CHERRY'S POV
I come back from work, enter my house and go straight to the dining.
I'm so tired and thirsty, I need a drink of something chilled.
Walking to the dining, something catches my attention and I walk towards the center table on the living room.
There's a file on the table.
I look at it, open it carefully, read the contents and i laugh.
Even if it's the name of my company that's written on it I won't even ask or pay attention. I'll simply act like I didn't see this.
I place the file back on the table, deep down I know who dropped this file here, but I'll act like I don't care, because I don't.
Walking to the dinner, I take a glass and get some chilled orange juice from the fridge.
Maria immediately comes to my side and telling her to take my bag upstairs, I instruct her to serve me my dinner, cause I'm so damn hungry.
She nods and some minutes later, dinner is all served and I munch away hungrily.
Hearing some noise from the stairs, I look to see Jayson chatting happily with Maria as they exchange pleasantries and the food turns sour in my mouth.
He boldly walks to the dining table, Maria serves him his dinner and he begins eating hungrily too.
He's really famished, I can see that.
I raise my hand and steal little glances as he eats, his hair parted and a little falling as he eats, I look clearly at his face.
He has not changed much from childhood though, his dark full hair, his lips, the frown lines etched on his face as he focuses on his food, God! He's still so handsome and I groan inwardly, what's wrong with me. I think to myself.
Immediately he looks up and our eyes meet, and I look away quickly.
Damnit! I was caught staring, what would he think of me now, and I get my answer already because he chuckles and I become embarrassed and blush uncontrollably.
Bending my face so he doesn't see my red cheeks, I hurriedly eat my food and as soon as I'm done, I wipe my lips with a napkin and stand up to take my leave.
"Cherry." He calls after me and I stop, turning round to face him, and he stares keenly at me without saying anything.
"What is it?" I blurt out harshly, and he clears his throats, drink some water and begin.
JAYSON'S POV
I think this is the chance to talk to her.
When I had called her name earlier, I thought that she would have ignored me, but surprisingly she answered and now she's asking what I want.
This is the first time she has spoken to me since I came, and I feel so giddy although I'm still nervous on how to approach this topic to her.
"What do you want to say, I have many important things to do and right now you are wasting my time."
I don't even know what to say, staring at her beautiful face and full oil stained lips, I try my best not to be aroused or anything.
She raises her eyebrows at me, following my eyes which are currently on her breasts, fuck!
"Uhmmm, I love your shirt, it's really pretty." I say foolishly and immediately I regret that statement because she hisses, turns and walks away without saying anything at all to me, and I think I deserve it.
Was that my best pick up line? I'm supposed to tell her about the meeting for goddamn sake.
I'm just so foolish, I think to myself, slamming my hands on my forehead and cursing loudly.
I just missed this God-sent opportunity.

CHERRY'S POV
What's wrong with this guy?
I pull of my clothes and walk into the bathroom.
When I'm done, I wear my pyjamas, lie on the bed and my thoughts drift off to him. 'How do i get over him, why I can't just stop thinking about him?' I ask myself.
My phone beeps with an incoming message, snapping me out of my thoughts and I see it's a message from the company investor's group actually informing me I have a meeting tomorrow.
Wait! Is this not the same address and name I saw on the file Jayson left on the table, which I saw earlier.
'Was this why he called me back earlier, was he afraid to tell me, thinking I wouldn't agree to follow him or what?'
I burst into fits of laughter.Well, this is what I want, I want him to be scared of me and at the same time, I'm feeling bad about it.
Well, nothing is going to change how I feel about him, and I'll continue punishing him, giving him cold stares so he'll be scared to talk to me.
I don't need him anymore, all these years I fared fine without him, and I can do so now.
Who cares? Absolutely no one, not me, never me and definitely wouldn't be me.

JAYSON'S POV
My eyes are open, and that’s because I can't sleep.
What would I tell the shareholders and investors tomorrow, when they ask about her.
Maybe I'll just lie that she's sick, or couldn't come or whatever will set me free tomorrow.
