After dropping Oreo and Fluffier off with Gram, we are in the car and drive out to the house Samantha found.
Part of me almost thought about Tanker staying with Gram too, but it is not something I have ever done since getting him. Not that he can't stay with her but it is because the fact he is my service dog and if something happens he knows what to do, even though I have faith in my love to help me. I honestly don't want to chance it, but that is a talk we need to have soon also about what she can do to help if I have a PTSD attack.
As for the date, it honestly works out better being today for an all day event instead just a night. Now with things working out they way it has, I can mix just about every piece of the ideas I had into one very long date and day together.
Besides, I got lots of time to make up for also. Because technically everyone would say dating comes before sex or sharing the 'love you'.
Then again why be so original? Original can be boring and with Samantha things are not boring. It is making our own story in the life we share together.
"Turn on this road here." Samantha points and I follow her direction.
"Now, right there you see the speed limit sign? The drive it right after." Samantha seemingly bounces in the seat next to me.
I put my hand on her thigh and smile over to her softly.
I pull into the drive and the house is even better in person. The picture truly does not capture all the beauty and time like it has being here in person.
The front yard is spacious around and the trees make it look magically with the time of year.
"It is so beautiful." Samantha sighs and jumps out of the car.
I turn the car off and hold the keys, getting out a second later.
A older man walks out on the front porch and waves. "I knew you would be back. I could see it in her eyes, young man."
"Thank you, sir for letting us view your house on short notice." I shake his hand.
"Not a issue. My wife passed away a couple years back and I feel like it is time to move closer to our children in a different state. Their work took them away and with my wife not being here it makes it hard to be alone." He sighs.
He walks over to the door. "Well come on in and take a look around. You're both more than welcome to take as long as you would like. I will answer any questions I can for you." He waves us in behind him.
I place a hand on Samantha's back, as we walk into the house. The first floor has the open floor plan similar to Samantha's house now.
"So we had the real fireplace taken out about ten years ago, but now there is that imitation fireplace there. Just press the button on the side there and flames will flicker and even has sound control. My wife hated wood smoke but loved how it looked and sounded, so it was something I had put in." The gentleman talks.
"It is beautiful. The stone around it makes things homey, and gives it the true fireplace look. I can't even tell there is a tv screen unless I catch the light just right." Samantha beams.
"How many rooms is there?" I ask him.
"Well there is a den down here that used to be a child's play room when our kids were small. Then up stairs there are a total of five rooms, which includes the master bed and bath. There is also an attic up there with stairs but those get tricky. There is a door on the ceiling, just open it up and fold the stairs down and you will be in the attic." The man laughs lightly.
This house is huge to have so many rooms!
"May we go up and look at them?" Samantha looks between me and the gentleman.
"Be my guest young lady." He nods with a smile.
Samantha smiles brightly and darts up the staircase. I chuckle lightly and follow after a second, with Tanker next to me.
"Shane you have got to see this!" I hear her call out right as I get to the top of the staircase.
I go the direction of her voice and it leads into a large master bedroom. I look around in awe and see her by a french double door way. I wrap my arm around her and look to see her staring at the master bathroom. There is a huge tub in the corner and a stand up shower off to the side with glass doors, along with a his and hers sink.
We walk out and check the other rooms out, they are all very well sized. There is a second bathroom up here between two of the rooms, that has a basic toliet and shower combo. I see the attic door just above head by the master bedroom, but I am not to worried about checking up there yet.
With seeing everything up here, we walk back down stairs and look around. There is a third bathroom just off between the kitchen and den area, but it is a only a sink and toliet. So this house has two and a half bathrooms.
"You know if we get this house, if it's the one, there is a lot of space." Samantha smiles.
"That there is. More room for you to save animals." I chuckle.
"Or more like fill it with what our love can bloom into with kids. We have so much room for tiny feet to grow up in. I think five would be a good number." She laughs and takes off.
Five!
We hadn't talked about kids and I have no clue if she is serious or not. I thought she would maybe want to start with one possibly two. Not have a litter herself!
I watch as she takes Tanker and they walk out the back door. Footsteps snap me out of it and I turn to see the gentleman.
"That is a very nice woman you have sonny. It is clear to see the love you both have for each other. Don't lose her because take it from an old man there isn't love like that again once you find it."
I smile and nod. "I don't plan to ever let her go."
We walk outside and he goes over all the things that has been done to the house. It has new wires and plumbing within the last five years. The land out here is great and there is already a large fenced off area. He talks about hiking trails in the woods that are on this property and how the property is lined off already also.
"I think this is perfect. How much are you asking?" I turn to look at him when Samantha comes up to me and I wrap my arms around her.
"Let's go back in the house. There is already a contract I had made out for the right couple and you two fit. So I have the best deal for you both." He smiles and waves us in.
