"I am just going to ignore you,"
She replied closing her eyes, she was done, anything else and she might do something stupid, she opened her eyes again when they got to the hotel they were staying for the night, she knew the hotel, she has seen it on TV a few times and knew Rafael owned it, she has never seen it up close, she waited for him to come get her as there were some paparazzi around, she hated them paparazzi and still couldn’t get her head around why they always follow people around and why them people tolerate them.
"Let's go in my lady,"
He said reaching out for her she rolled her eyes and took his hands, cameras started flashing as soon as she stepped out, she smiled and waved at them like Natalie would do even though she was losing it inside, it was crazy the amount of flash lights that were trying to blind her all in the name of taking photos of her to create headlines.
When they finally entered the lobby, she let out a sigh of relief, Rafael didn't let go of her hands until they were inside the elevator.
"You are so weird that I am starting to doubt me,"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I thought you were a good match for me but maybe I am wrong, I don't like the aura I am getting from you today, why are you breathing so hard just because of a few photos?”
He asked and Nicole couldn’t believe someone can be so insensitive, Natalie really had bad taste in men.
"Can't you see I am tired and stressed? How do you react to stress?"
She asked, if only he knew the number of shits she was going through trying to play someone she wasn't, he should even be a fool since he can't tell that she is not the one he proposed to.
"I don't react as you do,"
"Just ignore please,"
"I already am, I just hope you fix this,"
She didn't respond to him when the door of the elevator opened she waited for him to lead the way, she didn't want him to know that she didn't know where to go, it was a penthouse, at the top of the hotel, she guessed this might be where he lived, but she wasn't sure because who lives in a hotel?
When the penthouse door opened, she was amazed at how big it was. She had expected it to be huge but not to this extent.
"Why is it so huge?"
She couldn't help but ask.
"Are you for real? You have been to this penthouse before, you remember I own this hotel right?"
"Yes, I do, I am just saying what I hadn't said before, so are we sharing a room?"
She asked as they entered a room, she only saw one bed and asked before she could stop herself, of course, they were sharing a room, they were married.
"Again, are you sure you are alright?"
He asked, he sounded pissed.
"Why do you ask, don't I look alright to you? Are trying to insult me?"
"Okay, that's it, I have had enough, I am out of here,"
He barked.
"Where are you going to?"
Nicole asked as he made to leave, she knew she was acting out and pissing him off the more.
"Are you honestly asking me that? I don't know what has gotten into you and I am not going to be here with you, I am out of here, I will see you in the morning, maybe by then you will be back to your senses, you are acting like a possessed person right now, or maybe you really do have split personality after all, because why else are you acting like a stranger and being all defensive?"
"Okay get the fuck out of here,"
She yelled, she didn't know what have gotten into her either, she knew she shouldn't be acting like this but she couldn't help it, it was as if she was going mad, she closed the door on and laid on the bed without taking her dress off.
"This is so bad, I feel stupid,"
She said finally letting herself cry, everything was overwhelming, she didn't expect it to be this tough, God knows if she continues like this, she won't last up to one week, she stood up and got out her phone, she dialed Natalie's number, but it was switched off.
"Way to go bitch,"
She yelled, throwing her phone away, Natalie created a mess and left her to fix it, all these would have been avoided if she had just called off the wedding, but no, she choose to keep going even while knowing she was having doubts and used her as her back up plan, she being the fool that she has always been accepted, why just why? Even though Rafael was mad at her, at least she doesn't have to worry about wedding night anymore, it had been eating at the back of her mind when the ceremony was drawing to an end, if she can just keep him angry for the whole of the week, then she wouldn't have to sleep with him.
"Okay, the plan is to keep the man pissed,"
She said to herself as she got up and headed to the bathroom, it was huge too, everything here was huge, even the bed, she filled up the tub and used the scented soap, she stepped into it, letting the freshwater smoothen her tired body, she already knew how she would plan out this week and hoped Natalie would turn up as she promised, she spent over an hour in the bathtub, her stuff wee still at her place, so she wore Rafael's T.shirt as she didn't find any of Natalie's belonging even though Rafael claimed she has been here before, maybe they were in a different room, but she was too lazy to check and she didn't want to bump into Rafael, her safety was important, she didn't want to end up sleeping with her sister's husband...
