“How come I didn’t think about this?” he muttered under his breath as he watched what happened in the elevator.
She was crying when she entered and was trying to clean up her face when an older man came in. It was seen in the video how tensed and scared she looked by the way she leaned further in the wall like she wanted to blend in with it if possible.
The man had been looking at her from the time he got in and Dimitri could feel his heart race gradually as he watched her become tenser when she looked at the man and found him still looking at her.
It seems as if there was a conversation between them as he nod her head but wasn’t looking at him.
Then the man brought something out of his pocket and walked over to her. She seemed to have pushed herself further to the wall when he reached for her, she pulled away but he was able to grab her and they saw him with that thing he brought out of his pocket to be a syringe since he wanted to insert it in her.
Dimitri felt like his heart had dropped as he watched it but continued to watch further to properly look at the man’s face.
There was a struggle between them as she swatted his hand holding the syringe before he pushed her to the ground, gets on top of her, and got several hits from her as he tries to fight him off.
Dimitri couldn’t understand how to feel at the moment when he saw the horrific thing happening to her all because of his rudeness and stupidity. How did she feel when she suddenly got attacked by an unknown man in his office building just after he made her cry.
His palms formed in a fist as he continued to watch further.
The man tried to pin her hand above her head but she swung at him which must have angered him to retaliate.
“I am going to kill him” Dimitri muttered and stood up from where he was sitting.
He paced the security room and tried so bad to keep his cool and not lash out or break down.
‘He hit my wife. What man hits a woman?’ he thought as he continued pacing.
His assistant, Aiden, and the two head of security were looking at him and waiting for his next move.
After a while of pacing and questioning, he finally turned to them but he was looking at both security heads.
“How did this happen here in a building that has well-trained professional security with lots of cameras around?” was the question he asked and they both look at each other before looking back at him.
“First, we will like to apologize for this huge mistake, second, we left some of our juniors in the control room as I went to call my wife to check on her and our newborn,” the first man whose name tag identified him as Jack said then her turned to the other man whose tags identifies him as Diego.
“I went out to use the loo and when I made my way back to the control room, we were called to about an emergency in your office, that was why we rushed up to your office” Diego explained.
“None of your juniors could see that this happened?” he questioned further.
Jack was about to explain when he held out his hand.
“I am really pissed at you both but now is not the time for that, I will get back to you two but I need this footage now so we can try to see if the police can get a lead with this newfound evidence,” he told them and they both nodded then quickly fetched the footage into a flash drive.
After a minute or two, they were through with copying the footage and handed it over to Dimitri who gave them some orders and went out with Aiden to the station to give them some evidence that she was truly kidnapped.
“I really don’t know what or how to feel at the moment,” he said once they were in the car and on their way to the station.
“Don't be hard on yourself,” Aiden told him but he didn’t listen and just kept replaying how that old fool hit Audriana.
“When I get my hands on that bastard, I will kill him,” he said angrily with his palms forming tight fists.
“Now, easy there boy. A lawsuit isn't what we need at the moment, we could group beat him and make him feel how she felt and how we felt knowing that he hit our princess”
“She is my princess so cut that crap” he turned to glare at Aiden who lifted one of his hands up in surrender.
“Chill it out bro, at least I knew she carried one of my traits,” he said trying to lighten the mood but indirectly annoying his dear friend.
“What trait?”
“The fighting spirit dude, I loved how she fought back even when she felt weak around him, that is a fighter and that is what they do,” he said and Dimitri chose to ignore him and look out of the window.
“I want her back and unarmed”
“She will be back with no scratch”
Dimitri nodded and closed his eyes trying to calm his nerves down.
“Don't sweat this much, you need to be able to think properly so we don’t just act on repulse. Be calm and think of the next step after showing them this footage.
“You have your laptop here with you?”
“Yes, why?”
“Where is it?”
“In my bag at the back seat” he responded and Dimitri reached out to take the bag then sat back properly on his seat, then brought out the laptop from the bag then opened it, and switched it on.
“Same password?”
“Same password, just so you know I am faithful to you,” he said and Dimitri looked at him with furrowed brows when Aiden wriggled his brows at him, he rolled his eyes and typed in the password then it booted to the desktop screen.
He brought out the flash from his wallet and inserted it in one of the USB ports to copy the videos into the local disc of the laptop.
“We will need our copy”
“Wow, you can see what staying with Audriana for a really long time can do for you. I think you became wiser ten times than you were previously”
“You are really getting on my nerves,” he said ejecting the flash and taking it out before closing the laptop and putting it back in the bag and in the back seat.
“At least I make you feel good whenever I do,” he said.
Dimitri nods in agreement and looked out of his side of the window.
“You feel better now?”
“A bit but will be when we find her,” he told him.
“Good and you are very much welcome”
“Dumbass” Dimitri muttered under his breath and Aiden laughed out loud and they reached the station in no time.
They asked for the head of the department that was friends with Caleb and immediately was taken to his office where they saw him and he introduced himself as Inspector Gabriel Benneth.
“We have something you would like to look at” Dimitri started and handed him the flash that contained the footage.
