Third Person’s POV
Brett was feeling a mix of emotions after Sebastian interrupted his attempt to kiss Agatha. Confusion, annoyance, and a hint of regret.
Was he happy that he didn’t make any mistake?
Or was he mad that he couldn’t follow what he desires?
Anyway, time went on and Sebastian joined Brett and Agatha for dinner.
Sebastian stared at them alternately. He raised his brows before saying, “So, what I saw before is someone helping Agatha to get the dust out of her eye, huh?” Sebastian questioned Brett, who remained silent.
Brett did not answer. However, Agatha quickly jumped in to clarify the situation. "I've told you before, he's my uncle. Don't jump to conclusions," she defended firmly.
Brett couldn't help but be impressed by Agatha's quick thinking. Not only that, but she seemed getting better in lying.
"Alright, let's go with that,” Sebastian said with a grin directed at Brett.
Brett continued eating his steak, chewing thoughtfully as he observed Sebastian. "You know, I've invited you for dinner many times before. It's interesting that you decided to join us tonight."
Sebastian's smile faltered as he met Brett's gaze. "Back then, I didn't know you'd end up being my uncle."
Brett forced a smile in response, trying to hide his discomfort.
"But you know what, Agatha?" Sebastian said, breaking the silence.
Agatha looked up, her eyes filled with apprehension. "What is it?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Your fiance should be here, taking care of you," Sebastian stated firmly. "If you've been kicked out by your other relative, shouldn't he be by your side? Does he even know that you're with your uncle?"
Agatha's mouth opened, but no words came out. It was clear that she had lost her ability to come up with excuses after lying so much that day.
"I sometime thinks that your relationship with your fiance isn't real," Sebastian added fuel to the fire.
Thus, Brett came to rescue the poor servant of mine. “Sessy~”
The moment Brett let slip Sebastian's dreaded old nickname, Sebastian shot him a fierce look.
"Don't talk with your mouth full," Brett scolded. Agatha, seated right behind him, nodded vigorously in approval. "Just eat up and leave."
"And who said I was leaving?" Sebastian retorted. "I might just spend the night here... my dear UNCLE."

In every grand mansion owned by Brett Holmes, there are spare rooms designated for guests. Naturally, there are plenty of vacant spaces in his residence. Nevertheless...
"For your first night here, I offer you the attic," Brett proposed to Sebastian, gesturing upwards with his index finger.
Some may have taken offense at the host's suggestion, but not Sebastian. Ignoring Brett's blunt words, he chose the room next to Agatha's. "I like that spot. It's close to Agatha."
The young woman sitting between them observed the two men, sensing the tension in the air. She could see that they were unlikely to get along, judging by the sharp glares they exchanged. However, she was more concerned about Sebastian staying in the same house.
'What if he'll find out that I'm not really Mr. Brett’s niece?' she sighed internally.
"Ahh, one more thing!" Brett blurted as he crossed his arms then raised one to brush his smooth hair. "How can you sleep here without your things? You didn't bring your toothbrush too."
They are only excuse to shoo him away. Laughing ideally at this childish excuses, Sebastian opened his mouth, "I bet you're not that cheap to give me a new toothbrush. And though..." He stopped for a moment then narrowed his eyes to Brett’s physique. Then he continued while tilting his head, "...I don't really like your style in clothes because it looks plain and boring, ahmmmm, okay, let me try wearing it. It'll be a good experience, I guess. I mean, wearing my uncle's shirt."
Brett has a lot of space in his patience meter. He was so sure about this but weirdly, his hypothesis wavered as he stared at Sebastian’s face. The smile on his lips was long gone but only grimace was left.
"Don't worry, uncle. I won't do anything to your niece. You are so over protective to your relatives," Sebastian teased. As his Adam's apple moves up and down while laughing, Brett felt more annoyed. But that doesn't mean he'll raise the white flag in front of him.
"Wait for me. I'll get you a very cute pajamas, a toothbrush and a cherry flavored toothpaste. This uncle will treat you well, you LITTLE KID,” Brett said.
When he turned around, he could feel Sebastian gaze the pierced his nape. So after sensing his victory, he walked away with a smirk.
Sebastian and Agatha found themselves alone, prompting Sebastian to shift his focus from the annoying guy to her.
"Why?" she inquired as she noticed his intense gaze on her face. She felt as though he could burn a hole through her cheek if given a few more seconds.
"I've come to a realization," he murmured softly, ensuring she could hear his words clearly. "You're not in love with teacher Lawrence."
Silence fell between them as her lips parted in surprise.
"That means you were coerced into the arranged marriage," he continued.
Her lips moved, trying to form words but failing to do so.
"You no longer have feelings for Mikhail, nor do you truly care for your fiancé. And I'm fine with that," he said with a gentle smile.
Sebastian tousled her hair affectionately before bidding her goodnight and retreating into the room he had chosen.
Agatha wanted to stop him and say more regarding her feelings but it's too late. The door is closed already.
'I wanted to say that I do have someone that I like,' she confessed ideally while thinking of her boss, Lanceil.
Was it because she lost a chance? Or maybe, there’s something more?
When she looked at the direction where Brett went into, she felt a subtle hint of this hesitation. Still, she was afraid to give it a name.
