Yuexue quietly opened a crack in the door and watched Shen Heyu and Gu Siyu walking away. Shen Heyu was carrying a medical kit initially, but Gu Siyu, concerned about exhausting her, took over the medical kit from her.

“It’s just a minor injury. You’ve apologized twice now; aren’t you making too much of it? I’m a grown man; a little pinch isn’t that serious. Plus, I don’t feel any pain, so don’t feel guilty,” Gu Siyu actually comforted Shen Heyu while she carefully wiped his injury with a cotton swab.
“But your assistant mentioned you have a very important surgery tomorrow. Now, I’ve injured your hand; what if you can’t hold the scalpel steadily in surgery?”
Shen Heyu sighed lightly, knowing how critical a doctor’s hands are. Any injury could potentially risk a life, intensifying her guilt.

“What did you have to sacrifice to persuade your senior sister to help out? Tell me, so I can properly thank you later.”
“Didn’t I tell you? My senior sister is quite proud, she just wanted me to praise her. I never praised her before, so after I said lots of good things, she agreed to come.”
“By the way, she’s settled in the villa I arranged and has started researching the poison affecting Yuexue. I’ll arrange for you two to meet within the next few days. After all, you are Yuexue’s mother; some things are better heard directly.”
“Sure, you’ve helped me so much, I don’t even know how to thank you properly.”
Shen Heyu genuinely felt guilty, knowing Gu Siyu was only Yuexue’s attending physician, yet he not only treated the illnesses but also assisted Shen Heyu with her personal issues and helped fend off Pei Yansi and Lu Yi.
He even humbled himself to request his senior sister’s help, a first for someone like him who had always been privileged.
“What are you thinking about so deeply?”

“If you are tired, you should sleep well here. My office is equipped with a rest area. If you don’t mind, sleep here for a while, and later you can go see Yuexue.”
