“Also, thank you for sharing this with me because unless you did that, I wouldn’t have realized that I accidentally gave you a reason to doubt me.”
“Hey… hey.. I did not doubt you, and neither was I going to leave you. All I want to say is that I don’t want to know the truth because I know you won’t cheat on me, right?” Artemis said calmly, and Caroline couldn’t help but fall in love with the person more and more. “If you have hidden something from me, then I know for a fact you have your reasons to do so.”
“Artemis, I’m…”
“It’s okay.” Artemis stopped her in between. “You didn’t tell me about it, so just don’t tell me about it now just because you have learned the fact that I’m aware you lied to me. And out of guilt, you’re saying this. Please don’t do it. And trust me, baby, I meant my words.”
“I’m sorry, Artemis.” Caroline had never felt so much guilt about lying to anyone that she was feeling then.”
“Sarah, there is no rule in a relationship that makes it binding on you to tell me everything. You don’t have to tell me that you bought a nail paint or sanitary pad or vegetables or the color of the pooh. You could have told me that you were out or busy. Or you could have said that you do not want to reveal where you’re or with whom. I would have understood because I trust you. I know you will do nothing wrong.”
And the moment he finished, Caroline started crying. She tried to control her emotions but damn to her hormonal changes because of periods, and she couldn’t control her happiness.
“Sarah, Sarah? What happened? Why did you start crying?” Artemis asked, wiping her tears, but his mate was laughing, smiling, and crying at the same time. “Are you alright?”
“I was… I was looking for the perfect… perfect moment to tell you but… but nothing can be more perfect than this moment.”
“What?” Artemis asked in confusion, wiping her tears, which just rolled out of her eyes.
“Knock, knock,” Caroline said just in the way Artemis used to say. Artemis chuckled with the thought that his mate was copying him and went along.
“Who’s there?”
“Berry.”
“Berry, who?”
“I love you berry much,” Caroline confessed, freezing Artemis all of a sudden. It took him a minute to understand what she had just said. ‘I love you very much.’
‘Did she… did she just confess her feelings for me?’ He asked.
‘Yes, idiot. She did. She just did.’
“Could you repeat what you just said?” Artemis asked to reconfirm.
“Knock, knock.” Caroline was in the mood to tease him instead of answering him directly. Artemis groaned because playing along.
“Who’s there?”
“Oil.”
“Oil, who?”
“Oil loves you forever,” Caroline admitted her feeling again in a cheesy way and smiled when Artemis started grinning like an idiot from ear to ear.
“You are using my tricks to impress me. But baby, you’re not allowed to use my cheesy lines. That’s my specialty.”
“You have no idea how much time I spend remembering all these lines,” Caroline muttered as if this was one of the most challenging things for her. “Do you know why I liked your way of approaching me? Because you gave me the vibes of my brother. Calvin is also like you.”
“Excuse me!! I’m not your brother.” Artemis growled in a low tone at the comparison between her BROTHER and him.
“I know. I know. I’m just stating that Calvin is also like you, cheesy and one of the biggest flirts among the person I know.” Caroline explained about her brother. “By the way, you didn’t answer those four special words back?”
“Knock, knock.” Artemis teased her in the same way she did.
“Who’s there?”
“Butter.”
“Butter, who?”
“I’ll love you always for butter or worse.” A smile appeared on Caroline's lips. “Kiss me if I’m wrong, but dinosaurs still exist, right?” he added with a sly smile on his lips, giving her the signal that what he wanted.
“Of course, I will. Because dinosaurs don’t exist.” She responded and slammed her lips against his. Bolt took over Artemis’s body and kissed her roughly. In the next moment, he tore her t-shirt. Caroline gasped; taking this as an opportunity, he entered his tongue in her mouth while his hand moved freely and opened her bra to hold her treasure.
'That was my favorite t-shirt.' Caroline complained in her mind.
"Mmmm," Caroline moaned in her mouth.
'My hooooman will buy at least ten t-shirts similar to that.'
'Ten? But what will I do with so many similar t-shirts?'
'You won't do anything. I will do that but ripping it.'
'That's the waste of money and clothes both.' Caroline pointed out.
'Then don't wear clothes at all.' Bolt answered, playing with her mountain between his fingers. 'I would have asked you to take our relationship to the next step if you wouldn't have been on your period.'
"But never mind.... We... we will hold that question for two nights more," Artemis said, breaking the kiss. Caroline's heartbeat increased hearing him.
