Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage Chapter 687

[The Abyss Region Chat] "Obseria has been heavily damaged by Earth adventurers! All forces, be on alert!" "Pathetic weaklings. Obseria’s adventurers are nothing but the scraps of the Infinite Dimensions." "I wonder what Earth flesh tastes like. I can sense the hunger in the Heaven Demons. Earth meat must be... divine." News of Earth’s reverse invasion into the Abyss spread fast—but no one took it seriously. After all, Obseria was bottom-tier, the lowest rung in the food chain among the nine cities. Its fall didn’t matter. Even among the faithful of the gods, the law of the jungle had ruled the Infinite Dimensions for countless eras. The weak perish. The strong endure. "Please let us in! I don’t want to die!" "Open the gates! Those adventurers are insanely strong! Only the united might of the nine cities can stop them!" Obseria refugees screamed outside the gates of Ignarion. No one answered. No gate opened. Their voices echoed in vain. "Lord Nightblade, Obseria was destroyed in an instant. These Earth adventurers aren’t to be underestimated." "We need to contact the other Watchpoint Lords immediately!" A towering beastman over three meters tall, tiger-headed and red-furred, spoke gravely. "You’re too jumpy, Redlion," Nightblade scoffed. His entire body gleamed like blackened steel. "There’ve been Watchpoints hit by tech before. What’s the panic? The gods will replenish their followers soon enough." "As long as the dominion of the gods remains intact, those who defy the Abyss will be devoured by the Heaven Demons." He came from the World of Shadowfang, a realm where every creature was born with steel-like muscle, blade-like limbs, and no need for weapons—their bodies were already perfect killing tools. Mabubu: "Attention all Ignarion adventurers—this is a warning!" The unexpected voice startled the crowd. Redlion looked up, puzzled. "Mabubu? The Lord of Obseria? He’s calling for backup?" "Mabubu? That little waste who couldn’t even beat a mid-tier demon? He’s got the balls to show up here?" "Ignarion doesn’t welcome trash. One more step and we’ll feed you to the beasts!" The shouts came without hesitation. Even as a city lord, Mabubu was given zero respect. "A mere Lord-Class adventurer running a Watchpoint... what a joke." "These arrogant beast bastards... #$%@%!!" Mabubu cursed so hard the translation sync couldn’t keep up. Orson couldn’t help but laugh. The fish bastard was going full turbo, swearing so dirty the translator gave up. "Shut your sewage-spewing mouths. The Earth Dominion gives you ten seconds to surrender, or else... mass extinction!" Mabubu roared, grinning with those awful fish-teeth. He had clearly absorbed Earth’s favorite tradition: flexing while outgunned. "Hahaha... this clown betrayed the gods and wants to lead Earth’s army in a slaughter? What a joke!" "You sure you’re ready to die like a traitor, fish-boy?" "Come here, I’ll take your head and feed it to my Heaven Demon pet." Ignarion’s adventurers broke into laughter. Though few of them were fully weaponized, their arrogance knew no bounds. "Traitor, your death is sealed," Nightblade said coldly. Most adventurers here were only Domain Master tier. Even that was overkill compared to Obseria’s trash. No one was intimidated by a wet, mucus-covered lantern fish. "#$%@! They rejected your mercy, Lord Earth Adventurer! Go ahead—wipe them out!" Mabubu was fuming, his gills flaring, urging Orson to attack. Mabubu: "Keep mocking, keep screaming! Earth’s might will grind you down to atoms!" Obseria had always been ridiculed. Now that it had been turned into rubble, it was only fair the rest of the cities got to experience the same "hospitality." "No wonder fish-boy’s been so enthusiastic. He’s here for revenge!" "Hand over your node device, and I’ll let you live." Orson’s voice rang over the skies of Ignarion. The faces of Nightblade, Redlion, and the others turned pale. The air split with a deafening scream. The laughter stopped instantly. Every adventurer froze like statues. "Quasi-God-tier... Vilitian!" Redlion’s voice trembled. A dark, deathly aura rolled through the sky like a storm cloud, pressing down on the city like a mountain. "How is this possible?! Earth’s Infinite Dimensions world was opened less than 300 days ago! How could someone already own a beast this powerful?!" "And two more King-tier Vilitian?! My god, this isn’t real!" Stunned gasps erupted. The Golden Dragon King and the Lightning Dragon King descended together, shaking the very air with their presence. "Activate the Watchpoint Barrier! Call for help! NOW!" Nightblade snapped back to his senses and shouted orders. His own Infinite Dimensions world had existed for over a century, and even there, King-tier beasts were rare—nearly impossible to obtain. And those qualified to tame one? Already chosen by the gods, turned into living weapons. Truth be told, the adventurers of Ignarion were the same as everyone else—scraps from the galactic leftovers. Not strong enough for the Grey Watchers. Not powerful enough to hunt Heaven Demons alone. They were just puppets, assigned to babysit one of the Abyss’s node devices. Four towering iron curtains rose into the sky, and Nightblade finally exhaled in relief. "Whoa. A quasi-God-tier barrier: Blackwind Veil?" Madman frowned at the stats. "Physical and magic damage reduced by 80%, 3 billion HP." "Worse—it lasts six hours," Wedge added, eyes narrowing. At the same time, a white beam fired from the city into the Abyss wall, scattering gold runes across the air like a beacon. "It’s a flare. They’re calling for reinforcements." Wedge’s voice darkened. "Aurora Beacon is lit. You’re doomed now!" Nightblade taunted Orson, finally regaining some confidence. But beside him, Redlion swallowed hard, his entire body tense. He couldn’t read Orson’s status screen. And that could only mean one thing: This man... was a King. "Break the barrier. You and me," Usher growled, turning to Orson. "I’m down. You be the turret, I’ll be the piss machine." Usher’s glare turned deadly. "Say that again, I dare you." "He’s mad. He’s actually mad!" Madman laughed, not the least bit intimidated. "Go ahead. Let it out, Mr. Golden Stream." Orson waved them quiet. Now wasn’t the time for squabbling. "No need to make this complicated. As long as it’s not a full God-tier barrier, it’s nothing." Then he turned and teasingly poked Berenice on the cheek. "Isn’t that right, my lovely, charming Dragon Queen?" "Hmph! Don’t think sweet-talking makes up for yelling at me, little servant boy!" Berenice folded her arms, claws squishing his face. "See that palace in the city? Black spires, gold rooftops? Real fancy." Orson grinned devilishly. "These alien adventurers have deep pockets. You think they’re short on gold?" At that, Berenice’s ears perked up. "You know... now that you mention it, that tower does look like a treasure vault." Orson kept haggling like a broken record. The others stood there in stunned silence. Weren’t they here to take the Abyss node? When did this turn into a loot negotiation? Also... the barrier’s not even down yet! "Aaaargh! Fine, whatever!" Berenice huffed and puffed but finally agreed to the split. "Go, my spirit dragon!" Orson’s smirk deepened. Without missing a beat, he summoned his beast and hurled a handful of attacks straight into the Ignarion barrier.
