Sunny’s POV
“Are you alright, Sunny?” Jared asked me as soon as we were able to escape from Kayla and her stupid friends.
I looked at his hand that was holding mine. “I’m alright, Jared.”
He let go of my hand. “You should’ve told me about that in the first place. You should have told us about it.”
“I didn’t want you and Natalie to be involved. I’m the one they’re actually targeting anyway.”
“But we’re your friends.”
“I’m sorry.”
Jared heaved a sigh. “The next time Kayla and her friends try to hurt you again, just tell me, okay?”
“Jared, Natalie might really tell everyone about your real identity.”
“I don’t care about that, okay? Your safety is more important to me.”
I looked at Jared with my eyes widened upon hearing what he just said. That was the very first time that someone said something like that to me. “B-But they might follow you around, paparazzi are going to stalk you again, you wouldn’t have any freedom again.”
“But you will always stay beside me, right?”
“H-Huh?”
“I know you’ll always stay beside me, Sunny.” He said with a smile on his face.
I didn’t know why, but my heart started beating really fast while he was looking at me with that smile on his face. “O-Of course, I will stay beside you. I’m your friend, right?”
“Of course. By the way, let’s go to the clinic. Let’s ask the nurse to treat those cuts on your lips, for sure your boyfriend would get mad when he sees that.”
“O-Okay.”

As soon as we stepped out of our classroom, cameras started flashing around us with many reporters and paparazzi taking photos and asking questions to Jared.
‘Are you really Jared Knight?’
‘Mr. Knight, how does it feel to be studying here?’
‘Can you tell us why did you decide to study here?’
‘We’ve heard that you’re really doing good in your class, are you really planning to quit being a celebrity and finish your studies?’
‘Mr. Knight!’
Jared just ignored them. He shoved through the crowd and went straight to his car.
Sigh.
That Kayla really told the press about it. That woman is really a pain in the ass. She’s really so quick to tell it to everybody, huh?
“I knew it.”
I looked at Natalie when she suddenly spoke while we were walking our way to the bus stop. “Huh?”
“That Jake is Jared Knight, the ultimate superstar. Even if he tried to look like a nerd with that wig and eyeglasses, he can’t still deny the fact that he looks like a superstar,” she said.
“Really? Did you notice that? I thought people are just blind or dumb. He looks exactly the same except those glasses, as what you have said.”
Natalie nodded. “But I’m just wondering, how did you meet a superstar like him?”
“Hmm? W-Well, it was an accident. I saw him in a supermarket, he was being chased by his fans. He bumped into me which caused all the things that I bought to fall to the floor. And since I just can’t let him run away like that, I chased after him too. To cut the long story short, I helped him disguise himself as an ordinary man and we became friends.”
“Wow. You know what, Sunny? You do really have a lucky charm when it comes to rich, famous, and wealthy hot handsome guys.”
“I don’t even know why. Maybe the world just loves putting me into trouble.”
She laughed. “By the way, how’s Damon?”
“Huh? Well, he’s out of the city, I think. It’s for his work.”
“Oh, really? He really is a hard-working guy, you’re so lucky to have him as your boyfriend, Sunny.”
I forced a smile onto my face. “Hehe…”
“Are you guys planning on marrying each other after you graduate?”
“W-What?! O-Of course not! I-I mean… n-no. Not yet.”
“Huh? But I think you can do that. After all, Damon is already rich. You don’t have to work since he could provide you anything that you need. If I were you, I will never let go of him anymore.”
I suppressed a sigh. If only I could tell her that Damon and I are just pretending. “Natalie, marrying a wealthy man is not my dream. Being a writer is. I want to be a writer that many people would admire. I want to be a writer that many people would be inspired of. I don’t need a wealthy man who could give me money to go shopping as much as I want, I just want someone who will love me truly. I want someone who will support me to what I want.”
“I-I understand. O-Of course, that’s what matters the most. I-I’m just saying that Damon is someone you should take care of because there are so many women out there who want to be in your position.” she smiled. “B-By the way, I will leave now Sunny. See you tomorrow!”
“Bye, Nat! See you!”
I waved goodbye to her before she finally stepped onto the bus. Then my phone rang. I reached for it inside my bag. “Hello?”
“Hey, nerdy.”
I rolled my eyes as soon as I heard his voice. “What?”
“I’m sure you’re missing me already but I would just like you to know that I have to spend two more days here.”
“Oh really? That’s great then.”
“You mean, you’re happy that I’ll stay here longer?”
“Of course, at least no one’s going to boss me around. I’m free to do anything that I want.”
He remained silent for a while. “Just make sure you wouldn’t cause any problem to me when I come back or you’re really dead! Goodbye!”
Then he finally hanged up the phone.
Look at that bastard, I think he’s more of a girl than me. He’s so quick at changing his mood.
Did he get mad because I told him that I’m happy to know that he’ll stay there longer?
