Sold as Slave Chapter 15

“Did you cook Smoke Salmon Trasta?” Agatha stopped and looked back at her boss. Sitting up on the sofa, Lanceil was looking at her. She had a hard time answering as she didn’t expect Lanceil to know that she was watching him for a long time. “Y-Yes. I cooked Smoke Salmon Trasta.” Lanceil frowned. Was it a coincidence that this lady knows all his favorites? The only person who knew this was his dead wife, Olive. Lanceil stood up and walked towards the kitchen. Seeing him enter the kitchen, Agatha couldn’t help but ask, “Are you going to eat dinner, Sir?” Lanceil halted. He looked at Agatha, but he never responded. Instead, Lanceil just perched down and stared at the food on the table. ‘Smoke Salmon Trasta.’ He wondered if the taste was the same as his wife’s cooking. And so, he picked up a spoon and had a taste of Agatha’s cooking. His eyes widened. The recipe is the same! Lanceil felt nostalgic for eating something that really resembles his wife’s cooking. His heart was elated, and he felt like crying all of a sudden. ‘This is just like what Olive cooked. As if she came back alive and…’ Slowly, his eyes went to Agatha, who was watching him from a good distance. Black hair, emerald eyes, white skin, and a small face. Lanceil denied the truth from the very first time he met Agatha. But now, he had to admit that Olive and Agatha have a resemblance. ‘Is heaven punishing me?’ He had doubts. Lanceil remained wordless as his eyes were onto her. One second passed. Two seconds passed. Three seconds passed. Agatha could feel the intensity of his stare, and she was the first one who backed down. Now… a minute has passed. “Let’s eat,” Lanceil broke the silence. During months of working for Lanceil, never did Lanceil allow Agatha to join him for a meal. Eating with a maid isn’t usual in any household, everyone can assume it. So, Agatha was really surprised by his invitation. All this time, she saw him as the cold-hearted boss. ‘Did I mistake him?’ Agatha started to doubt her intuition. ‘Or he is slowly opening his heart to me?’ When she was about to reach for a chair and perch down, she remembered the number one rule she had read somewhere, while studying the ways of seduction. ‘Men don’t like an easy-to-get woman because they like to pursue,’ Agatha reminded herself. Therefore… “N-No sir. How can I eat together with you? I’ll eat later,” Agatha declined as a part of her hard-to-get act. “Is that so? Then do what you want,” Lanceil answered. Agatha felt wronged. Lanceil didn’t pursue or ask her to stay. ‘I would never follow the book again,’ she complained inwardly before she forced a smile to her boss. “On second thought, I am really hungry right now. Will it be okay for me to sit down and eat with you?” She tried to open the negotiation again. “I hate repeating myself,” Lanceil said without looking back. Agatha celebrated secretly and then sat on the seat across from her boss. Dinner was finished with a long silence. Neither the two of them spoke about how they’d enjoyed the meal. For Lanceil, he might be absorbed by some things. But for Agatha, the atmosphere was too strained she felt throttled. Abruptly, Lanceil stood up and started piling the plates one by one. “I’ll wash the dishes,” Lanceil offered. He stood up and started piling the plates one by one. Agatha stopped her boss by snatching the plates from his hand. “Sir! This is my job. How can I let you wash the dishes? That’s too absurd. I’ll do it.” “You have a class later, right? Just go and prepare. The food is delicious, so it’s fine.” Lanceil put the plate on the sink. Agatha stared at his back. Her first impression of Lanceil is that he’s a cold-hearted and apathetic person. But tonight, she could tell that Lanceil was only wary of her because she was a woman. Moreover, she couldn’t whisk the possibility that until now, Lanceil is still in love with his dead wife. ‘The weirdest part is that I felt sad thinking about this,’ Agatha uttered silently. “Where are the new sponge?” Lanceil asked. “The sponge? I put it there, Sir.” “Where?” Agatha walked closer and opened the cabinet above. Because the cabinet was too high for her, Agatha tiptoed as she tried to get it. Lanceil saw her struggle. “Wait, Sir. I’m sure I really put the spong…” “Let me.” His chest was firmly pressed on her back. She couldn’t continue her words because of the sudden skin ship she didn’t expect. Lanceil was standing behind her as if he was giving her a warm hug. His left hand is at the sink, while his right hand was getting the sponge from above. “Oh? It’s here,” Lanceil murmured. Agatha could feel his warm breath brushing on her nape. She sneaked upon him and was amazed by his beauty up close. “Why haven’t you opened the pack? You should change the sponge regularly.” Every time he speaks, his Adam’s apple vibrates. Agatha thinks it’s sensual to watch. Her heart raced. Her mission is to seduce Lanceil. But why does it seem like she was getting seduced by him instead? “Miss, once a week, chan…” Lanceil stopped nagging when he saw Agatha’s reddened face in a close gap. No one moves away. No one speaks. No one averts their gaze. In the kitchen when they were alone, the temperature went high. But the time Agatha bit her lower lip firmly, Lanceil looked at her lips and then gulped. He didn’t know what kind of spirit joined his body, that Lanceil started to lean closer. Agatha pushed her lids downward. They were going to kiss. They were about to. “What’s for dinner? Party sucks. The club is clos…” Vincent appeared and saw them. The two quickly moved away from each other; Agatha acted as if she was cleaning the dishes, while Lanceil scratched his nape with reddened ears. “I lost my appetite,” Vincent murmured then walked towards his room. Lanceil followed him while saying, “Wait. Hey! It is not what you were thinking! Vincent!” Alone in the kitchen, Agatha’s cheeks are flushing in heat. She cupped it and uttered, “I am fuck*ng doomed.” She was starting to like Lanceil, and yes, Agatha knew she was in trouble.
