Nicole, watched through the window to make sure he left before the came out of the inner part of the studio where she had escaped to, yes it was an escape, she could barely process that he has been here wanting to talk to her, she hadn't even seen him coming in, hadn't even heard his car sound, imagine how her heart had leaped when he had called her name, she had thought she was hallucinating or having a dream, she had blinked to be sure he was the one standing there looking so handsome when she had come back to her senses, she had gone to him wondering what brought him there and how he knew she would be at Aron's studio, how did he even know Aron's studio in the first place? She had all these questions to ask but when he had looked at her, she had forgotten, forgotten that she had to ask.
"Stop it, time to go home,"
She said getting closing the windows and doors, she willed herself not to think about their not so serious conversation, she thought he had found out about the baby and that's why he had come to see her but he hadn't said much to her, he even told her she was acting unaccommodating, if only he knew how shaken and unsure she had been inside, he broke all her resolves just by sitting across the room with her.
"This is bad,"
She said out loud, she should have left when she finished the work she had brought here, even Aron had suggested she call it a day when he had returned from the academy but she said she wanted to use the opportunity to get more work done and had started a new stretch, if only she had left then he won't have met her here and her whole body won't have been trembling, she would probably be at home not here thinking about what he wanted to say to her.
"Enough,"
She scolded herself as she arranged the materials she had used and cleaned up after herself, she took all her materials to the car one after the other, then turned off the light in the studio, gently carried the work she had done for Natalie's friend and took it to her car before coming back to lock up, she made sure the door was properly locked before going over to her car, she still had time before she had to go home she called Grace, she needed to talk with her, she waited patiently for Grace to pick up.
"Grace!!!"
She called when she finally did.
"What's up, Nicole?"
"Grace, he came to see me,"
She said.
"What? Who?
Grace asked obviously confused by what she said, Nicole calmed herself.
"Rafael, he came to see me he said he wanted to talk,"
"Oh my God, for real?"
"Yes, for real,"
"What did he want to talk about and when did you guys meet?"
Grace asked in a voice too excited for her liking.
"Grace, why are you excited about this?"
"I am just asking,"
Grace replied. Nicole could still detect the hint of excitement in her voice, she forgot Grace was the biggest her and Rafael shipper.
"Well, he came a few minutes ago, he didn't say anything much just that he wanted to talk and when I told him to be fast because I was in a hurry, he said we can do it another time when I am less busy because he had a lot to talk about, I don't even know what to say about that, I didn't even expect to see him,"
Nicole explained.
"Wow, I am short of words, just wow, where did you guys meet?"
"At Aron's studio,"
"What? What were you doing at Aron's studio? And how did he know you were there?"
"I was there to work, I told you before that I like Aron's studio and it is so peaceful to work there, about how he knew I would be there, I don't know, I didn't ask him,"
She responded.
"Why didn't you,"
"I was in shock, I didn't expect him to come to see me, and ask for us to talk,"
"And you guys ended up not talking about anything, did he meet Aron there?"
"Yes, he did and he asked if we were dating,"
Nicole replied. She had shut him up with a question of her own. It wasn't any of his business whether she was dating Aron or not and shouldn't have asked, she didn't ask him if he was dating that crazy bitch, what's her name Josie.
"What did you say?"
"Too many questions Grace, but I told him it's none of his business,"
She responded.
"That's harsh, you should have just told him you guys aren't dating, that would have put his mind at ease,"
Grace scolded.
"Why will his mind be uneasy because Aron and I are supposedly dating?"
"Because he loves you crazy, what man would be happy hearing that the woman he loves is with someone else?"
"I don't know what you are on about Grace, need I remind you that Rafael had a new girlfriend,"
She replied she didn't know why they choose to ignore that part both she and Rafael.
"Did he tell you so? What if you are mistaken, the way he is with you and Aron? I mean, would Rafael date someone and not confirm it? Apart from the initial photos that were released there hasn't been any news about those two and Rafael's relationships are always talked about because he is the type that shows off his woman,"
Grace said.
"Grace, the reason I called you is that he said we should meet again and I wanted to hear your opinion about it, I don't want to meet him but I still have to tell him about little so I am tore,"
Nicole said, voicing her worries, she had to tell him but she had wanted to wait till she was at least three or four months into her pregnancy but if she tells him off now won't that make it hard for her to tell him?
"It's not really that hard Nicole, just hear him out, I am sure he has reasons to want to talk to you, hear what he has to say, I am not saying you should tell him about the baby now but you giving him listening ears now will make him give you one too when you are ready to tell him,"
Grace advised.
"Thank you, Grace, I will think about what you said,"
"Good,"
"I have to go now Grace, I am still at the studio,"
"Sure, drive safely and call me anytime okay?"
"Yes bye,"
She said and the call ended, she sat there for a few more seconds before she started her car and drove towards her parent's house.
