Sunny’s POV
“Their cordon bleu tastes fantastic, right?” Jared asked me while we were walking outside the mall.
I smiled. “Yeah, and I also liked the tiramisu.”
“You’re right. Where do you want to go next, by the way?”
“Hmm. I think I know a cable car near here. Would you like to try riding it?”
“Really? Sure! Let’s go!”
“Okay! Hahaha!”
We started walking again. I was glancing at Jared all the time that’s why I didn’t notice that there was a car coming to my way. “Sunny!”
“Huh?”
Jared immediately pulled me close to him. “Are you alright?”
“Y-yeah. T-Thanks.”
“Here. Walk on this side.” He said as he pulled me to his other side. “It’s safer there.”
I smiled at him. “Uhm.”
“I will protect you no matter what happens, Sunny.”
“Thank you… By the way, Jared. Can I go to the powder room for a while?”
“Sure. I ‘ll wait for you there.” He said as he pointed to a nearby bench.
I nodded. “Okay.”
Then I finally went inside the powder room. I heaved a sigh as I stared at myself in the mirror.
I smiled when I suddenly remember what happened a while ago.
That’s right. Jared is the one who deserves my love.
I will tell him after we ride the cable car.
I should forget about Damon already. Jared is far better than him anyway.
How can I even love a guy who can’t even tell me the reason why he kissed me that night?!
He kissed me for one minute, then when I asked him why he did that, he didn’t even answer me. I knew it, he was just messing with me. That bastard.
“You can do it, Sunny.” I whispered to myself before I finally decided to walk outside.
Just when I was about to call Jared, three women suddenly approached him. I looked closer and realized that it was Kayla and her friends.
What are they doing here?
“So, you’re here having a date with that nerd, huh?” Kayla said to Jared.
I was hiding behind a post near them.
“What are you doing here?” Jared asked them.
Kayla laughed. “Why are you mad? I’m just asking you, babe.”
B-Babe?
“Leave now, Kayla. Sunny might see us here.” Jared whispered while looking around them.
“Oh, Jared. Why, are you afraid that that nerd might know about our secret? You’re afraid that she might find out that you were just using her to take revenge to Damon?”
My eyes widened. I couldn’t believe what I just heard. Jared is using me? T-To take revenge to Damon?
“Poor nerd. She thought someone would finally love her but she has no idea that she’s just being fooled.”
“Stop it already, Kayla! Just leave, okay?!” Jared yelled.
I walked towards them with tears already filling my eyes. “Y-You know each other from the start?”
They all looked at me with widened eyes. “S-Sunny…” Jared mumbled.
I looked at him. “You know Kayla all along?”
“S-Sunny, l-listen, I can explain it all to y—
“That’s right, nerd. Jared is my boyfriend. I mean, my ex-boyfriend.” Kayla blurted. She walked towards me with her arms folded over her chest. “I broke up with him after I had a one-night stand with Damon. Then he met you and knew that you’re his girlfriend. He decided to take revenge using you.”
“Kayla! I said stop it already!!!” Jared yelled.
Tears started streaming down my face. I looked at Jared. “Is that true? You were only using me all this time? All those things that you showed me, the way you cared for me, all of it was just a lie?”

“That’s right, and because you’re so desperate for someone to love you, you immediately believed him. Do you really think Jared would fall in love with such a cheap woman like you? You must be dreaming!” Kayla yelled at my face.
I was just staring at Jared while tears kept running down my face.
“Poor nerd. If I were you, I will stop dreaming. No one’s gonna love you truly. And Damon? For sure he’s using you too. He’ll dump you once he’s already done playing with you.”
“Kayla, leave Sunny alone.” Jared suddenly said then he walked towards me. “Sunny, I can explain it. I can—
“Get your hands off her!!”
All of us turned our gaze to the person who suddenly yelled. I just saw Damon running towards me. He pushed Jared away and looked at me. “Are you alright?”
I couldn’t stop crying.
Damon embraced me. “It’s alright, I’m here now.”
“Damon, don’t tell me you really love that nerd? For sure you’re just pretending just like Jared.” said Kayla.
Damon faced them but he didn’t let go of my hand. “Yes, I love her, do you have any problem with that? Didn’t I tell you to stay away from her already?”
I look at him with my wide eyes.
H-He loves me? D-Damon loves me?
“You’re lying! How can you even love someone like that nerd?! He’s not even your type!”
“And you think you are my type?” Damon laughed sarcastically. “I will never love a woman like you. And just to remind you, Kayla, you are studying at my school. Next time you lay your hands on Sunny, you wouldn’t only be kicked out from that university, I will make sure you will regret messing with me and my girl. You’re just too lucky you’re a woman, because if you’re not, I would probably punch you right in the face.”
Damon let go of my hand and walked in Jared’s direction. We were all surprised when he punched Jared right on the face which made him fall to the ground.
“D-Damon!”
“How dare you tell me that I don’t deserve Sunny. I will never let you go near her again. The next time you try to talk or go near her again, you won’t be only getting a punch on your stupid face.”
