"So you tell me Ethan, do you have a child?" Cecilia asked me.
"Not really... My fiance was carrying a child when she died" I told her.
"Oh no... That must be so painful for you, am so sorry Ethan" she told me.
"Well.. I should get going, it's late already" she said as she stood up from the dinner table.
"Thanks for having a great time and I hope you can stop by anytime to have dinner with us" Maryam said and she nodded to accept.
"Of course Maryam, your meals are exceptional" she told Maryam who stood blushing.
"Alright thanks again for having me, I should be on my way" she told Maryam I who was now busy trying to fix the table.
"Bye Cecilia!" Maryam said from the kitchen .
"Bye Maryam!.. Thank you for the amazing dishes." Cecilia said from the door.
"Anytime!" Maryam mentioned and Cecilia giggled and walked out of the door, I accompanied her outside and waved her goodbye as she stepped into her car.
She started the car but from the look of it, it just wouldn't start, she tried to in the engine but every time she did it gave out a dying sound, I waited for a while before walking back to her car to ask what the problem was.
"Is anything the matter Cecilia?" I asked her.
"Uhm.. I have no idea what is wrong with my car, it won't just start!" she said out of frustration.
"Calm down Cecilia, let me take a look at it" I said to her and walked to the front of the car and opened it, I did a lot of random rubbish and asked her to start it again she did but it was to no avail.
"I think your engine is really bad," I told her. "Shit!" she spoke out loud.
"How in God's name did that happen, how am I supposed to get home now?" she said in a very worried tone.
"Is anything the matter Ethan?" Maryam standing by the doorway asked. "Not at all Maryam" I told her.
"Ethan am going to be late," she said.
"Okay, you seem to be going somewhere?" I asked.
"Yes.. I have a little date with my husband and I already told him I was on my way." she said.
"Uhm.. And OK since your car is having some faults why don't I take you to the place?" I suggested.
"No Ethan I don't want you to go through that kind of stress for me, I'll just order a ride" she said.
"No.. no I insist besides you're now a friend, you should take this as what friends do for friends" I told her and before she could say another word, I rushed into the house to grab my keys and change into something more appropriate to go out with, Maryam wished me luck and I immediately stepped out.
"Shall we?" I asked. "Please.." she said.
I immediately went to open the passenger door for her and she thanked me, I drove her to the place very quietly, we had a few songs to vibe us throughout the drive and in no time we were here.
"Thanks a lot Ethan, you're a lifesaver" she said and hugged me.
"It's not a problem Cecilia" I said as I realized myself from her hug, my mind can't even tell what my body would do next.
"Enjoy your date" I told her as I began to take some steps back to the car. "Ethan" she called my name.
"Yes" I replied.
"How about you come in with me to see my husband at least to say thank you for the job and for the both of you to get to know each other" she suggested and my throat went dry, this was even better than I thought it would be.
"uhmm.. I don't think that would be necessary" I told her. "C'mon Ethan, it is going to be great, trust me" she said. "Uhmm.." I sighed.
"Please.." she started her persuasion and I was left with choices but I rather just put her choose to be with her.
"Alright.." I declared.
"Yes!" she said excitedly and held my hands.
We walked through the eyes staring at us, Nuella had always been the type of person who didn't give fuck who was staring at her and why the fuck they were.
She held my hands until we got to the table where her husband was sitting, his back facing us. I could not nearly see his face but I could see he was the bloody mothefucker.
"Sandro..." she called him as she pegged him from behind, the peg burned through my skin, I felt patiently waiting for the introduction, oh how fun it would be to see the look on Aiden's face when he sees me.
"Sandro guess what?" Cecilia asked him.
"What.. You know how bad I am with guessing" he said. "I brought a friend," she said.
"A friend?!" he said and turned to see who it was.
In slow motion his eyes came in contact with mine and he immediately spit out the drink in his mouth, his eyes totally opened and his lips turned purple.
"Hey Mr Aiden... am Mr Rolland Ethan.. it's a pleasure to meet you... I've heard alot about you" I said and stretched a friendly hand shake towards him.
He was there looking all dumpy, like he had just seen a ghost, maybe he has, without too much conversation between us, Cecilia asked me to take a seat, I refused but as usual she persuaded me and I complied to it.
The look in the eyes of Aiden was that of fear and desperation, he looked like he wasn't really to give Cecelia up.
I wasn't ready to lose Nuella this time around, I was ready to let her go the second time. Sitting next to her, I sipped some red wines and had great conversations with her.
