Chapter 77
"How did you know?" Jared asked softly, I noticed the concern in his eyes. He must have noticed that I seemed to have difficulty speaking.
"It doesn't matter, Just… do something about it" I said before I quickly stood up and walked out of the tent.
I knew Jared would doubt if he would believe me but I also knew he had a lot of trust in me and he knew I wouldn’t say that for no reason.
And just like what I expected, Jared prepared everything for the start but the truth is, he prepared everything for the defense.
That was not supposed to happen. What really happened was that they suddenly rushed Psyche and we had no idea. We were not ready and many were already preparing for sleep so we quickly lost the battle.

"Lina?" I looked away when someone called to me and Jared and I caught sight of each other.
Her eyes widened and she frowned when she saw that I was having a hard time. He quickly ended the life of his opponent before walking quickly in my direction.
I couldn’t hold back my tears as he got closer and closer. I wanted to run over to him and hug him one last time. I wanted to go to her and tell her that I loved her so much because I didn’t have a chance to say that to her but against my will, I stood up and quickly ran in Alissa’s direction.
Jared was shocked at what I did and could not speak immediately but when he saw where I was going I heard him shout loudly. “Alissa! Behind you! ”
I accelerated my run when Psyche stretched out her hand and released black magic that would end the lives of Alissa and madame Diana, which would begin the end of the world.
I didn't know how long I would reach so I used my remaining strength and controlled the wind around me to run faster. I didn't know where my strength came from as long as I realized that I was already standing in front of Alissa and I suddenly felt severe pain in my chest.
I even stepped up because of the strong impact of the black magic hitting my back before I gradually ran away with my remaining strength.
I stared at Alissa who was staring at me, her tears flowing and her ugly look.
I smiled at him one last time before my body gave up and I fell to the floor.
"Lina!" I no longer knew who called me as long as I knew there were familiar hands hugging me.
“Lina! Don’t die… please ”I stared into Jared’s familiar eyes.
“Jared…” I could barely hear my own voice.
"Don't die, don't die…" He whispered again.
"I told you… We won't have a happy ending" I told him before I could feel my tears flowing and his grip on me tightened even more.
I was slowly losing consciousness and my whole body was numb but I could hear the sobs coming from him which made me feel even more painful.
I feel so much pain all over my body but I feel more painful emotions when I hear her sobs I am the reason.
“I’m sorry… I love you…” I said one last time…
And that's when I realized, that death is not the most painful thing a person can experience but the lifelong farewell to the person you still want to be with for a long time.
I felt my tears flow even more when I saw Lina's eyes gradually closing. Her hand fell to the floor and that's when I woke up to the fact that Lina was gone.
I knelt next to captain Jared who couldn't help but sob and hugged the lifeless Lina tightly.
I gently stroked Lina's hair as I repeatedly wiped away my tears that wouldn't stop dripping.
“She died… because of me…” My fists clenched and I bit my lower lip very hard.
Yes it’s my fault but this is not the time for me to blame myself.
I stood up straight before looking back at Psyche. It's time to end this fight, so that Lina's sacrifice is not in vain.
“Do you think the frozen heart skill will really work for me? I thought you’re better than that Anna, I was once an ice user and I knew about that spell. Didn't you think that I would do anything to avoid being affected by that spell? ” We all turned our attention to Psyche when she started talking.
I narrowed my eyes at him and could feel my blood boiling especially when I saw the smiles on his lips as if he just didn’t have everything. As if he had nothing to do with Lina's death.
“Woah, Don’t look at me like that. Your friend won't die if he doesn't hit you and block you. ”
With that, I could no longer restrain myself.
“Fuck you”
I quickly teleported in front of him and gathered my ice power in my right hand before stretching it in his direction.
From my hand came out a dazzling white light and it hit Psyche directly so he sprang backwards and was dragged to the floor.
The floor I was standing on froze but I ignored it and was about to teleport to Psyche when suddenly someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and my mom and I caught sight of each other.
"Together, let's end this" he said to me before turning his attention to Psyche who was slowly getting up from the floor.
"Yes… For Lina" Captain Jared also slowly walked towards us. His eyes are still red but his face shows the determination to end this war.
“Count me in…” I turned to the familiar voice and there I saw Trevas walking towards us, he was still in a different form so his voice was deep and scary. It looks like he has already defeated Luke.
I nodded before looking in Psyche's direction “Together. For Lina… and all the people we lost ”
After that I felt mama's fusion with me. I felt the gradual mixing of his power with the power flowing in my body and I felt that the power was overflowing inside me but I did not focus my attention there.
I poured my magic into my hands before I quickly teleported to the already standing Psyche and I saw that Trevas and Captain Jared did the same.
I immediately waved in Psyche's direction my hands wrapped in ice magic but he avoided and suddenly disappeared in front of me.
He emerged a few steps away from me before he released the black creatures from where he stood.
‘Do you have a plan?’ I heard mama’s familiar voice in my brain as I fought the black creatures.
‘Kill Psyche no matter what’ was my sparing answer before I raised my hands and from there emerged the dazzling light that stunned all Psyche’s staff surrounding me.
‘That’s not a plan’
I ignored mama's voice and immediately rushed in the direction of Psyche who was currently fighting with Trevas and Captain Jared at the same time. Trevas has punches and shots that hit Psyche but it’s obvious that Psyche’s power is stronger than the two of them.
I gathered my power again in my palms and from there came out a white light which quickly flew in the direction of Psyche. Because Trevas and captain Jared were busy fighting, Psyche didn't notice my impending attack so she was dragged to the floor for the second time.
Thick ice again covered where I was standing and the direction of Psyche's dragging so I frowned.
‘Why does my ice magic seem so strong?’ I asked mama.
‘I’m not sure, but I think, that’s because you’ve been sealed off by magic for a long time’
I nodded before walking closer to Trevas. ‘So you’re saying, my power has accumulated over the years so now that the seal has been removed, my power is overflowing?’
‘Probably’
I looked at my hands that were still slightly shining and I could feel my power. That explains why I seem to feel weird ever since my magic seal was removed.
"Hahahaha" my attention returned to the present when I heard Psyche's annoying laugh.
"It's unfair, there are four of you and I'm working together" said Psyche but the smiles still lingered on her lips as if she was planning something bad.
I don't know why I was suddenly nervous because of his smiles but I feel like something bad is going to happen.
"It's four against one… why don't we remove one of you?" he said laughing before turning behind him and shouting. "Mara!"
