"How does it feel now, huh?" Sonia asked glaring into my eyes as well, "you remembered you once gave me a slap like this," she said and before I knew it she slapped my face again on the same cheek.
"The first slap is a pay back slap of the one you gave me at the hospital and the second is for messing with my man," Sonia said and I think she was about to slap me again when Alex interrupted.
"Get away from my Mummy, or I am going to call the police," Alex shouted staring angrily at Sonia.
"Oh, I see..." Sonia said turning to Alex, "the man of the house wants to call the police," she added and the three men laughed out hysterically, including Sonia, I glared at them feeling very frustrated, how did I let this happen? I should not have opened the door to a stranger, I said within me, I used to tell my kids that and here I have done what I warned them about...
"Sorry darling, but the police cannot do anything to help your Mummy because your mummy is at fault here," Sonia told Alex.
"Please let my Mummy go," Sandra pleaded, "Don't worry she will say sorry to you," Sandra added.
"Oh, honey..." Sonia said mockingly.
"Mummy, please say sorry to them so that they can let us go," Sandra said pleadingly to me and I felt like my heart broke into pieces seeing my kids like this, I was the one who taught them that they should always say sorry to someone they've wronged so that the person can forgive them, but my kids are still naïve and little to understand what is going on here, and I blame myself for putting them in this situation.
"I think you should do that," Sonia said turning to me, "I think you should do what your daughter says," she added, I grinned at her knowing she is mocking me right now.
"See, honey, your Mummy does not want to apologize to us," Sonia said again turning to Sandra.
"Please say sorry to them, Mummy," Sandra said pleadingly again.
"Do not listen to them, Sandra..." I was saying when Sonia grabbed on to my hair, tilting my head up so that I can look into her face as she smiled wickedly at me.
"Where is your strength now? You were acting rude to me the other day because of your friends, now that they are not here I want to see how powerful you are," Sonia told me.
"If you wanted to know how powerful I am, you should never have come here with your tugs then," I told her in return, trying to hold back from screaming because of the pain I feel in my head from her grip on my hair.
"Mummy..." Alex and Sandra cried again, I know they are so frightened because of what is going on.
"Shut up," Sonia yelled turning to Alex and Sandra, letting go of my hair.
"Don't you shout on my kids, Sonia," I yelled at her too, and started struggling to break free from this tug's grip again.
"And what will you do?" Sonia asked turning back at me, "for your information, these kids no longer belong to you as they are now I and Kyle's kids," Sonia told me.
"Do not be ridiculous, Sonia," I grinned at her for making such a statement.
"Oh yes, I forgot to give you the good news," Sonia told me with a smile on her face, "I and Kyle are getting married at the end of this month, do not worry, I will make sure to bring you an invitation card, and don't forget to give this good news to your friends too," Sonia added.
"And before I forget," Sonia said again and snapped her finger, the man holding Alex came forward to where she is standing and produced a piece of paper, he gave the paper to Sonia and walked back to where he was standing with the man holding Sandra, "Here is an open cheque from the Greenwood’s," Sonia said walking closer to me with the piece of paper in her hand, "you can write the figures you want on it and the money is yours, it is for your trouble in raising the kids," she added placing the cheque in my apron.
"To hell with your money, Sonia, I do not want it, and for the hundredth time, my kids are mine, not Kyle's," I yelled at her feeling so useless right now, my kids are crying for help and I can do nothing to help them, "Let go of me, you b*stard," I screamed, turning to the man whose hands still held me tight.
"Why are ungrateful? We are doing you a favor here, you should be thankful that we are going to give these kids a better life than what you have here," Sonia told me.
"I do not want your favors and leave my kids alone," I yelled again, still trying to fight the man off me.
"The report I have here shows that they are a match with, Kyle, and that is why he was able to donate his blood to your son in the first place, oops, point of correction, his son, now my son," Sonia said in such a mocking manner, "and one more thing, Kyle said you should never contact him again, that is why he sent me here with his men to get his kids from you, I think he is very angry with you, poor you," Sonia said with a dirty smirk on her face, something I wished I could slap out of her face this minute.
"Now kids take a good look at your Mummy," Sonia said walking back towards Alex and Sandra, "Because this is going to be the last time you are going to see her," she added and then winked an eye to the men holding Alex and Sandra.
"Where are you taking my kids?" I screamed as the men turned towards the door still holding Alex and Sandra.
"They are going to their Dad's house of course," Sonia told me winking an eye at the man holding me too and then turned heading towards the door as well.
"No, no, no, they are my kids, not Kyle's, Sonia," I shouted after Sonia, she paused by the door and turned to me again.
"I think you might want to check your kitchen before this place burns down, or you might as well burn in it," Sonia said smiling wickedly before walking out of my house.
I kept on struggling with the man who held me tight, screaming and shouting for Sonia to bring my kids back to me when suddenly he pushed me to the floor and left my house too as fast as he could.
I scrambled off the floor and ran out of my house too after them, but I was too late, their car zoomed off in front of me, I tried to run after it but I fell to the ground, Sonia brought out her face from the car window and waved at me, and I think she is smiling as well...
"My kids, bring back my kids..." I cried, scrambling off the ground again to run after them as that was the only thing I could think of, when suddenly, a car parked in front of me and Vicky came down from it running towards me.
"Kim, Kim what happened? Why are you like this?" Vicky asked almost immediately holding on to me.
"My kids, they have my Alex-Sandra with them," I cried to Vicky, I do not even know how she came to be here as what matters to me now is my kids, "we need to go, they have my kids," I cried to her again, almost out of breath, I feel like I am going to die right now.
"What are you talking about, Kim? Get a hold of yourself and tell me exactly what is going on here, one of the Kids called me but before I could hear what they are saying the line went dead, I called back but no one picked up." Vicky told me, speaking so fast as she did, looking at me all over as well.
"Look, Vicky, Kyle sent his men and that fiancée of his to come and get my kids, they took Alex-Sandra with them," I told Vicky, trying to speak properly so that she can hear me, "look at this," I said producing the cheque Sonia placed in my apron, "this is the cheque that b*tch of a woman, Sonia gave to me, they said I can write whatever amount I want on it, for my troubles of raising my kids, can you imagine that?" I told and asked Vicky at the same Time feeling so miserable right now.
"Vicky, Kim, what is going on? What happened here?" I heard Jimmy's voice, I do not even know when he got here or how he got here too.
"You are so late, the both of you are so late," I yelled pulling on their clothes wishing they had gotten here a little earlier and then fell and sat on the ground afterwards and began to cry bitterly, as I feel like my feet could not carry me any longer.
"I should not have answered the door, I should have called for help... why did I not call for help?..." I kept on talking to myself, not knowing what else to do at the moment, I did not even pay attention anymore to Vicky and Jimmy, who were talking to themselves and the next thing I heard which caught my attention was when someone screamed fire...
"Fire?" I asked looking up and wiping the tears that blurred my vision, to see some people running towards my house,
"Oh no, my house is on fire!"...
