Shen Heyu’s force in pushing away Lu Yi’s hand was not strong, but to Lu Yi, it felt as if he had been slapped across the face, leaving a burning pain. He foolishly stared at his own outstretched hand, hanging mid-air, and eventually, heartbroken, he let out a soft chuckle.
When Shen Heyu looked up and saw Lu Yi laughing to himself, she slowly stood up straight, her eyes were extra cautious as she watched the person before her, her voice cold without a trace of warmth.
“I hope you won’t bother Yuexue anymore. Since you used Yuexue’s lifesaving medicine to strike a deal with me, repeatedly forcing me to do things I didn’t want to do, you have ceased to be Yuexue’s uncle.”
Shen Heyu watched Lu Yi cautiously. Hearing her voice, Lu Yi silently withdrew his hand. He lifted his head, eyes betraying an emotion of heartache that he could not hide.
“If I truly didn’t care about Yuexue’s life, why would I exchange all that I have for this antidote, Shen Heyu? Have you thought about it? Why have I become today? It is all thanks to you.”
Even now, Lu Yi was pushing all the blame onto Shen Heyu. For a moment, Shen Heyu felt as if she was seeing things. She thought she detected an emotion in Lu Yi’s eyes that didn’t belong to him at the present.
“I’ve already made it clear to you, we have nothing to discuss. If you had stayed by my side and Yuexue’s like before, maybe we would have had the perfect ending by now. Step by step, we’ve reached this point today, and it’s all your own fault.”
Shen Heyu refused to continue discussing this dead-end issue with Lu Yi. She was utterly hopeless about him now, not harboring any more hope. The Lu Yi she once knew might as well be dead.
“Fine. Since you insist that everything is my doing, then I have nothing more to say to you. You shouldn’t have forgotten what I said. If you want to get the antidote, sleep with me first. Anyways, you still have a week. I’ll be waiting for you at any time.”

“Why is it you? What are you doing here? Yuexue is sick lately and needs proper rest, she needs to convalesce, so please don’t come and disturb her anymore.”
Shen Heyu’s voice was cold as she spoke to Pei Yansi. When she saw Pei Yansi appear, her reaction was more one of resistance. I hope you don’t cause a scene here, especially not in front of Yuexue. Our separation has indeed impacted her young heart, and now that she is ill, I hope you won’t act recklessly.”
Pei Yansi, upon hearing Shen Heyu’s words and seeing her resolute expression, ultimately chose to step back silently.
