Sitting out here in the hospitals' lobby I feel so uneasy, today is the day Dr Sam asked me to come in and collect the results of the DNA test I sent to him some days back.
On my way in a nurse told me that Dr Sam is performing surgery and that I should wait out here for him, I wonder how much longer I would wait, the surgery is taking forever already.
"Excuse Me, nurse," I said going back to the nurse at the counter, "how much longer is Dr Sam going to take in the surgery?" I asked trying to keep my cool.
"I do not know, Sir, but I think Dr Sam will be out soon, so please kindly wait for him, or if it is urgent, I would advise you to see another doctor available," the nurse told me.
"No, nurse, that will not be necessary," I told her in return, "I would like to wait for Dr Sam, so please do inform me the moment he gets out of surgery," I told her again.
"Alright, Sir," she replied before I walk back to my seat.
I have never known that waiting for something can be this exhausting and mind draining, I do not think I have waited for anything like this before in my life, I just keep making scenarios in my head on how I would feel if the result turns out to be positive, although I am still doubting the possibility of that, but I would really love it if that were to be true because that would mean me calling off my wedding with Sonia automatically.
I may not be able to tell Dad and Mum about Alex and Sandra if they were to mine, but at least it is going to give me a new lease of life, I am probably going run away with them, my only challenge is going to be Kimberly, I still do not know how I will be able to convince her or where I will start apologizing from if her kids turn out to be mine as well.
Stop making too many assumptions, Kyle, you do not know yet the out of the results, a voice in my head told me, where the heck is Dr Sam? I asked within me almost immediately unable to take the mental torture anymore.
My gosh, I think I am going to go crazy waiting out here for Dr Sam, why will he be in surgery today of all days? I mean I have waited so impatiently for these past three days, it was as if time was moving slowly, the days and nights became longer and finally on this day Dr Sam is found to be in surgery.
I know that Sonia too, must be waiting impatiently for this day to come because today is the day that Dad told her to come to me so that we can start our wedding preparations.
I had to leave home very early this morning because I want to ditch Sonia, I was thankful she did not spend last night at our house else it would have been very difficult ditching her to this hospital, I mean she could have had me followed, even so, I still need to be cautious of her tailing from now on.
I also have to turn my cell phone off because I would not want a situation where Dad will call and command me to go home or to do a thing.
"Excuse me, Sir," the nurse called for me, "Dr Sam is out now, you can go to his office," the nurse told me.
"Thank you," I replied standing up as quickly as I can and walking to Dr Sam's office as fast as my leg can carry.
"Hello, Kyle, you are here so early," Dr Sam told me when I entered his office.
"Yes, Dr Sam, I have been waiting for about two hours now," I told in return, and grabbing a seat facing his table without being told to seat first by him, I feel like my feet are trembling a little or perhaps it is me being nervous at the moment.
"Two hours?" Dr Sam asked, I know he will be surprised to hear that, "why did you come this early, Kyle?" He asked, staring at me in a way I do not understand.
"I am sorry, Dr Sam but I wanted to know the results of the samples I gave to you, I hope it is ready, I tried calling you earlier but you weren't picking up either," I said to him.
"Yes, Kyle, I was in surgery, it has been a hectic morning for me, the patient we had was in a really bad shape," he told me.
"I hope the surgery went well?" I asked trying to ease my nerves a little, but I do not think it worked because I feel very nervous still.
"Yes, Kyle, it did, hopefully, my patient is going to live," Dr Sam replied taking a seat in his chair.
"Okay, back to the business that brought you here," Dr Sam told me, rubbing his palms together and staring at me, his stare made me feel more uneasy than I am.
"Alright, Dr Sam," I replied trying to sound normal.
"The result of the DNA is out," Dr Sam said, giving me an envelope.
"And?" I asked taking it away from him and looking up at him.
"Go on, open it," he told me gesturing for me to go ahead and open the envelope while he sits back on his chair and stared at me.
"Alright, Dr Sam," I told him, as I began to open the envelope, I feel my hands trembled as I did, and when I finally have the papers in front of me, I dropped them almost immediately again on Dr Sam's table...
