"What is it?" She did not speak a word and just looked up at him with glimmering eyes that were drowning in starlight and were now somewhat tearing up.
"What do you want to say, little girl?" Ajax sighed before picking up a shirt nearby and wearing it, maybe she felt uncomfortable that was why those eyes were so full of complaints. A minute passed after that and he got a clear answer from her silence-No, she wasn't bothered by his appearance but definitely was angry.
"Alaina....what is it, tell me?" the masculine tone that followed was so full of defeat and affection that her plump pink lips wobbled.
"I-I am not accustomed to working with allies, I will definitely not talk to you or ask for any of your help!" Ajax was startled by her outburst yet his eyes softened when she nervously twiddled with her fingers.
The people who had known Alaina Storm were aware that cold indifference was in her very bones, even if the world stopped she would still smile in a placid way making others feel unfathomable, how ironic it was that the same woman that had hidden and suppressed those feelings was now showing such face to a person that she had known so less of.....it felt like that those tantrums and emotions were made exclusively for that man infront of her and now that he was here she had shown him a side of hers that was always hidden.
He the one who ruled the mafia regime was helpless in front of her and she, who killed with a smile was vulnerable infront of him, just like a pair of soulmates that had thousands of lives where each of them was spent with one another.
Frail fingers that were delicate so as to look like carved from porcelain were held gently in his calloused hold as he sat down infront of her before taking her trembling palm in his own and rubbing it gently to calm her down. He understood what she thought, her fears that he was all along pretending to be her friend while hiding his real motives.
"Alaina......I was forced to hide my identity, Valace does not have his own power, but he borrows it from other mafia families, there are numerous mafia clans that will have their own heads at stake if this man's crime came to light.
If I had to kill him, I would have done it so much earlier but once this person dies, thousands more like him will emerge and will take his place. We must take down Valace Storm along with the mafia clans supporting him darling.

"I understand," Now that she stopped complaining, it was even more painful for the male to hear it. She felt that maybe it was only a touch for him, maybe just a thing for one time when he had taken care of her and given her hope but for Alaina, his sincerity meant the whole world. She had gone through physical abuse that not only gave scars on her body but also trauma and nightmares for her whole life.
He came like a protector, an ally that she could rely on.

She was not even aware when crystal droplets dribbled down her cheek and the blurry figure of the man who earlier was sitting now came closer as he cupped her face and wiped those traitorous tears away. "I-I have an eye defect, I am not crying!" Fingers gliding through honey hair and massaging her scalp helped her calm down. Ajax who had wished to ask about her past experiences did not spoke anymore as to make her comfortable.

Or that you look like a sunflower full of soft sunrays when those beautiful lips of yours curve so exquisitely?Do you know I cannot keep my hands away from your hair because they are so precious, they curl even when I hold them in my grasp......like tiny mischievous clouds. " Tears that were earlier flowing without any abandon stopped as the Storm princess froze, breathing erratically.

It was you who made me change my simple path and do those things, I felt like a fool buying lunch for my enemy in the middle of the night, felt that I was insane when I let you in my room that night of the banquet and looked at you like some stalker......and here right at this momemt.do you want to seduce me?"
"N-No, I never....but I did not do anything Ajax." Brown irises clashed with his green ones and he breathed heavily.
