Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage Chapter 677

[Global Warzone Announcement: South Asia has ceased hostilities with the US Warzone. The warzone ruler has fallen. South Asia has merged with the US Warzone.] [Global Warzone Announcement: IND Warzone has ceased hostilities with the US Warzone. The warzone ruler has fallen. IND has merged with the US Warzone.] [Global Warzone Announcement: Maple Nation has ceased hostilities... and formed an alliance with the US Warzone!] The power dynamic of the Fusion World shifted wildly as more than a dozen global announcements popped up in succession. Each one was nothing short of earth-shattering. Except for US adventurers themselves, no other warzone could have predicted this outcome. "Twelve hours to conquer the world... but no one said it’d be this clean." "Who can stop these insane US players? Rumor has it a god from Maple Nation knelt and begged that man for mercy. Unbelievable!" "Is someone really on the verge of world domination?" Humanity trembled. Especially global leaders—those who had strutted for decades, only to wake up and realize their era was over. Against the overwhelming force of adventurers, traditional militaries were nothing but ants. And when news spread that Usher had tanked a nuclear strike and survived, the world’s entire understanding of power shattered. To the average citizen, adventurers were no longer human. Of the sixteen warzones that declared war on the US, nine had already fallen. The others, while claiming to be "allied," were transparently trying to save face. Everyone knew what was really going on. "They just keep coming..." Mokiyo stared, awestruck, at the mountain valley below. At the same time the Abyss opened over the Pacific, tens of millions of teleportation beams lit up around the UJ Forward Base. A tide of adventurers surged forth. "We can’t stop this... what the hell do we do?" Inside Celestial Fortress, Divine Slash frowned as he watched the ancient teleportation array flare again and again. He turned to RavenMadman and the other core members. Behind them stood the elite Infinite Dimensions powerhouses led by Aetrexa and Darkbo. On both flanks of Celestial Fortress, two war machines—King-Class Battleship and the Demon God Palace—stood ready to deploy. "So, what’s the call? Talk them down? Or what?" Madman looked to Orson. Orson calmly shook his head. "If they’re willing to return to US territory, we’ll send them back. If not... let them decide." "I agree," Drunken Dream said grimly. "I do too," said Demon Emperor. "The Abyss breach is near US territory. Defending US isn’t just our job. Everyone should fight for their home." A cold, hard voice rang out across the comms. Everyone looked toward the Demon God Palace, frowning. The speaker was none other than Usher—the man who had just suffered catastrophic losses. "Oh? Let’s hear it then." Orson smiled faintly, genuinely curious. Usher had never struck him as someone who cared about others’ lives. Had this man grown a conscience? "Many of them have great potential. But... they’re still too green." Usher’s voice faltered slightly. Even his own Dragon’s Kiss Guild looked at him with surprise. "You’ve gone soft, Usher," Demon Emperor sneered. "And you’re a monster who strengthens his Soul Seal by killing the weak? That’s your idea of strength?" Ivy snapped back immediately. Demon Emperor scoffed, unmoved. "Naive. Have you learned nothing from the Fusion World? Weakness is a death sentence. If you don’t want to be food—fight." The Eight Sages of Dragon’s Kiss looked at each other in silence. They wanted to refute Demon Emperor... but he wasn’t wrong. If you didn’t want to die, you had to fight like hell. That truth applied to everyone. "Orson, let them go. I recognize you as the strongest adventurer, but being the strongest means you don’t need cannon fodder to die for you." Usher’s gaze was sharp and unyielding. He knew others would question him. But he also knew: those people below—the ones he used to call ants—they had families. Friends. Dragging them into this battle would only end in slaughter. "You really believe that?" Orson’s tone was teasing, but his smile held a glimmer of respect. This Usher was stronger than his past self... and more human. In his previous life, Usher had no regard for life. But now, after countless setbacks, he’d developed something rare: compassion. Orson appreciated that. Yes, adventurers had unlimited potential. But the Fusion World had arrived too early. Outside of the top elite, most adventurers weren’t even close to being able to fight against the Abyss. If they joined the frontline, they wouldn’t help much. Worse—they’d become liabilities. And on that, he and Usher were in total agreement. The sky was falling. It was up to them—the giants—to hold it up. "These people... actually care now?" Bradley muttered. "Guess I misjudged that guy." US Warzone Voice Channel: "Hey, Godslayer management! We’re all here. Got over two thousand members in our raid group! Just waiting on your greenlight!" "Come on, let’s go already!" Madman sighed, staring at the flood of notifications. Everyone was applying to join battle groups. They were really planning to drown the Abyss in sheer numbers and spit. Suddenly, a system-wide broadcast boomed. Orgod: "This is US-001. Orgod speaking." The crowd below exploded into cheers the moment his voice rang out. "Add me to the raid group! I’m ready for that sweet war contribution bonus!" "Starting today, I’m gonna surpass Orgod!" Their roars echoed across hundreds of kilometers like a tidal wave. Even in nearby UJ cities, citizens were breaking out in cold sweats. "Mining... just keep mining... the US won’t bother us if we behave..." "Chaos God, please protect us. If our logistics hold, maybe the US lords won’t crush us..." UJ adventurers trembled in fear. They couldn’t imagine what would happen if this bloodthirsty horde turned their rage on them. Riding atop Aeloria, Orson soared above the crowd, his eyes sweeping across the sea of faces like a general reviewing his troops. Wherever he passed, fists flew into the air. "ORGOD! ORGOD! ORGOD!" Their eyes blazed. Bloodlust surged. Every fiber of their being was screaming for battle. "He’s become a god. A symbol of this entire era..." SirLagsALot’s voice trembled. This man had become a totem—an icon. With him present, people forgot their fear. Life and death ceased to matter. On the fortress walls, goosebumps rippled across every soldier. Eyes welled with tears. They were overwhelmed by the sheer weight of the moment. Even Orson himself was choked up. How could he let these beautiful idiots march off to die? In his past life, many heroes had sacrificed themselves in defense of the world. But that was a passive defense. Now, the US Army would take the fight directly into the Abyss. They would bring the flames of war to every inch of the stars! A dragon’s cry shook the sky. Orson called out, his voice thundering across the battlefield: "The US Army will enter the Abyss. We’ll see you there—when you’re ready!" "Huh?! You’re not taking us? Why the hell not?! Get back here, Orgod!" "Sure, you’re good-looking—but I’m not scared of dying! Take me with you!" The US adventurers below stood in stunned silence. They’d crossed the world to be here—only to be benched? Outrage flared as thousands of them cursed him, shouting about how he was a heartless babysitter. Orson blinked, confused. The sea of people didn’t budge. Every last one of them was a stubborn lunatic, yelling at him for being too overprotective.
