's lives to risk if this is true, those buildings might collapse and end up killing people,"
He said. He hated when people put the lives of millions of people at risk just for their own gain.
"That's exactly what I thought, even if it's just a rumor we can't risk neglecting it until it is proven not to be true,"
"You know what to do right?"
"Yes Sir,"
"Good,"
"Good night sir, sorry for the disturb,"
"It's fine,"
He said and ended the call, he just hoped the rumors aren't true because if they were, he was just going to add it to the list of things he had done to help mankind that might be turned against him, people called him ruthless for buying out small and struggling firms and turning it into something better, they call him heartless for exposing corrupt men in the business world, he didn't mind the name calling, he didn't mind at all, they didn't do anything to lessen his net-worth, if he is able to build the three new mega hotels he has in mind he would be entering the trillioniare club soon, and he would be the youngest, he was proud of how much he had achieved so far, but that won't stop him from getting even better, no, there is room for more, once he acquire the land close to Margaret's own, he will start working immediately, another mega hotel to his name, the one attached to his new wife, he would take time to cozy her into giving it to him, which is why he had to tolerate her but she was been so overbearing that he was kind of regretting his decision to marry her but there hasn't been any other way, his team had tried every possible way to get it but nothing, for six whole months nothing, the land was huge, he knew it couldn't be cheap and had been ready to part away with millions to get it but Natalie had refused, when they had started dating he had asked her about it stylishly and she had told him even if she wants to sell she can't unless she is married, that was the rule.
He knew she wasn't the sole owner of the land but if he could get through her, then he can get it and he planned on getting through her, that doesn't mean he will go easy on her either, if she messes he will deal accordingly with her.
"Yeah right and she locked you out,"
The annoying voice in his head whispered, he still felt angry for what she did, it was their wedding night and here he was alone.
"That bitch,"
"Yeah, that hot bitch,"
The voice in his head whispered again.
"Shut the fuck up,"
"But you know she is hot,
"Just shut up,"
He hated talking to himself but it was a habit he developed when he was little, he had spent most of the time by himself and had learned to have a whole conversation with himself, of course, it didn't happen often now but it still did sometimes, he tried to fall asleep, it took a while before he finally did.
