After talking for a while, both Caroline and Carla discovered that they were somehow related because her Uncle Bruce’s mate was the niece of Grandma Carla. While Caroline’s bond got stronger with Artemis’s Grandma because of one more relation between them, Erica wound up standing on the sidelines while all the other ladies enjoyed the conversation. It was not that no one gave Erica a chance to speak or anything, but her EGO couldn’t digest the fact that someone was better than her.
Artemis was now more excited to know about Caroline, but somehow he controlled his emotion because that was not the right time.
Even earlier, when he asked her that ‘Don't you think that you should tell me about your family now?’ She answered him quickly by saying YES, but at that time, they had to come here to the party so Caroline only could get a chance to tell about her powers and how she received it and how her hairs were blonde before and were now black. She also told him how she stayed in a house alone straight for four years before her Uncle Bruce found her. Not just that, she told him how her brothers helped her in adjusting to the normal world after that.
She didn’t get a chance to tell more because, by then, they were already here.
Erica not just got defeated by Caroline but also received a glare from Santino. She knew that if she failed, then Santino would end up kicking her from the temporary chosen mate position. She couldn’t help but start planning to do something to show that she was better than Caroline, but at the same time, she didn’t know anything about her enemy properly, so she didn’t know in which way she should come back with a perfect plan.
Both Santino and Erica observed how good Caroline was in winning everyone’s hearts because, one by one, Artemis made her introduced to the pack members.
‘I have to ruin her image in front of the pack members, but how?’ They both thought.
“Santino, how about I challenge her to a friendly fight?” Erica said, after thinking for a while.
“Friendly fight? Are you serious? This is a party going on here, and you are suggesting conducting a friendly fight between you two?” Santino hissed in anger.
“See, both you and Artemis can’t defeat one another, so why not decide on the next Alpha of the pack on the basis of the Alpha Heir’s Mate? In the way, everyone finally gets the new Alpha and Luna of the pack.” Erica suggested. Santino was hesitant to say YES to that proposal.
Whatever he had thought about Caroline, she was nowhere near that and way better than Erica until now. On top, he knew nothing about her and underestimating your enemy was the biggest mistake of his life, and he had learned that when he was a kid.
“No.” Santino went against her idea. “We don’t know anything about her fighting technique. Just a few minutes before, she showed you your place in front of Grandma. So, better learn from previous mistakes before doing anything stupid.” he added and planned to dig out her background before doing anything stupid.
Santino left from there to assign this work to Lucca as soon as possible.
‘I’m sorry, Santino, but I’m not going to listen to your words because I want to prove to everyone, including you, that I’m the BEST. And you won’t be able to stop yourself from appreciating my decision.’ Erica thought and a smirk formed on her face. She could already imagine her victory because she very knew that Caroline couldn’t use her magic in this place.

A moment later, She called everyone’s attention by holding a mic. At first, she told everyone how this was an important day for her and Caroline because they both were introduced as the mate of the Alpha Heirs. A frown appeared on Santino’s face when he saw the mic in her hand. He really hoped that she wouldn’t go against his decision and do something stupid.
“Coming to the important point, we all know how we are not deciding who will become the new Alpha of the pack because both brothers are equally powerful and smart in handling all the pack duties. If we follow the rules, the first child gets a chance to become the Alpha, but at the same time, it is also said that the son of the Alpha becomes the next Alpha if he is capable of that post.”
“So, I want to challenge Artemis’s witch mate for a friendly war to decide whose mate will become the next Alpha because no one has been able to decide that until now. Finally, everyone will realize who will be the best for the pack. Me? Erica Fernandez, an Alpha Female and the head warrior of the pack, OR Caroline Gosling, a witch and a mere caretaker of Old Age Home?”
“What the hell is this? Since when anyone started to choose their Alpha like this?” Artemis hissed in anger. He was thinking of giving up on the Alpha post because there was no use in fighting with his very own cousin for the pack. They could even talk about it.
“Erica, I’m not okay with this proposal,” Santino said because he loved his pack a lot and the idea of being his Alpha was his little dream that he started dreaming from the moment when he didn’t know the meaning of DREAM, i.e. when his father was alive.
Artemis didn’t say anything when Santino went against Erica’s words.
“But what about pack members? Do they want a new Alpha? Right pack members?” Erica asked.
[She is right.]
[Yes, we like the mates of both the Alpha Heirs.]
[If Alpha Heirs couldn’t take this decision, then let their mates decide their destiny.]
[Also, we like both the Alpha Heirs. So, we won’t mind becoming anyone becoming Alpha.]
[But we will keep the competition fair that both have to fight in their human form. Yes, the one who will break the rule will be disqualified.]
“Sarah, I’m not interested in becoming an Alpha, so…” Artemis tried to explain to his mate the moment Caroline left his arms. Even in human form, he knew that Erica was strong, and he didn’t want his mate to get hurt in any way. Also, he didn’t want to become the Alpha, and that was the fact.
“That's your decision, honey. And I'm participating is mine." Caroline said and walked ahead toward Erica.
