"You won't believe who came to see me today,"
Natalie announced as she entered Nicole's room, Nicole dropped her cream and stared expectantly at her sister
"Who is it? The president of the United States of America?"
"Really? You think the president will come and see me?"
"Yeah, you are pretty famous around here,"
"It's not the president and you are more famous than I am, your personal IG has over ten million followers and the one you use for art is at twenty-six, I am in all at seven,"
"That doesn't count, anyway who is it?"
"Guess, you won't believe,"
"I am not good at guessing, since it's not the president, I don't know who it might be,"
"Rafael,"
She said.
"Rafael? Who is that?"
She asked, she knew a Rafael but that won't be who she was talking about right?
"Are you kidding me? I am talking of your Rafael, your husband, and Little's daddy,"
"What? Why?"
Nicole asked in shock.
"I don't know about the what, but about the why, he wanted us to talk,"
"That's what he told me yesterday too, he wanted us to talk, so what did you guys talk about?"
"Well, at first I thought he must have mistaken me for you but then he called my name and told me he wants us to meet up, I asked him what it was about and he said he would only talk if we meet up, of course, I was scared that he might still be angry with me and decided to punish me, so I told him I can't meet up with him, then he said I should tell him where I was and he will meet me up there, I was with the designer who I am working with for my clothing line and I told him that, long story short, he showed up barely twenty minutes later, imagine how shock I was,"
Natalie explained and paused. Nicole was interested in why Rafael had gone to see Natalie so she urged her on.
"Go on, Natalie,"
"Well, I went to meet him, we sat and he apologized,"
She revealed, apologized? That wasn't what Nicole had been expecting at all.
"Apologized? Rafael did? Why?"
Nicole asked sitting upright.
"Well, he apologized for jumping into conclusion and thinking I pushed you and also for getting me arrested,"
Natalie replied.
"Why is he apologizing now? I don't understand,"
Nicole said more to herself, he had all these months ago to apologize but he didn't, heck, he didn't even believe that Natalie didn't have a hand in what happened and suddenly, he is asking for forgiveness? It made it even more suspicious, that he came to see her yesterday and today he was meeting up with her twin couldn't all just be happening, did he know about her pregnancy? Could it be that when she had forgotten to use her dad's name for the test and used his name instead, the doctor or nurse there had called him? She didn't know how to take all this information and his sudden attention to her.
"I don't know, I ask him that too and he said he just wanted to apologize and make everything right, I apologized to him too we are cool,"
Natalie revealed. Nicole didn't know what to do with the information, why was he apologizing now, she hated to admit it but she had thought he would come and meet her today but he didn't show up and she had thought maybe he was just playing with her, now she finds out he was with her sister and he even apologized to her.
"Do you perhaps think he was diagnosed with a deadly disease? That's why he is trying to reconcile with everyone?"
Nicole asked, even she didn't like the thought of that, it crossed her mind and she couldn't keep it away since people diagnosed with a deadly disease always make up with people and set everything right.
"Nicole Salvador!!! That's not a nice thing to say, why would you say that?"
Natalie questioned, Nicole, noticed the use of her former surname.
"I am a Evans, not a Salvador,"
She corrected.
"Really? Did you change your name back to Evans after the divorce?"
She didn't do that, she didn't think she needed to.
"Do I have to do that?"
"Yes, since you haven't done that you are still a Salvador,"
Natalie explained.
"Didn't know that, I will do it, didn't use it for a long time and well I didn't really use it, why should I still be addressed by my ex-husband's name?"
She asked.
"That's not the point right now, the point here is your husband is trying to make amends, it doesn't have to be because he is about to die, I know that's not what it is,"
"I just said that I didn't want it, I would not like it, would probably go to the end of the world to look for a cure if that's the case, but I know it's not, so why?"
"Maybe he wants to get back with you,"
Natalie replied, Nicole didn't think that was the case, he didn't look or act like someone who wanted to get back with her.
"That's not it,"
"How do you know?"
"I don't know but I am sure that's not it Natalie, Rafael isn't someone who goes back on his words, we divorced because he said he was done and he is not the type to take back such words,"
Nicole said.
"But he apologized to me as said he regrets arresting me,"
Natalie said but Nicole felt those were two different things.
"Doesn't count, please I can't do this, I will just wait to hear what he has to say when I am ready to talk to him, I don't want to stress myself, it will stress the baby too,"
She replied.
"Yes, ma, but just so you know Rafael, this is like a first for him, he is someone that never apologize, when I mean never, I mean it in every term of the word but he went through the pain of getting my contact, when I said I couldn't meet him, he didn't mind showing up where I am, sat with me and the first words he said after I cleared the air that I wasn't you was an apology, I don't know but nothing beats that and he already won me over with that so you better be nice to my brother-in-law and Little's father or I might cut your hair when you are not looking,"
Natalie threatened, she meant most of what we said as a joke but Nicole knew she was serious in some parts and a lot of what she said was the truth, Rafael wasn't someone that apologize, it took her a long time to convince him to apologize to Caleb and he had reluctantly done it, for him to do that on his own, well she doesn't know what to think of it until they have that talk that he asked for.
"I have heard you, I am a nice girl, but you should know he is not my husband,"
"I know, but for now,"
Natalie replied smiling like she knew something Nicole didn't know.
"What do you mean by that Natalie?"
"We will find out, anyway I am so fucking tired and hungry,"
Natalie said with a yawn.
"Hi take a bath and eat then,"
"That's what I am going to do and I will go to bed after, I still have a lot to do this week,"
"Sure, good night,"
"Good night Cole,"
Natalie responded and left.
"Don't think about it,"
Nicole told herself as she sat alone in her room but it didn't work, she spent most of the night thinking about what it might be that Rafael want to talk about with her...
