After they had rescued Audriana and brought her to the hospital, Dimitri informed her parents, his parents, Sofia, Emily, and Max so they came to the hospital to see how she was doing.
Thankfully there wasn’t much damage done to her aside from the fact that she was dehydrated, lacked food for some days, and then hit on the side of her face.
Then they found some traces of drugs in her system which was flushed out, other than that, she is good.
The doctor who treated Dimitri was the one attending to her and when he came out of her room he explained all that was found and said they could go see her then advised that they brought fruit for her.
Dimitri volunteered to go get her the fruits while they would go in to check on how she was feeling and express their happiness about her being found.
On his way outside the hospital, his phone rang and he didn’t bother checking for the caller ID, thinking it was Aiden calling to inform him about the situation there.
“Hello man, did you find anything yet?” he asked to the phone but got no response then checked to see if the call got disconnected and saw that it wasn’t Aiden’s name showing on the caller ID but a ‘Private Number’ was shown there.
Confused, he immediately disconnect the call and frowned at who that could be. He scrolled to his call log and no number could be seen under that ‘Private Number’ that called him just now.
Then a call came in and this time it was Aiden who filled him on what was going on.
“So they couldn’t catch up with whoever that was there?”
“Not at all. All though, the police didn’t want me and Caleb around so we had to go back to where the taxi was parked but it was gone by the time we came back. The shooting scared him, I am sure”
“Yeah, It should”
“Anyways, I noticed a trail which looked like someone just passed there so I alerted one of the police and we followed the trail all the while recording. It reached up to a pile of leaves and that was the end of the trail”
“Strange, did you find any other thing?” he did the one thing he didn’t think he would do and hailed down a taxi so he could get to the store on time.
“They said there were little dots of blood on the leaves so we know whoever started firing at us is injured”
“Well, at least that was something right?” he asked then started picking some fruit when he got out of the taxi.
He had paused in between the call to ask the driver if her could chatter him for the day and he agreed.
“Yeah, from how you were talking about chattering a taxi, my best guess is you aren't in the hospital”
“Yes, I am not there. I am grabbing some fruits for her” he replied then paid the woman who was selling after she had packed it up for him.
“Wow, he has some romantic bone in him” Aiden cooed and Dimitri so wished he could see him face-to-face.
“Here we go again” he muttered then opened the door of the taxi and entered after putting his purchased goods in there.
“So, are you going to offer her an apple of love? Or the sweet goodness of those oranges” he teased.
“Dude, be serious and I am getting it because the doctor said she needed them an-”
“And you volunteered to go get them, stop fooling yourself and accept that you like and care so much about her,” Aiden told him and he lay his head back on the seat and groaned in annoyance.
“You are really annoying,” he said.
“Because I am helping you to define your love life?” Aiden gasped dramatically and Dimitri could imagine the act he would be pulling as he says all these to him.
“How heartless can you be? You hurt my feelings so much” he said defeated.
“Okay, that’s it, see you later”
“Hold up, hold up”
“You have three seconds to tell me why I shouldn't han-”
“How is she?” he asked and Dimitri instantly became calm as he ignored his friend's annoying analysis.
“She is good, just dehydrated, and was starved the entire time she was taken but she needed the fruit to start with before going to eat any food,” he explained and the taxi pulled up to the hospital parking lot.
“Thank you so much man” he thanked the taxi driver and got out then took his goodies.
“Do you need me to help you?”
“Oh, no I can manage,” he said and paid the man before he left the parking lot to enter the hospital building.
“Tell her Aiden would be there soon to give her the best hu-” he disconnected the call and hissed then put his phone in his pocket so he can carry the package properly.
He will deal with him later, his main focus now is to give her this fruit, tell her what he felt about the last time they saw, and maybe apologize for hurting her.
After exiting the elevator, he let out a sign then walked to her room, and just as he was about to place his hand on the knob, it opened to reveal Sofia who has a huge grin playing on her lips.
“She was asking of you, guessed she wanted to see you when she woke up,” she told him and his brows were raised in surprise before he nodded his head and proceed to enter the room.
She was laying on the bed and was looking at her parents with a smile on her lips.
His mum was sitting on the bed as she placed a kiss on her forehead then they laughed at whatever his dad said before her eyes met with his watching ones and she froze for some seconds before a smile played on her lips.
They all turned to him and threw him warm smiles.
Moana stood up and came up to him before hugging him and as she told him thanks for keeping his promise while he wrapped his free arm around her shoulders.
“The important thing is that she is here and safe so it's no worries ma’am,” he told her and smiled before letting go of the hug.
“Thank you, Dimitri,” she said once more and turned to the rest of the gang.
“Let's leave these couple to talk” they all stood up and hugged Audriana then patted Dimitri’s shoulder on their way out except for his mum and her mum who hugged him with thanks flying out of their mouths.
“Take care okay?” Patricia said to her son and he nod his head before she turned to look at Audriana “Make sure you eat properly” she narrowed her eyes at her from that distance and Audriana nodded her head sheepishly.
