Kimberly Brown's POV
"Oh, thank goodness Mrs Brown, you found him," Doctor Sam said to me immediately we walked into his office, I think he was still trying to contact Kyle because he had his phone in his hand when we walked in but placed it on his table the moment he saw us walk in.
"What happened to your phone?" Doctor Sam asked turning to Kyle immediately, "I've been calling you all morning but I couldn't get to you," he added.
"Am sorry Doctor Sam, I didn’t know my phone is off, what happened? How is Alex?" He asked, like he cared, and I just couldn't take it.
"Like you care," I snapped at him furiously.
"Excuse me, I do care," he replied immediately also, and I felt like giving him a smack on the face for saying that to me, if he cared like he is making it seem since we met this morning, he would have made sure to call Doctor Sam for an update or better still made sure his phone is on, he would not also be on his way to work...
"You care? Or you pretend like you care," I couldn't help but brawl at him, because I know what I had to go through looking for him since early this morning.
"Oh yes I care that's why am here," he snapped right back taking me off guard.
"Wait a minute guys, this is not the time for this," Doctor Sam said, coming in between, but I was too furious to listen.
"Did I hear you say you care," I yelled at him.
"Yes, I care for the boy, and it's not my fault if you can't understand that." He yelled back too. "You have been rude to me all morning and you don't want to hear what I have to say," he added.
"I am not interested in whatever it is you are going to say to me, you know why? Because it's going to be nothing but lies, you went home to your comfort zone and slept through the night or probably having fun while my son's here fighting for his life, and that's because you don't care," I snapped again.
"No, that's not true, and that's not what happened, I was going to come here later," he replied.
"You're such a lair," I yelled at him, "You were on your way going to work when you saw me, so stop pretending like you care." I brawled.
"I not a lair, I stopped, didn't I?" He asked, glaring at me.
"Oh don't, stop it, you lair," I snapped again.
"That's enough both of you," Doctor Sam yelled at the both of us raising his hands, we both stopped going at each other at once and turned to face him.
I am still very angry of course because I never imagined I will go look for him the way I did today, first I had to go to his office address and was treated like trash there because to them, I don't look presentable to be there looking for Mr Kyle, as if that wasn't enough, I had to be humiliated again by the security man at his house, what a life, but I had to bear with all these because of my son.
"Lair," I said angrily again turning to Kyle.
"Mrs Brown, stop it, your son's life is at risk right now and you are here fighting with the one man who has the chance of saving his life," Doctor Sam said to me.
"He was the one who put his life at risk in the first place Doctor!" I snapped at Doctor Sam, angry that he would say such a thing to me. "Do you want me to worship him," I added angrily.
"Wait, Doctor Sam, what are you talking about?" Kyle asked, looking like he is worried, and that made my good boil, because, to me, he is only pretending.
"Alex needs blood transfusion right away, that's why I've been calling you all morning," Doctor Sam replied to him.
"Okay, am ready," Kyle said, " But what about his parents?" He asked almost immediately turning to look at me.
"They're not a match," Doctor Sam told him, " Come we don't have much time, we need to go now," he added, walking towards the door out of his office, Kyle followed him immediately, while I followed behind...
"Kim, what took you so long?" Vicky asked as we met each other at the lobby, Sandra is sleeping on Jimmy’s lap.
"Vicky, how's Alex doing?" I asked Vicky instead, watching Kyle and Doctor sam so ahead.
"He'll be fine," she said holding my hand, I can see through her, and I know that she is worried but is trying to keep calm.
'He hasn't woken up yet?" I asked peering at her.
"No, not yet Kim," she replied, "you look so angry, what happened to you? You took so long to find Kyle," she added.
"Yes, Kim what happened to you? I was meaning to ask the same question," Jimmy asked too.
"You can't believe how humiliated I was today, I've never been humiliated like that in my life before."
"Why, what happened?" Vicky asked.
"It's a long story, Vicky, I'll tell you later, all I want now is for Alex to get better, I told her, "Has Sandra been sleeping for long?" I asked looking from Vicky to Jimmy.
"No, she slept not long ago," Jimmy replied,
"She’s asked after you Kim," Vicky told me, looking from Sandra to me, "you've been gone for long," she added.
"It's wasn't supposed to be that way, if not for the discrimination, I would have gotten to that b*stard long before now," I told them, getting angry again.
"Was it that bad?" Vicky asked peering at me.
"Yes, first it was his so-called office, and then the security man at his house, they won't let me through, they thought I have come to beg, can you imagine, me, a bigger!" I said with clenched teeth, getting very angry again.
"Calm down Kim, Calm down, you don't need to get yourself worked up for this, all this will be over soon," Jimmy said from where he is seated, and Sandra still sleeping peacefully on his lap.
"Don't let it bother you, Kim," Vicky said to me too, patting my shoulders.
"I think I need some water," I said to Vicky afterwards,
"I'll come with you, I think I need some too," Vicky said.
"You two should get something to eat as well, you haven't eaten anything since yesterday," Jimmy told us before we leave...
