When she got home, she didn't meet anybody, she suspected they would all be in their rooms and went to hers too, she took a bath and changed into comfortable nighties, after which she brought out her laptop to continue with the stretch she had been working on when Rafael had shown up, this particular stretch had a deeper meaning to her than all her other works, this was the continuation of something she started a while ago but hadn't been able to complete because of the unfortunate incident that had happened, she finally could complete the maternity art series that she started when she had been pregnant with her little angel who had gone back to heaven even before she was born, of course she wasn't yet at this step yet but she wanted to start the work again and do a better job at it, she already had the first three months and was thankful she hadn't done away with it when she had wanted to, that was thanks to Grace, who had told her she might want it back some say and that day finally came
"Nicole? Dad wants us to come to their room, said he has something to say to us,"
Natalie revealed as she popped her head through Nicole's, she already knew what the talk was going to be about, she was sure it was about her and the baby, her mom had been understanding, she didn't know how her dad would react.
"Okay, I am coming,"
She said and closed her laptop, she stood up and headed to her parent's room which was at the other side of the mansion, she and Natalie used the rooms by the right while her parents used the one by the left and after that, there is the guest room and another free room where her mom kept her stuff, Nicole breath in and out as she walked closer to her parent's room, she had thought about how she would tell them but now they already know, which makes it even harder, she wished her mom didn't find out the way she did but she couldn't blame Natalie for it since it was an honest mistake, she gathered her courage and knocked gently on the door, opened it and walked in, Natalie and their parents both turned to watch her as she walked to where they were, her parent's room was big, possibly bigger than hers and Natalie's, it has a king-sized bed and also two walk-in closets, one for each of her parents, there were chairs and also a center table and also a body massage machine, and even a TV.
"Hi, mom, dad,"
She greeted her parents and sat down, looking at Natalie who glanced away after giving her a weak smile, Nicole looked at her parents and looked away immediately bowing her head.
"As much as I wanna say what I have to say, but which twin is which? I am sorry I can't tell you guys apart with the both of you wearing the same hair and nighties,"
Her dad said and Nicole realized they were both dressed alike, she wasn't wearing her glasses which her dad often used to tell them apart, she still had on her lenses, she and Natalie exchanged a look and smiled mischievously, it was clear Natalie hadn't told them which one she was.
"Uh-huh, honey, that's Natalie and the one that just walked in is Nicole,"
Their mom said shocking the both of them, she and Natalie looked at each other and back at their mom who smiled.
"Mom, how can you tell?"
"It's obvious right now, don't ask me how I know,"
She responded.
"How do you know mom?"
Natalie asked anyway.
"Well, it's not like I am good at it, I just know because, Nicole has the face of someone who is an offender and wish not to be scolded even while knowing she might be, while Natalie there looks like she is here for all the drama,"
Their mom responded, it kind of made a lot of sense, and Nicole looked at her dad who was quietly looking at them.
"Dad,"
She whispered in a low voice, not that she was scared of her dad or anything, she just didn't know why she felt like she disappointed him in some ways, take it or leave it, no parents would be happy knowing their child got pregnant out of marriage, especially when the baby daddy is the ex, maybe that's why she was feeling this way.
"Nicole dear, what are your plans? Having a baby is totally different from every other thing you know how to do, especially with you and the dad divorce,"
Her dad said in a calm voice, she hadn't expected him to ask her such a question, she must have expected him to ask her why she slept with Rafael after they divorced his question was so considerate that it brought tears to her eyes, she wiped them off and raised her head to face him.
"I am going to tell him dad, and I am going to plan out how this whole thing will work, I don't know yet as I only found out recently, I am still in shock so I don't think I have any reasonable thoughts about everything yet, but I can tell you that I am going to keep this baby and Rafael will be aware,"
She answered as much as she could, she knew she didn't make sense but that's all she had to say for now.
"Fair enough, that's good to know and just so you know, you have our support, we can't say financially because both you and the father are rich people but we can be a family and a shoulder to rest on, I and your mom has a lot to make up for and we plan on doing that,"
Her dad said.
"How did I ever think that you guys are unreasonable?"
Natalie asked, beating Nicole to it, her parents, she misunderstood them for so long that when they say something to her or act in a certain way, it amazes her.
"Not just you guys, we did too, it's only right that we make amends now,"
"And you guys are doing a great job at it mom, dad, thank you so much for not being angry at me and for understanding me,"
Nicole said.
"You are welcome my dear, just take things easy okay, and don't keep things in, I might have only experienced it once but I still know a lot so you can ask me anything,"
Her mom said.
"Thanks, Mom, I sure will,"
Nicole responded.
"That's all we have to say, you guys can go rest now,"
Her dad said and both she and Natalie stood up, hugged their parents, and left their room.
"That went better than I thought it would,"
Natalie said when they were outside of their parent's room.
"Me too, Rafael came to see me,"
She revealed and her sister pulled her into her room.
"Okay, girl start talking,"
Natalie said with her hands folded, Nicole told her everything that happened and even the call with Grace.
"I agree with Grace, you should give him a listening ear,"
Natalie said when she was done.
"You think so?"
"Yes, it would be better if you do,"
"Thanks, Natalie,"
She said and yawned.
"It's nothing, now go get some rest,"
Natalie said.
"Alright, goodnight twinnie,"
"Goodnight,"
Her sister responded and she left to get a room, she wanted to go back to stretching but was too tired to so she got into her bed and went right to sleep...
