"Is this the lady?" A police officer asked the two policemen who had arrested me, immediately we walked into the police station.
I presume he is superior to the two policemen who brought me here judging by the air of authority he exhibits...
"Yes, she is," one of them replied.
He stared at me for a while as if he is checking me out or trying to assess me, I too stared at him in return making my assessment of him, he's a big fellow who should be in his mid-forties, but looking at him I just can't make a distinct judgement about him.
"Okay take her in." He instructed the men.
"What am I being arrested for exactly?" I asked the officer angrily, holding my hands up, gesturing at the handcuff on my wrist.
"Officer Scott, did you not tell her why she is being arrested?" He asked turning to look at one of the officers who arrested me.
"We did, sir, please do not listen to this lady," the officer replied.
I was about to say something when I heard Jimmy’s voice, I stopped and turned instead to look at him.
"Excuse me, Officer," he said to the superior officer.
"Take her in, Officers," the superior officer told the policemen.
"How may I help you?" The superior officer asked, turning to face Jimmy, I was turned away from there towards the cell area, so I couldn't hear any more of what they are talking about, I just hope I get to leave here soon and be with my kids.
"Go in," officer Scott told me after taking out the handcuffs from my writs, gesturing for me to walking into the open cell, there's a rugged-looking lady in the cell, she looked steadily at me as I walked into the cell.
Officer Scott locked the cell again when am in, "How long are going to keep me here?" I asked,
"This depends on how long Miss Sonia wants you to stay here," Officer Scott replied.
"This is not right and you know it," I snapped.
"This will teach you not to slap just anyone again," the other officer whom I do not know his name yet said in return before they walked away, I didn’t care what their names were anyway and I wouldn't have learnt of Scott's name if I didn’t hear his superior officer mention it, otherwise, I would have gotten that from their uniforms.
"There she is," I heard someone say as soon as I walked over to sit at a corner of the cell, I looked up to see Sonia standing outside my cell, I guess she has come to rob it in.
"How does it feel to be in there away from your family?" She asked, with a smack on her face.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, farrowing my brows at her, even though I know what she has come here to do.
"I've come to see how you are doing, I must say this place suits you well," she said looking around the place, "And you should be thankful, at least you've got company," she said referring to the rugged-looking lady in the cell with me, the lady shot her a furious glance.
"Tell them to let me go, Sonia,"
"What? Are you out of my mind or something? You're going to stay here until you have learned your lesson, and don't you ever address me in such manner again, show some respect when you address me," she said with a grin on her face.
I stared at her as she speaks, feeling my blood boil, I really wished that I had given her a better slap than the one I gave her before, I mean, she's acting like a spoilt brat.
"And oh, lest I forget, I saw your escort on my way in, didn't I tell you he won't be able to do anything?" She said, her face lighting up.
"You can only get out of this place on one condition,"
"Which is?" I asked, my brows furrowed at her.
"That you crawl on your knees and beg for my forgiveness, maybe that way I might have a rethink and reduce your stay here."
"You must be out of your mind, Sonia," Jimmy said from behind Sonia before I could get the chance to say anything.
"How can you even think a thing like that, if there's anyone to apologize here, that should be you," Jimmy added.
"Oh, here comes the poor escort," Sonia said, clicking her teeth together making a mocking sound.
"How did it go, escort boy?" She asked spitefully, but with a smack on her face.
I bit down my lower lip angrily staring at her, I bet Jimmy too feels the same way judging by the look on his face.
"Oh, that's my phone ringing, I think my fiancé's calling me, let me know through the policemen when you are ready to go on your knees," she told me with that smack on her face, "Bye escort boy," she added winking an eye at Jimmy.
