‘What is your problem Dimitri?’ he asked himself but couldn’t answer that. He was supposed to show his caring side and not hurt her but here is he doing the exact opposite.
“Stop crying and leave. If you don’t do this next time, I wouldn’t talk to you like that again, okay? Just stop crying” he whispered and all she could do was nod and sniff.
He made sure she was not crying again and hugged her till she was a bit calm before letting go and walking them closer to his table.
Mr. Gain looked at them and frowned when he saw Audriana’s state. He opened his mouth to ask but Dimitri beat him to it.
“Don’t worry too much, my wife is being very emotional right now. I promised to take her to the vacation place she has always wanted to go to so she is been so emotional now,” Dimitri explained and cleaned her face again.
Mr. Gain nods his head and smiled. “Oh young love, I need to take my wife on a vacation too. Very important to keep family going alongside business” he clapped once and gave him a thumbs up.
Dimitri just forced a smile and tighten his grip on Audriana’s waist.
“Stop crying babe, just wait for me in the car so I can take you for lunch” he walked her to the door and moved closer so he could whisper in her ear. “You brought your car, right? Go home and don’t wait up for me, just get busy and stop trying and… I wouldn’t”
He released her and opened the door for her to go out and she began walking out of his office. He sighed and excused himself then went into his bathroom to calm himself down.
When he was inside he leaned on the sink and used some water to wash his face then he cleaned his face with the face towel on the rack then he looked back to the mirror and saw that his eyes were a little bit red.
He rubbed them and it was becoming redder, he rubbed some more and felt water on his finger, he rubbed them again to realize it wasn’t just water but his tears.
‘Dimitri why are you crying?’ he asked himself but couldn’t answer himself. He leaned on the wall and slowly went down till he was sitting on the floor. He didn’t care about his clothes or anything.
Why did all the words he said to her stab him to the deepest part of his soul? Why? What in the world is happening to you? Why did he say them in the first place? Why?

Clearing her throat and ignoring the stare by his P.A, she walked towards the elevator and kept cleaning her face of any tears that fell with her palm but they don’t seem to stop or whatever. Why were you hurt by his words?
What was she expecting coming here anyways? He would hug her and kiss her like they were the only people on the earth? Leave his work just because his dear wife made him food he never asked for? What exactly was she expecting?
She increased her pace aiming to get in the elevator before she broke down and luckily for her when she pressed the button for the elevator it opened and she entered quickly and stayed by the side while she wait for it to close so she could let it out.
When it did close she burst out crying and sobbed… hard, really hard as the elevator went through floors and was grateful no one was using it now else she would have to keep them all in.
After a while, the elevator stopped and she checked to see it stopped by the fifth floor and looked up to see a man probably in his fifties enter the elevator before it closes back.
He gave her a smile that she couldn’t return so she bowed her head waiting for the elevator to get to the ground floor.
Then she moved further to where the buttons were and away from the man she suddenly felt uncomfortable with.
He seemed to carry a negative aura with him and she looked up to the digital screen that show what floor they are and saw that they were on the fourth floor already.
‘Come on’ she said in her mind and took a side glance at the man and saw that he was already looking at her. Quite startled she looked away and back to the digital screen.
“Are you okay?” he said in a rough hoarse voice and she nods looking at him from the side of her eyes. He just chuckled and brings out something from his pocket which she discovered to be a capped needle.
She turned her full attention to him when she saw it and opened her eyes wide when he made his way towards her, she pushed herself further to the wall and if it was possible to blend with the walls of the elevator she would at the moment.
“You will be fine soon darling” he smiled showing his dirty yellow teeth then went to hold her hand but she pulled away but he was able to get a hold of her hand and she struggled to get free from his hold.
He uncapped the needle and tried to insert it into her skin but she used her other hand that had the food bag to swat it to the floor at the other end.
He chuckled then pushed her to the floor and she let out a little cry of pain and tried to scramble to her feet but he was quick to lean on top of her.
She kept hitting him on his chest so as to get him off her but he held her both hands and tried to cage her hands above her head but she managed to let one of her out, scratch his wrist, and swung her hands giving him a long hard scratch across his face.
He managed to hold her both wrists in one of his again and felt liquid trailing on his face and touched his face to see blood on his finger. He looked at her the hit her across the face and she cried out in pain spluttering blood from her mouth.
“Stupid woman” he muttered and grabbed the needle she swatted from his hand then plunged it into her skin till all its content was in her then he stood up and tried to use his cloth to clean the blood on his face.
She was whimpering while on the floor and could barely keep her eyes open as she suddenly felt weak and dizzy. What was happening? Who could he be? Why was this happening to her? What did he inject her with?
She still hadn’t recovered from the slap he gave her before he injected her. She could taste the metallic liquid in her mouth and knew he hit her really hard, the throbbing in her head is enough proof too.
She rolled to her side and looked at the floor to see the blood that came out of her mouth then to her assaulter and saw that he was cleaning his face, then things started to turn and go blurry.
Her phone.
She stretched her hand towards the food bag to retrieve her phone from the side zip and was able to shakily bring it out but couldn’t see the screen properly.
She leaned her head on the floor and felt the need to throw up but couldn’t. She looked back at her phone and felt it vibrate, she couldn’t see the caller but swiped her finger around the phone but it kept on ringing.
She didn’t stop even though she was slowly going. She wasn’t going to let the man have the upper hand even if he does have the upper hand. She kept swiping the screen and heard a chuckle but ignored it.
Finally, the ringing stopped and the last she heard was.
“Where are you?” before falling unconscious.
