Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage Chapter 690

"The Kraken Legion!! We’re screwed!" Mabubu screamed in terror as more than fifty massive creatures emerged from the distant shadows, each one the size of a Saint Lord Dragon, radiating an oppressive, dark aura. Two massive eyes glowed eerily in the darkness, seemingly able to pierce through the void and lock onto any living being nearby. Bradley booted Mabubu clean off Aeloria’s back. The panicked fishman hastily summoned a blue flying fish to catch himself mid-fall. The name triggered something in Orson’s memory. On Earth, tales of the Kraken were legendary. In countless cultures, it was known as the monstrous sea beast that dragged ships and sailors into the deep. The krakens in front of them were even more terrifying. Their bulk was monstrous, their skin rugged and rough like ancient coral, covered in arcane markings and battle scars. The weakest among them were at Domain Master rank, and some had already reached Saint Lord-Class, each boasting nearly 200 million HP—on par with the notoriously tanky Amethyst Gold Dragons. Orson narrowed his eyes, quickly spotting small magic formations etched into the krakens’ tentacles. They were mounted with enchanted siege equipment—repeaters, cannons, even obsidian plating protecting their vulnerable eye and head areas. These krakens weren’t beasts anymore. They were flying fortresses. "Impressive. How did they even get around the combat beast equipment restriction?" Orson was genuinely curious. Under Infinite Dimensions’ world rules, beasts couldn’t equip gear like adventurers could. Only rare divine relics allowed for exceptions. He remembered how, in his past life, a mech-obsessed lunatic from the Maple Nation zone had fully cyberized a mutant Earthwyrm into a mechanical juggernaut. Though only Domain Master-ranked, it fought toe-to-toe with Saint Lord Dragons. "You mean you didn’t know? Kraken-class Vilitian exist in multiple adventurer worlds! Your dragons are just a branch of the starbeast family." Mabubu seemed genuinely shocked by their ignorance. "Starbeasts, huh... Looks little guide knows more than he lets on." Orson raised an eyebrow, while the others turned to Mabubu with renewed interest. They knew little about the true power structures of the galactic core. Having a slippery old guide like him around might save them a lot of unnecessary trouble. Mabubu, not sensing the sudden attention, muttered to himself while staring at the rift behind them. "Man... I haven’t felt right lately. Slime production’s all messed up. Hormones out of whack. Big drop in combat power..." Bradley, riding Velorith, reached out and grabbed him with a clawed swipe. "Look at those things! That’s just the Fifth Watcher City’s force. The next ones will be even worse. Earth sirs, it’s not too late to run!" Mabubu squealed, desperately waving his fins. "I was planning to barbecue some squid anyway. What a perfect delivery." Madman grinned, eyes glinting. "Cut these suckers up into chunks, turn ’em into canned calamari—we could crank out tens of millions of cans. Sell ’em for fifty silver each? That’s a clean profit!" Drunken Dream snorted, nodding. "Godslayer guild master really knows how to budget. I’m impressed." "I am the lord of Solareth! You primitive Earth savages may choose how you die!" A towering humanoid stood proudly atop one of the krakens. His skin was deep gray, his mouth full of jagged shark-like teeth, and in his hand was a ten-meter-long iron whip. "Savages, my ass. You look like you just crawled out of a tide pool, who are you calling uncivilized?" Madman laughed through gritted teeth. "That’s Zorro. He’s from the Deep Blue World. Water-magic Saint Lord-Class." Redlion’s tone turned heavy. "He was once qualified to join the Grey Watchers, but after betraying the gods, he was sent to Solareth to atone." The Deep Blue adventurers were infamous for their brutality. They had tried rebelling against the gods once. In response, their planet’s oceans had been drained dry, nearly annihilating their entire species under the burn of a sun. "Interesting. Let’s see just how brutal you are." Orson smiled calmly, nudging Aeloria forward toward the alien army. "A quasi-God-tier beast?!" Zorro was momentarily surprised, but quickly sneered, revealing his jagged teeth. "Sure, you were strong enough to crush the likes of Nightblade and Mabubu—but to me, you’re nothing." With a roar, Zorro’s whip turned deep blue, sending surging water currents into the surrounding krakens. "Alert: Kraken ATK power +30%!" "Alert: Kraken water AoE range +50%!" System notifications flooded in. Orson stood motionless on his saddle as massive torrents of water began swirling around him. "Kill these savages!" The surrounding adventurers roared and surged toward Madman’s group from all directions. "Hell yeah, now this is a real brawl!" Bradley laughed maniacally, brandishing his elemental blade and charging headfirst into the onslaught. "If we’re savages, then you’re just galactic maggots!" Usher’s eyes burned crimson. He raised his demonic longbow and unleashed a torrent of arrows that tore through space, reducing dozens of adventurers ahead of Bradley to bloody chunks. "You greedy bastard! You already stole the Heaven Demon kills, and now you’re snatching adventurer merit points too?!" Usher didn’t care. With his Unmatched archery, even those with flashy stat sheets were nothing but meat puppets. "Backline, fall back!" A battalion of shielded knights charged in. Usher’s expression shifted. These tanks had over 500,000 HP each, covered in heavy armor, bolstered further by damage reduction shields from their clerics. They actually withstood his basic attacks. "Time to protect our MVP." Wedge whispered to herself. SSR Club was both her greatest failure and her greatest pride. She swore to defend the last spark of its glory. She raised her Forbidden Magic staff. A swirl of holy light gathered around her. "Awakened Skill: Lightshield Detonation!" The alien knights exploded one after another, armor shattering, blood flying. S-rank holy magic: Lightshield Detonation. It dealt damage equal to shield value and removed all heals and shields for a short time. Affected targets also received the Lightbane debuff: for 60 seconds, heals and shields were reduced to 10% effectiveness. Usher turned briefly to glance at the discarded unit in his hand, then nodded meaningfully. "Attack speed override." Usher split into three clones atop his dark dragon, each one a silent executioner. The moment they locked onto the backline, the slaughter began. The arrow storm was more devastating than a dragon’s breath. No one survived. "Close in! Melee combat!" Despite their fear, more elite alien knights, all above level 100 and heavily equipped, rushed Wedge’s position. Wedge frowned. Her shield skills were on cooldown. She urged her light dragon to pull back. Drunken Dream snorted, charging in with Denoka. His spear swept in a wide arc. "Awakened Skill: Soaring Dragon, Boundless Lands!" With a deafening blast, the charging knights were blasted into the air. Denoka followed up with a searing breath, sending them to hell. "None of them are even above level 100, yet they’re fighting like Grey Watchers..." "How are Earth adventurers this strong?!" Alien adventurers broke out in cold sweat. In under a minute, over 2,000 of their elite were dead. "Beautiful. Look at this chaos!" Madman laughed wildly. "Quarla, King’s Authority!" In the confusion, master and disciple looted like madmen. They ripped gear and gold straight off their enemies. "My boots! Where the hell are my boots?!" "My gold! That was MY gold!" The frontliners panicked, their weird bodies left totally exposed. "How the hell are you this broke? Level this high and your best gear’s only a level 70 legendary?" Madman sneered in disgust. He got it now. These guys had just been around longer. Their levels were high, sure—but they were poor as hell. "He’s dead. He didn’t even dodge. Typical savage. Dumb to the end." At the center of the battlefield, Zorro sneered. A colossal tidal wave, several kilometers tall, loomed over the battlefield and crashed down, engulfing the tiny Earth adventurer. With the awakened skill from his legendary set, fifty krakens had combined their A-rank water spells into a strike comparable to a Forbidden Curse. Even if Orson’s quasi-God beast tanked it head-on, it would leave them critically injured—if not dead. After that, killing one little Earth human would be child’s play.
