He stood up, walked to the shower, opened the curtains, and turned on the water to check if it was warm to use before closing them back and turning to her.
“Ready to use babe, it's time to get clean” he walked over to her and she walked to the bathroom door and held it open so he could leave.
“One after the other hubby,” she told him and scrunched her face as a dull pain made itself known around her abdomen down to the inner part of her thigh.
When she looked at him he was standing some inches away from her and was looking at the spot she was standing on seconds ago and her eyes widened when she saw what he was looking at then their eyes met and she felt her cheeks go warm in embarrassment.
How didn’t she know she was having them at this time and they were stained on the floor. She felt like smacking her forehead at the moment.
“Maybe you should leave so I can get cleaned up,” she told him and looked away from him.
He walked up to her and held her shoulders which tensed a bit but he didn’t let go and drew her closer to himself.
“Why are you feeling embarrassed by it? It is normal for every woman to get this visitor every month” he told her and she nod her head still not looking at him.
“By the way, we have been together for a really long time, and now isn't the time you feel shy or embarrassed about certain this especially around me. Remember we have eased, cried, ate, and been through this over and over again and we would be for the rest of our lives so you shouldn’t feel this way”
“Yeah, I know. How about where you wanted to take us to? It wouldn’t be possible since I have seen this now and have to stay home”
“You come first and if it meant canceling so you can be okay and comfortable, I don’t see any reason not to” he shrugged and went to check out the cabinet if she still has some pads to use.
“There are just a few here,” he said and went to her then took her hand in his before handing her the pad to use and grabbing a tissue to wipe the stain on the floor.
“Go clean up and I will fetch you some more with your relievers okay? Does it hurt?” he threw the tissue in the trash can and hug her.
“Thank you Miguel and no, I think this will just be the normal one,” she said and he kissed her hair then let go of the hug.
“I love you dear” he pecked her lips and she grinned.
“I love you too”
When he came back with some extra pads he had packed and put them in the storeroom he created and named ‘In case of urgent emergencies’. She was grateful and felt better with some of the relievers he brought for her.
They watched a movie as she ate the ice cream he brought for her with some chips he brought for himself. She would occasionally steal some from his bag or hand when he wasn’t expecting it or wasn’t watching which prompted the playful glare he threw her way.
It was nearing night time and she was getting tired so she went to the bathroom to change herself and to wear one of her comfortable Pjs.
After she was done she came out of the bathroom but couldn’t see Dimitri in the bedroom, she walked further into the room and thought he might be in their mini closet.
So she walked in there but saw no sign of him, then entered the room again and was about going out to the deck but her eyes caught something red so she turned to look at it and saw that it was a rose on the bedside table.
Walking over to it she picked it up and attached to it was a small note that reads:
‘To an amazing wife and bestie’ she bit her bottom lip to contain the grin that wanted to live on her lips.
“He just knows the right words to say,” she said and went out of the room to check for him.
“Dimitri?” she called out when she stepped down from the little steps down in the wide hallway which leads to their little living room on the yacht.
When she entered the living room, it was slightly dim and she saw some sprinkled red petals on the floor and wondered how it got here but what was on her mind was where her husband was.
The white silky curtains swayed along with the cool night breeze and she walked out of the living room to the backside of the yacht where they had star gazed the previous night before retiring back to their room.
That was where the red petals led her to and she was amazed by what she was seeing in front of her.
The duo dining set they had in the living room was there, some foot away from the railing, and had two empty plates, cutlery, and a bottle of wine sitting on top of it.
There was a big vase by the far right side and it was full of red, lilac, pink, and white blossom roses.
She giggled at his attempt at making it look colorful like she loves it to be before settling her gaze on the very handsome man who was also in his PJs, holding a sunflower in his hand with a dazzling smile on his face.
“When did you prepare all of this?” she asked still standing in the same spot she was standing in.
“Well, yesterday after I had tucked you in, early this morning when I went to get you those pads and ice cream and this evening when you went in the bathroom” he explained.
“You sure love to show those romantic bones you have, eh?”
“If I don’t show them, who would?”
“I don’t know?” she shrugged and they both laughed before walking the remaining steps to hug him.
“This is beautiful Miguel, I love it”
“I was so sure you would love it and be so happy that you might propose to me,” he told her and she laughed with a roll of her eyes. “I know I am really pretty and all but I would say yes, so” he shrugged and pulls out a chair for her to sit down.
“GOD, Dimitri you are so annoying,” she said and sat on the chair he pulled out for her.
“You wouldn't have me any other way” she rolled her eyes once more and he went to bring out the buffet that he had laid on a trolley table.
“This looks so amazing” she commented as she started to pick what she wanted to eat and was grateful that he had put ice cream for her again.
This was the best valentine she had enjoyed.
“Was this the initial date you planned for today?” she asked as she took a deep spoonful of ice cream in her mouth and stained the side of her mouth in the process.
“Here, to clean the side of your mouth and I did have some other plans but when your period came, I knew I had to improvise and show the quick and creative side of me” he winked and she raised a brow at him.
“Fine. I knew you would need me at this time and going out on the first day could suck and I mean by you frowning and saying ‘I just want to sleep and not leave the house’ so bringing it here was best, from here back to bed when you feel stressed”
“Very considerate” she commented and he nods in agreement.
“I know right?” she shook her head and continued eating.
“You have your ways with making me swoon with all your kindness, love, and affection,” she told him.
“I am happy when I see you happy that is all that matter to me”
“Happy valentines day Miguel”
“Happy valentines day Loveth” they clicked their wine cups and drank them.
