Alaina's pov
Ever seen a bird flying high and almighty, it expand it's wings so that it could reach more and more towards the oblivion of skies but it forgets that the sun which seems to provides warmth of the love and affection that same sun will burn it's wings to the ashes being the very bird's fall.
I didn't asked for the pain, no one does, but it's memories haunting me down to the core never got totally buried. Perfection- all my life I strived for it, lived for it ,but in the farthest corner of my heart I knew what I was- a coward, but I will not stop fighting .
My father was five years older than his tyrant brother making me the heir of the chains of empire passed by my grandfather. But unlike Valace Storm, Papa always loved him and had respect for his brother, and I didn't want to ruin it, I couldn't because he threatened me to kill my parents.
There was only a façade that people were wearing, like a mask of feelings hiding evil intentions and what I feared as a child was the chaos that would break out as soon as those masks would come out.
Seeing Cally made my heart hurt, whatever Valace did was always for her. He wanted his daughter to have what he couldn't, he broke me every single day piece by piece, the parts which I am collecting till date. Physically abused me when I had no idea what was wrong and right, then threated me when I tried to reach out for help. This darkness in my life was like a never ending spiral and I, for god knows how long was completely trapped in it.
I remember being so terrified of Valace at one point. My panic attacks were in the confinement of my bathroom so no one could know what happened.
Valace left Cally because he never wanted her bathed in bloodbath which his enemies would certainly do if they knew what she meant to him, instead he showed care for me, making me always the centre of attention of attack which I barely escaped sometimes.
He was a monster who didn't saw that even he was saving her in his own way he was still breaking her mentally by never showing her affection of a parent. I knew how it felt -to be alone so I brought her with me but now seeing her standing before me I felt only hatred towards her. How can people be so heartless, how can there be such humans that only know to destroy...
Like father, like daughter- thankless. She knew I was in the night club, she could have extended a helping hand but she had discarded me, if things were as such then she must not blame me for being ruthless.
"My father is not like that, you are clearly a liar".
I felt pure rage flowing through my body. I lifted my shirt. A dark scar was adorning my figure stretched across my abdomen. Her eyes widened, shock filling them as if not expecting that I would dare to show the marks of abuse.
"You always knew, didn't you?" Shame filled her eyes.
"I......I thought it was a moment of father's rage!" her body was trembling but I couldn't bring myself to care, what I felt right now was my empty soul.

"Uncle Lace, let's go and get Cals here, she would love this place" I laughed while we were sitting in a small cafe with fresh pine smell,decorated with designer jute lamps.
I didn't liked company much and right now it was perfect because only five or six people were there. I observed my surroundings while sipping my chocolate smoothy with a straw.
"She better be at home Laina, it's not safe to get out here" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Well, we both are here too" he gave me an evil smirk which I naively ignored.
"Stay here princess! I am coming from washroom." If it was any other time I would have my guards with me but uncle insisted it would be a special hangout with just both of us.
I waited and waited but he wasn't there ,but suddenly then I heard a loud bang with screams from different people which scared me to shits, so I ducked under the table ,large tear droplets flowing as I heard a series of heavy footsteps approaching my way.
A large hand pulled me out of my place, making me scream. A huge man with black glasses towered over me, his eyes hardened on seeing me.
"Tell boss we have found the one we were looking for."
"UNCLE, UNCLE LACE where are you?" I saw someone shifting in the shadows just before being dragged outside and I was sure I saw him grinning.
Valace Strom standing in the shadows smirked. He took out his cellphone. "Brother, Laina is nowhere to be found, I searched the whole home" he faked panted while the other person on the line got extremely furious.
"How dare you leave her even for a second, I am coming this instant, text me the location. NOW! " the line went dead.
"She would be dead by the time you get her" he whispered.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" a man in black cladded Armani was furious on his men.
" I wanted that bastard, not his niece, bring her here" he lowered his voice when he saw the said girl flinching at his tone. God! he was a businessman not a bloodthirsty mob boss what he would possibly do of the little girl? Kidnap her?
She was brought with a black cloth blinding her sight.
"What is your name sweetheart?"
" A-Alaina" she answered while trembling as he removed the cloth from her eyes, his blue orbs seeing the innocent brown ones. He sighed.
"Do you want to go home" she nodded fearfully "Look darling, your uncle has something of mine of utter importance but I guess you don't need to get between this mess." His voice was soft as of a father.
She relaxed in his presence and looked at her surroundings, it was a glass office with her sitting infront of a chair in round fully furnished table.
"Send her to her Uncle back and bring him to me at this instant." He didn't wanted a child to be involved in this sick game.
Though he didn't knew that the place he was sending her would a living hell for her.
After she came back to Valace and his meeting with the man she met before was done his entire personality took a 360 degree turn. He didn't told her father that she was found. He kept her hostage for eight days till one.
"Hello darling feeling good? Did you slept well?"He asked her in mocking tone when she moved away from him, the distance her shackles would allow her to, on the floor.
"Your stupid bastard of a father is searching every place for you when you are right under his nose" he crouched down in front of her. FIRST
He opened her restraints . SECOND
"Nothing of this have happened if Sandra was mine,I always wanted to see her withering beneath me just like a whore begging to be released." THIRD
She brought the heavy shackles to his head and smash it hard against the wall. He wasn't expecting her to have this much strength left after days of starvation.He groaned blood pouring down his head . She kicked him hard her knuckles bruising his face.
"I will kill your parents, I will destroy everything you love."his voice sounded distant.
"Don't think you win Valace, it would only be me who rules this fucking empire and the day I will, you will see the depths of molten hell. I promise Valace I will bring you to your damn knees." she seethed.
Valace had sold her to Leonard, but Leo was God's grace to Alaina. An eight year old was traded like cattle.
Nobody knew that it wasn't the people who took her gave her those scars but her own family. Only she and that sick bastard were aware.
